D2 Awful Customer service/actions no refund

Since end of Feb I have been chasing D2 for a refund for hotel booking in Dubai.
I confirmed with hotel that reservation could be cancelled for 8 March 7 nights for nil charge by agent and also after this confirmed again with hotel that both reservations had been cancelled .
Despite many hrs waiting for D2 to answer the phone on many calls,lots and lots of E mails which were 90% ignored or just answered with generic answers thru eventually sent vouchers. When I asked for a cash refund they advised they would come back with an update within 14 days - nothing happened however what was there to review- I then managed to get through to someone that was basically silent on the phone I believe overwhelmed and not knowing what to say other than a priority team were dealing so she could not discuss - all I believe delaying tactics . Then I managed 2 days later to be told they would escalate . To be then again sent the vouchers . By this time I had asked for cash refunds multiple times - this was ignored . I have no choice now but to continue to do a S 75 through credit card company.D2 I booked many times over many years - you now have no trust from me and I could never use y again . Additionally my job rate is £100 per hr I have had to take time from my job to try to get you currently around 2 days would you like this charged to you also !!

Nadine took the time to understand our concerns and what exactly what we wanted. She tailored our holiday booking to perfection listening and advising along the way.
I would whole heartedly recommend Nadine from a knowledge and aptitude perspective.

I highly recommend destination2 and…

I highly recommend destination2 and Nadine for her outstanding service and professionalism. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer any questions I had. She took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and found the best available deals to suit my needs.

Throughout the entire process, she made me feel completely at ease and confident in my travel plans.
Her attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set them apart. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the services again or recommend them to others.

Gavin was amazing both in terms of understanding my holiday requirements and doing his best to accommodate my budget. Gavin is a credit to the company as he is professional, friendly and patient I would definitely recommend!

Still no sign of our refund

We are still waiting for a refund of over £2500 for our holiday to Abu Dhabi which was cancelled due to the conflict in the Middle East. They rang us on March 17th to ask if we wanted to transfer the holiday or have a refund. So far, so good but since then despite one email confirming the refund would be processed in due course, we have heard nothing and it has proved impossible to talk to anyone from the refunds department. We have booked several holidays with D2 in the past and have never had an issue with them. However on this occasion we are extremely disappointed and frustrated at their lack of communication and the length of time it is taking to refund our money. If an update could be provided I would be very grateful.

This is the 3rd time I've used…

This is the 3rd time I've used destination 2 they have always been on point. I would highly recommend this company for your holidays. If you are looking for a stress free and a professional service look no further. Customer service Nikita was brilliant with me.

We put the ages of our children in when…

We put the ages of our children in when booking the holiday. The booking was accepted but not confirmed even though two transactions for the same amount had gone out of my account, reaching my credit cards maximum spent. D2 then rings to say we need to pay £920 more because the hotel deems anyone over the age of 12 an adult. D2 did not help us at all, even though their systems didn’t support the hotel! We ended up paying again on a separate credit card as they said they had voided the 2 transaction but it was pending for a week! We decided to change the destination of our holiday because of FCDO’s advice against all essential holidays to the Middle East, despite that we were charged £25 admin charge per person!

Fantastic Holiday Booking Experience

Booking our holiday with one of the travel experts was easy, stress-free, and enjoyable. The service was friendly, professional, and personalised, with great advice to help us find the perfect holiday. Everything was handled smoothly from start to finish. Based on my most recent review

I’ve been assured and have your full guarantee over email that I will recieve a full cash refund but in your last comment on my review you are now saying this needs to be investigated about the refund. Why the change in tone?

I keep experiencing delays and pushback on my refund which is extremely infuriating and is leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth. I feel like I’ve given you enough time to process and push through my refund but as each day goes on, it’s becoming more unacceptable the service. I’d like my cash back I’ve been guaranteed.

First class customer support

First class customer support from Preeti, who demonstrated empathy and understanding regarding our concerns in flying to Singapore via Dubai. Preeti offered an immediate solution to our problems with a direct flight and we're once again looking foward to our holiday.

Dreadful Customer service

We booked our Maldives resort with Destination2. we actually paid extra to be able to talk to someone rather than do it all online.
However, when the Middle east erupted and our flights via Doha were looking doubtful I tried calling and emailing Destination2 for 2 days. No answer. Extremely frustrating. Eventually I had an email saying they were too busy to talk to us as our holiday was not for 3 weeks. The reply -

'We do ask that you appreciate that our timescales for reply are impacted as we deal with customers who are in resort or travelling very soon. Our priority is to support them which we do in departure date order. This process in line with our normal policy for support.
You will therefore not receive further response from us.'

Not helpful. We contacted the resort ourselves and arranged with them direct that we could take the holiday anytime up to end of September 2026. Relief!
However, we managed to change our flights with BA to direct flights therefore avoiding Doha at no charge and subsequently had a lovely holiday in the Maldives.
