Such a lovely idea- my children loved being able to choose a new set each month and a much cheaper way of trying lots of different sets. The company is excellent and are very quick to repond to questions and queries. We were never quite quick enough to be able to borrow one of the bigger sets- my only feedback would be was if there was a way to join a waiting list for the bigger, very popular sets (such as Hogwarts castle) as we had hoped to be able to borrow something like that. In spite of that though, would highly recommend Brick Borrow and was such fun having a succession of Lego projects on the go!

We completely understand your feedback around the bigger, very popular sets such as Hogwarts Castle. They are some of the most in-demand builds in the library, so they can be borrowed very quickly when they become available. We have looked at waiting lists before, but one of the things we really want to protect is allowing members to build at their own pace, without the pressure of returning a set within a fixed time frame.
That said, the larger sets do continue to rotate back into the library regularly, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding.

Brick borrow is such a great idea and such a fun way to enjoy building lego without the costs and needing to find space for all the builds you make! It's such a well organised,easy service to use and I built some sets that I may not have thought about buying but really enjoyed building. Theres a huge library of lego sets to choose from and varying choices of subscriptions to suit everyone. I would thoroughly recommend using brick borrow.

Great service, could be better
I love Brick Borrow as I refuse to pay for a Lego set! Outrageous prices.
I've recommended it to a lot of people and gave a couple people gift cards. They always love it.
Their customer service is spot on too, they always reply and promptly too!
They've got plenty of Lego sets for all ages and if there are pieces missing, they sort you out straight away.
The monthly subscription cost and £5.95 shipping cost massively outweighs the cost of actually buying sets.
That being said, as I've had a subscription for a while now there are a couple things I've noticed that would make this service even better -
1. I've never been notified once my Lego set has been returned, so I check daily.
2. I've had a subscription for 8 months and I've never had a notification to say the sought after Lego sets are back. They have a system due to the popularity but sooner or later, I'll be ending my subscription because of this.
3. The biggest bug bearer of all, finding a set you want! You can only filter by "All" or "Available" and the brand. That's it. You can't sort or filter by the amount of pieces, the suggested age for the set or absolutely anything. I've asked and they have no plans to change this which baffles me. There are 100s of sets, so everytime I need to pick one, it takes me ages 😅

We love this subscription
We love this subscription, its so nice to be able to borrow and build sets without having to buy and store them. I have given 4 stars as the main reason we joined was to try and build hogwarts or the home alone house but in the time I was subscribed they never became available. We had a few sets where there was a piece or 2 missing, most of them We were able to build without them, and the one time we couldnt complete a build we reported it and they sent out the piece quickly for us to complete the build. Other than that the sets were all great, clean and most of the time complete. Really pleased with the value for money.

Recommend - we joined for the summer holidays and it has been a really good way to have a variety of sets to build at a reasonable price. We also don’t have space to keep dozens of complete sets, so this feels much more sustainable too. There are hundreds of sets to choose from, so we haven’t struggled to find ones appropriate to my children’s ages that were available to borrow. My only request/suggestion would be to improve the filtering/search on the website to make it easier to find sets, eg filtering by age groups, types of build.

I’ve had such a fantastic experience with BrickBorrow. The communication is consistently excellent and their customer service is genuinely impeccable, you always feel like the customer comes first, which is becoming increasingly rare these days.
James and Cameron in particular are always incredibly helpful, friendly and responsive. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and whenever I’ve had a question or needed help, they’ve gone out of their way to make everything simple and stress-free.
The whole BrickBorrow concept is brilliant too. It’s such a great way to enjoy different LEGO sets without having to constantly buy, store and then eventually sell them, and the service around it makes the whole experience even better.
It’s very clear that they genuinely care about their customers and about providing a great service rather than simply taking your money. I really can’t fault them.
Amazing company, amazing customer service and a genuinely great idea. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend BrickBorrow to anyone who loves LEGO!

Have been using Brickborrow for over a year and a half now. I started off getting one set at a time but recently have my partner has got into Lego so we get 2 sets at a time. Whenever we’ve had an issue for example a missing piece the customer service has been amazing and spot on.

Good idea, poor and frustrating execution
I'll start with the good. In the 6 months or so I've had my membership, I have managed to borrow a few decent sets. For the most part the sets have arrived in good condition and while there is usually a missing piece or two these have not usually impacted the build too much.
Unfortunately I won't be renewing my subcription or recommending to friends as the borrowing process is just too difficult.
The best sets, which are advertised all over the website, are very difficult to actually reserve. There is no transparency how many of a given set exist, how long a member has had them, when they are on their way back etc. You cannot reserve sets and even if you get one of the good sets in your basket, normally you won't make it to checkout before its already gone. You are basically going to be spending a lot of time refreshing the webpage hoping you will see a set first and rush to the checkout before someone else. There can be weeks of this if you are looking for specific sets.
There is a very rudimentary notification system for when sets become available, but it is unclear exactly how this works (BB themselves do not seem to fully know as I have had conflicting responses from them) and it is currently experiencing ongoing issues meaning alerts for sets that I started my membership to borrow are not being sent. BB have said their team are looking into this but there has been no movement for months now. Regardless, even if the alert works, for any decent set by the time you go on the website (even if instantly upon recieving the email), the set will already be gone.
There are some other minor issues, like the length of time it takes for the company to send replacement pieces (it is usually best to just try and push forward without the piece as waiting for the replacement will completely stall the build), and the very lackluster options for searching and filtering the website (you cannot for example filter/sort by number of pieces), however I could look past these if requesting and borrowing sets was easier as I think the price otherwise is fair.
I have contacted Brick Borrow multiple times about the difficulty in securing big sets and the issues with the alerts. They have always responded promptly but never really offered any real help or changed anything. I see on other reviews here that many other people have pointed out the same issues I am, but the responses from Brick Borrow do not indicate they are interested in changing the borrowing system.
It is a shame as it is a really good idea that works well if you don't have much space to store Lego, but the whole website and requesting process needs some serious attention to be a viable service.

We completely understand your frustration around the more popular and larger sets. These are the most in-demand builds in the library and can be borrowed very quickly when they become available. As members are able to keep sets for as long as they need, availability can vary and it can sometimes be difficult to predict exactly when specific sets will return. We do, however, hold multiple of each sets and do see them rotate regularly in the library and we are always looking to purchase and secure more copies.
That said, we appreciate that this doesn’t make the experience any less frustrating when there are particular sets you joined hoping to build. We also take your comments around notifications, search filters and the checkout process seriously, and this is something that we have been looking into and making improvements to.
We’re sorry to hear you’ve also had issues with missing pieces and the time taken for replacements to arrive. While we always aim to get missing pieces sent out as quickly as possible, we know that even a short delay can interrupt the enjoyment of a build.
We’re grateful that you’ve contacted us directly and that you’ve acknowledged our team has responded promptly, but we’re sorry that you feel we haven’t been able to offer the help or improvements you were hoping for. Your feedback is genuinely useful and gives us a lot to consider as we continue to review and improve the service.

This is such a fantastic service. Me and my 2 children take it in turns when it comes to choosing a Lego set. There is something for everyone. You can choose what plan you'd like, from being surprised every time or choosing which set or 2 sets you would like. We are anxiously awaiting Titanic to become available as my 7 year old is OBSESSED! The help team are incredible. Very quick responses. If you have any pieces missing, there is a form to fill out which helps them locate pieces. You have referral codes which get you free shipping.
You can literally keep a set for months if you really like the build, you just keep paying monthly. Highly recommend.

I’ve had a really good experience with Brick Borrow so far! 🧱😊 I’m really enjoying the builds and think it’s such a great alternative to spending loads more of money buying LEGO sets — especially when you’ve ran out of room to keep them all! 😅
It definitely helps keep my LEGO-building addiction going without the house becoming completely overrun with LEGO 😂.
I did have one set where a couple of pieces were missing, but they sorted it out within a reasonable amount of time, so no complaints there.
The only downside is that you have to be a member for 3 months before you can borrow the larger builds, which is a little disappointing when you’re excited to get stuck into one! 😂 But I completely understand why they have that rule.
I’m really enjoying it so far and can’t wait until I can borrow one of the bigger builds. Definitely a great idea for LEGO lovers!
