DHL cancelled delivery twice for no reason

Great deal, great price. Unfortunately let down by DHL. They courier has now had the parcel for 4 days.
Emailed updates, emailed delivery date, emailed cancelled delivery on 2 separate working days, latest email says delivery this Monday. Cash Convertors charged £4.99 delivery which is a joke.
My advice....check who they ship with, if it's DHL then recommendation is stay well away. I tried speaking to the Cash Converters branch to be told once it leaves the store it's out of their hands. Went on to suggest I chased DHL myself !
DHL has now delivered at 1230pm Monday.

You'll be chasing your own money — avoid the Hammersmith store

Ordered a Dell U2412M. They sent a Dell 2405FPW — a different monitor from 2006.

Flagged it immediately. They admitted the right one wasn't available, promised to collect the wrong one, then did nothing.

I offered alternative dates and kept it available every weekday for two weeks. Nobody came. I even copied in customer service — still nothing. Total silence.

Got my £33.98 back only after raising a PayPal dispute. They sent the wrong thing and then left me to chase my own money.

Useless. Avoid

Avoid this store if you value…

Avoid this store if you value communication. I originally purchased a Galaxy Watch here that had a persistent fault. After upgrading my phone, I re-purchased what turned out to be the exact same faulty watch without realizing it.

To make matters worse, it took 10 days to arrive, only to manifest the exact same issue: it connects to my phone but occasionally disconnects.

The store agreed to a refund, and the watch has been back in their possession since Saturday. However, my refund still has not been processed. I have emailed the store twice today for an update, and both emails have been completely ignored today 26/05/2026. They currently have both my money and the product. Appalling service.

My phone starting messing up last week…

My phone starting messing up last week which were an iPhone 13 the lovely gentlemen in the shop sent it off to be fixed they were honest and polite a few days later it came back fixed but due to a little iPhone 13 pandemic I asked if I could exchange and they were more than happy to assist me with this I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Plus and am over the moon very helpful staff deserve to be paid more as the shop was super busy but still helped me with patience and courtesy ☺️ this was Blackpool church street store

Liverpool London Road: No Returns Accepted don't buy anything if warranty is a must

This review is for Liverpool London Road Branch.

Been visiting this store for years. Never had a issue with it. As I pretty much just bought video games from this store over the years.

A couple of days ago. I went into this store. They had a batch of new stock it seemed. I noticed a New 3DS XL Animal Crossing Edition. I collect these things and the Animal Crossing Edition was one I needed. After a look over it while it was in the glass it looked clean with a mint screen.

After asking the staff member (Connor) about layby he mentioned he could knock £50 off the £250 price if I buy it outright. This was a really good price I accepted right away. I paid and immediately put it in my zipped pocket.

Once I got outside I got it out. Tried to power it up but it has no power. No problem just a flat battery. Had a look at the screen again and it was mint. Looked around the shell quickly noticed a small scratch on the front no problems it's expected. I then went down the road to the post office.

After the post office I had a sit down in a local cafe for a coffee and decided to have a real good look at the 3DS I just bought. Once again I was impressed with the mint screen and the actual 3ds it's self it was clean. Just had that small scratch on the front plate or so I thought. I then noticed the tiny and fairly faint crack on one of the hinges. If this crack was anywhere else on the shell it wouldn't of bothered me. But with it being on the hinge. Something that is constantly in use when you open and close the 3ds. This would get worse over time. At this point it was 45 mins after I purchased. So I decided to call and inform them I was going to come back for a refund as a crack on the hinge is really not good. The guy (Connor) said we will see what we could do.

15 minutes I had arrived back at the store. Connor immediately explained about warranty and how once they take things in they take pictures of the device and after reviewing the picture he couldn't see a crack. So I challenged this and asked him to show me the pictures. He then claimed "it was in someone else's account" he can't access.

So in the 15 minutes of me calling to me arriving back at the store. He has reviewed these photos and then no longer had access to these photos after reviewing them. This is absolute lies. I don't dispute they take photos of each item they buy in. I have sold to this store plenty of times. A few years ago I sold them a standard ds as well as a psp and all they did was take a photo using a really rubbish webcam front and back of both devices. So close up of hinges or even photos of hinges at all.

So he wouldn't budge on giving me a refund. 1 hour after purchase. I could somewhat understand if I had it a few days and used it a lot. But I haven't even had the chance to take it home and charge it never mind use it.

After back and forth and him just giving me absolutely no actual reason to give me a refund. We compromised ill exchange it for something else. I was going to buy a PS5 slim that week brand new for £380. I noticed they had a new model slim that couldn't of been any more than 3 months old for £280. So I paid the extra £80 and got it. Somewhat happy in the end. But Cash Converters return police is sickening. Staff in my opinion telling lies about pictures and accounts is has really put me off from even browsing that store again never mind buying from them. Apparently this ps5 has 12 months warranty. I very much doubt it. If something went wrong with it today and I needed a repair and replacement. Cash Converters London Road would wash there hands of it. The warranty is imaginary. Lucky enough the PS5 I bought has 10 months warranty left with Sony so I'm covered by them at least.

The staff are great when they are trying to sell something to you. But if you ever need to bring something back you might as well just try and repair your self. It would be easier and less frustrating than dealing with the staff.

So if you ever visit the Liverpool London Road store. Don't buy anything electrical or over £20.

[17/05/2026, 08:20:11] Lin: I am a long-term, loyal customer who has spent thousands of pounds with Cash Converters, but my recent experience at the Barking store has been absolutely shocking.I suffered a severe medical emergency and am currently recovering alone, physically unable to travel. I proactively contacted the store to inform them of my sudden health crisis and vulnerability. Instead of showing basic human empathy or the flexibility required by FCA consumer guidelines, the store manager, Cristian, used aggressive high-pressure tactics.Cristian explicitly threatened me over the phone, stating that if I did not physically come into the shop, my items would be sold. He completely ignored my medical situation and went ahead and sold one of my items anyway. He is now refusing to hold my remaining items while I am incapacitated.To threaten and pressure a customer who is dealing with a documented medical crisis alone is unacceptable and cruel. I have escalated this aggressive behaviour to Cash Converters Head Office, Trading Standards, and the Financial Ombudsman Service.Avoid this Barking branch. Cristian has zero respect for customer loyalty or consumer vulnerability laws

I have been a highly loyal, long-term customer at this specific store, generating thousands of pounds for their business over the years. Yet, the moment I faced a genuine life crisis, I was treated with complete contempt.I recently suffered a severe medical emergency. I am dealing with this health crisis entirely alone, with no friends or family nearby to assist me, and I am physically incapacitated and unable to travel to the shop. Being a responsible customer, I proactively contacted the store to announce my medical crisis and formally notify them of my vulnerable situation.Instead of showing basic human decency or the mandatory forbearance required by financial regulations, the manager, Cristian, chose to subject me to intense psychological pressure. When I spoke to him on the phone, he used blatant intimidation tactics. He aggressively told me that if I did not physically walk into the store, my items would be sold immediately. He completely refused to grant a temporary hold, despite knowing I was under medical restriction.Cristian then carried out his threat and sold one of my personal items. He did this knowing full well that I was incapacitated. To make matters worse, he is actively refusing to freeze my remaining items on the system, continuing his high-pressure tactics while I am trying to recover from a medical emergency.To bully and financially penalize a sick person who is entirely on their own is a disgusting way to run a business. This store has completely breached FCA guidelines regarding the fair treatment of vulnerable consumers. I have officially logged this harassment with Cash Converters Head Office, and I am escalating a full case to the Financial Ombudsman Service and Trading Standards to investigate Cristian's conduct. Do not trust this branch with your items—they care only about profit and will exploit you when you are at your lowest.

Another great buying experience

Another great buying experience. Used this site to purchase so many good deals over years from tech to jewellery. This recent item was online from the Warrington branch a brand new series 11 Apple watch (advertised as opened in store,) at a lot better price than buying elsewhere. I also like that I could pay by PayPal and take advantage of pay in 3. As usual delivery was super quick, Royal Mail Special delivery. Item was as described and I like the no quibble guarantee with this company reassuring if something happens.

Iwona/Terry from the Hounslow branch…

Iwona/Terry from the Hounslow branch were all very very very professional, polite, courteous and patient willing to help throughout the week I visited.....my only negative comment is towards Diana, please be mindful when you ask any customer who arrives waiting in a que, who has informed you I have a prebooked appointment (there is a reason to advertise for others to hear our conversation (i.e they all heard you saying I have a large amount of jewellery that will take time and if I wish to leave it and come back later, I said no as this was the reason why I booked the appointment instead).
I felt very uncomfortable, scared and afraid to leave this site after my appointment because of this.
It's a brilliant site to visit otherwise and there is privacy area for selling large amounts for no one to see or hear (pre book if large amounts), and a excellent quote given, I sold majority of of my items during the hour. Definitely recommend this company who offer more than the high street companies I visited before hand.

I will be back and you truly deserve success and hope you expand much much much more, I trust you and you were very reasonable to the price I expected to valuable items of decades.

First class service at Louth

I cannot fault cashconverters at Louth. Their commitment to their customers is second to none.

I bought a laptop and was told if I had any problems to pop back and see them. But that was two years ago and they were under no obligation to help me now. However, I visited the shop this morning and they were only too happy to assist. Nothing was too much trouble and they got me back up and running in no time.

Thank you Abi and JP for taking the time to help an old technophobe like me. Service with a smile! I'm very grateful and will not hesitate to recommend you to others.

RUDE EMPLOYEE (MARK) - EDMONTON - BE AWARE

I went to the Edmonton store on 11/03, and was served by Mark. I asked him if there’s any discount on the camera I wanted to purchase and his mannerism/body language wasn’t polite. He started by saying it’s a “franchise”, and other irrelevant words. There was no harm in myself, a customer asking as I’ve had not any problems at any other Cash Converters, whether they’re a franchise or not. Anyways, I went ahead with the purchase of £74.99. He was also unpleasant to another customer, he said “you’re waving this in my face”. I completed the purchase at 14:25.

I returned back on 13/03, as I had seen a G Shock watch in the window on the same day I purchased the camera. I was initially served by another colleague, who had put the watch behind the till whilst I made my decision. Then once my decision was made, I was served by Mark again. The watch in the window was displayed with a box, and therefore I asked Mark at the time of purchase about this. He said “it doesn’t come with a box, as we have to pay for them”. He then proceeded to give me the box, as he said he’ll let me have it. If the box doesn’t come with any of the watches, this should be made very clear in the front window so the customer is aware. I need there to be consistency so I know for future whether a customer should have a box or not with a watch. I completed the purchase at 15:24.

The following day, I went to use the G Shock watch, and noticed that when the G button is pressed, it wouldn’t illuminate which means the battery is on its way out, and needs replacing. Therefore, I contacted the store about this matter on 14/03, that I would be coming back in the next 1 or 2 weeks, especially with me not living nearby.

I went back to the Edmonton store on 03/04, to get the issue regarding the battery sorted. I went to Mark, as he was free on the till. I said “Remember this watch, the battery is dead”. He started to say you have 14 days, to which I stated I have 12 months warranty, a battery wouldn’t die out within one day after I purchased the watch. Aggressively, he started to say “I’m not serving you, goodbye, waving his hands in my face”. He also started to walk off and said “stop talking”. I asked him to repeat what he said and that’s what he repeated. There no was need for this unfriendly interaction.

Jason started to say “When was the email sent?”, to which I replied “14th March, and my name is Peter”. He was able to locate the email, and assist me further by getting the watch battery replaced at the shop next door with his colleague. I did have to remind him of my travel costs, to which he gave back £5. That was all Mark had to do, not cause any of this unnecessary drama over a trivial issue.
I spoke with Jason about Marks attitude, and he agreed he’d have a word with him.

I informed Cash Converters about the above information, and they acknowledged POS needs to be added, and some changes will be made to ensure customers know what they're purchasing.

However, they seem to believe Marks behaviour towards customers is acceptable, which it is not!

What Cash Converters need to understand is customers are the ones who pay their salaries, and also keep Cash Converters open as a business. In this economy, there's no room for errors/unethical behaviour towards customers as they have buyer power on where they want to shop and spend their money.

I hope they ensure future customers in all stores are treated with respect, and a good attitude.

Brought a cheap mobile phone motorola…

Brought a cheap mobile phone motorola from staines branch, as my daughter just broke hers. Got it home it is looked to net work all there phones are meant to be unlocked!?
I called spoke to Alex and asked if he would unlock it for me he said it takes weeks. So I asked if he would pay me the £20 and I will unlock it.
He said no come in for a refund and the phone will be written off anyway ??
So I've had to come into your shop twice pay petrol and parking and your going to write the phone off anyway but not let me keep it and pay for unlock ? Cheers for nothing you sold a locked phone surely you should rectify this ???

Great Staff
