This company works in conjunction and as a merchant for foodhub. Foodhub is an online grocery and fast food ordering platform. Even though Datman takes the payment from the customer through the app for the goods the customer has purchased and my business has no details of the payment etc. But when there is a chargeback and my business had 5 or 6 in a few days, amounting to a lot of money, then the problem becomes the retailers. So this amounts to fraud by Datman. We have to pay the customer back. There is a lot of mistakes here by Datman due to regulations, PCI DSS compliance, which we have not done and so forth. A lot of trouble for Datman just on this technicality. Don’t want to reveal too much here also as you may understand if reading this. On top of this they send you a email to go and directly approach the customer to get the money back. I didn’t go due to my and my staffs safety and welfare. Honestly it’s all in the emails. I am looking to take this further and even though this will take time and effort, I will be raising a class action lawsuit against Datman and Foodhub. I will be using a company called Leigh Day based in London. They work on a no win no fee basis and hopefully others will see this and look out for Leigh Day raising this injustice. It will take a lot of time and effort from me, so anyone reading this and who has been in the same situation as me, please be patient and you will hear more soon.

You are right, we are Foodhub's payment processors, as it says on the card form while making a payment.

The email you got for the chargeback ensures transparency, so you are aware.

As for reaching out to the customer, we had good success rates with stores reaching out to their customers as at times the customer is unhappy and has raised a chargeback (dispute) for not receiving good food, etc.

Not all disputes are raised due to fraud and hence it is important for us to strike a good balance of strict declines (adding friction to end customers for paying for their food) against letting fraud through the door.

It is also worth mentioning that Datman fights ALL chargebacks raised on any account with us (including Foodhub stores) with evidence that we can produce, including the invoice for food, the delivery receipt (if one is present), past transactions from the same customer and much more, so that the merchant wins the money back.

The email you have received would mention if the chargeback is just raised and is being fought for OR you have lost it and the funds are gone.

We have a good win rate of more than 60%, indicating a high chance of the money coming back to you once the case is closed.

As for the weekly rent, that is mentioned in your contract with Foodhub and Datman individually from the day you start trading.

The rent is not fixed and can be finalised when the account is onboarded.
