Where to begin. I exchanged phone calls with the sales rep there (John) at Endeavour Hyundai. Nice and professional enough on the phone. He called me back and seemed to want the sale. More than some other call dealearships so that seemed good. He sent videos of the car as well.
We arranged for my wife and I to come see the car yesterday with the intention and hopes to drive it home.
They even offered to refund our train tickets. Another good sign.
When we got there, we asked to take it for a test-drive. He seemed surprised we would want to and the car wasn't ready but buried behind other cars. I kept him abreast a few times of our ETA over our 2 hour journey from outside of London.
My wife and I inspect the car. There is a large gash that wasn't apparent in the video. When asked, he made a comment about how their were lots of elderly people around the area and they don't take care of cars. He then hops in the car with us for the test drive. We would have preferred to take it out by ourselves so we could have a close look at it without being incumbered by the sales rep.
When we simple questions about the car, he seemed to no know anything, even that the car itself was a hybrid and told us wrong information about the hybrid Tuscon model like how the car indicates it is a hybrid on the outside and the fuel economy.
As we go in to negotiate the deal, we notice the mileage is way off. He blames his "old" colleague for not putting the info in correctly and says he always does that.
Then, we get to the warranty questions. I ask point blank about the Hyundai 1 year warranty and he tells me that I'd have to look it up online! I might think that was okay if this was a used car lot with tons of makes and models but this is a Hyundai Dealership!
Finally, the last straw was in regards to the accident and damage history. He told me the desk that handles that is already closed and they go home early. It wasn't even 5pm yet!
Everything from start to finish was either not his fault or he didn't know. He blamed others. He didn't take ownership. He wasn't prepared to show us the car or make the deal even though I'd been in communication with several times on the phone and indicated to him that we were coming up to purchase the car provided there were no reasons for concern. It took my wife and I 7 hours to get there and back by train with no car and we were out circa £100.
When I told him that I couldn't make a deal with him, his parting words to me was "I wouldn't make a deal with us either".
The cherry on top was that he said he'd pay for our tickets if we came up. I clarified if they still would if we chose not to purchase the car. He confirmed that would be the case, so long as there was good reason for not wanting to purchase the car. I think, a material change in mileage, gashes on the car not shown on the video, and a lack of materializing history on the car is fair reason for concern.
Update: Endeavor refunded the cost of my wife and my travel as they originally communicated they would. It took some cajoling, but they did pay in the end and I promised I would update this.
We brought our car to Volvo West London in August 2024 due to the alarm system going off multiple times day & night for no reason. We were advised that an electronic diagnostics would be necessary. Apparently this took place and flagged NOTHING. Even though the alarm was still going off a lot and even went off when I as on site. This cost me £348.00 & my request for a report was refused. This is an extortionate amount of money for NO WORK DONE !!!!!! And how is it that an allegedly very advanced systems couldn't find a fault ????
A conversation took place discussing possible causes and we asked for advice on solutions. This was not forth coming even when we suggested the battery or the bonnet (which I have read can be causes for unexplained alarm triggers). The technician did not seem interested in pursuing these options, appearing to have no idea how to progress. His only suggestion was a further manual diagnostics or another kind of test which would cost yet more money. Another week passed while the manual diagnostics took place which again flagged nothing.
We were therefore forced to pay for no work done and no solution which we are livid about.
Since taking the car to a local mechanic, we received an almost instant diagnostics report. Parts were fixed/replaced & the alarm no longer sounds.
I don't believe any work was carried out on my car especially since I was refused a report for my records. And Volvo West London was unable to solve the issue. In addition the customer service fell very short of what I would expect from Volvo.
We have since made a complaint to Volvo West London who only responded partially to our query. It has been almost a month and they have ignored us since, despite us following up.
Please do NOT buy a Volvo car and do NOT use Volvo West London. They are a DISGRACE.
Staff promise to call you back in regards to getting a new car but they didn't bother .
Customer services has really dropped.
Very disappointed
Went somewhere else to get my car
Why bother - they outsource work to Halfords across the road... You might as well just go to Halfords direct and pay a lot less…in my case, I took my XC90 to Endeavour for a service and MOT on Monday morning. Was called at 5pm that day to say they hadn’t done the MOT but would do it on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday was told that the car needed a new tyre and 4 wheel alignment. This came to £493 (£100 more than Halfords). Tried to call for an update on Weds afternoon - having had no update - and there was no answer. I then decided to go there and see what was going on (I could see on the Volvo app that my car was no longer at Endeavour). Imagine my surprise when I saw my car parked on the Halfords forecourt. I asked the Halfords mechanic why my car was there and he said Volvo had sent it over for a wheel alignment. If I’d wanted it done at Halfords (along with the service/ MOT) I would have taken it there myself and paid a lot less. The wheel alignment alone was charged by Volvo for £120 - the Halfords price was £74.99. So I’ll never bother spending the premium again at Volvo if they end up sending the car to Halfords. The customer service at Volvo was then rude and unapologetic - and compounded by the fact that I then had to wait 30 mins for the car - firstly because it was parked at Halfords, then they presented me with an incorrect invoice which had to be redone, and key was then “mislaid”. I know plenty of people with Volvos in the area and will be sure to warn them off going to Endeavour, and I won’t be going back.
I went to endeavour Hyundai in Croxley to arrange the trade in of 2 cars and purchase of an SUV replacement. Andy the locum salesman was excellent, he suggested that rather than a second hand Jaguar F Pace I look at the Omoda.
I had never heard of them so did a quick online search and decided to have a look I then went to Endeavour Omoda in Watford. The guys there were very helpful and after a test drive and a chat walked out with an agreement to.purchase the Omoda 5 Noble petrol version.
I have had the car just over a week and am very satisfied so far not only that I purchased a new vehicle with 7 year warranty instead of a 3 or 4 year old better known one but with the service I received from all the people at Endeavour.
I reviewed this company on google, looks like it was taken down. I visited (or tried to) two weeks ago. No parking, no signage, I got a ticket for parking down the road. Their saving grace was the nice attitude of the guys in the showroom who were very apologetic. Not a way to sell 100k plus cars..
My key batteries needed changing. The handbook didn't provide any help so I called Endeavour Hyundai North London. I was told that if it was not done properly the key would fall apart. 'Bring it in,' he said 'and we will do it for you whilst you wait. No charge.'
Well, I brought in both keys, they did indeed change the batteries for 'no charge', but refused to show me how they did it, and charged £10.87 for EACH CR2032 battery which cost £5 for a Duracell two-pack in Tesco (or £8 for a four-pack).
I assume they buy at rather more competitive prices, but even if they pay £2 (including VAT) they made about £7.40 per key battery change, net of VAT. That's almost £15 for 5 minutes work, or £180 per hour. Not bad for allegedly not charging for the work.
A positive experience at the Watford branch when test driving and buying a 2021 Hyundai Kona 64kwh. All questions answered accurately and Sarfaraz, Jacob and Mark even balanced the wheels foc on my wife's car that I had used to visit the branch.
It is impossible to get through to the service team at Volvo West London. My car broke down and was taken there by Volvo Assist, but even after 3 days of repeatedly calling and leaving messages, Volvo West London denied that they even had my car! Eventually Volvo Assist helped me track the car, confirm it had been signed for at the dealer, and was not simply missing. Oh, and I don't have a replacement hire car, because they cancelled it after just one day. When I finally got Service on the phone, they estimated 7-10 MORE days before they can even look at the car, much less repair it. Volvo West London has had the car for 2 weeks so far, and no word. I wish I had seen these reviews before having my car towed there. They are just not providing even the basic services customers are paying for. Very unprofessional. We will be going elsewhere in the future. Volvo is supposed to deliver on the high quality and dependability of the brand - the service at this flagship London branch just does not match.
(Have since heard Slough branch does better.)
I had a warranty issue with my Hyundai that never got resolved. In over a year the garage effectively done nothing despite being chased.
The Hyundai was actually a good car and I would have another - but I couldn’t deal with a dealership as poor as this.
The warranty claim was accepted but I suspect the dealership has no intention of carrying it out. If they told me that from day one it would have been easier as all they achieved was to waste my time for 12 months with their ineptitude.
It’s impossible to get through to the service team. My car had a breakdown and was sent to Volvo Chiswick on 10th Sep and till date (today is 28th sep) I am told they have not even managed to have a look at the car!!
Was told that it will take them a week to look at my car. I was entitled for a hire car as part of my Volvo on call subscription, that took me atleast a dozen calls to get it sorted. Since then, I have tried to call them several times to understand how long it will take them to repair my car. No one picks the phone and we are just left at their mercy to get back to us when they fancy.
Really unprofessional and poor service.
Last they have said it will take another two weeks for someone to look at the car and tell us!!
We bought the car from this dealership itself and now years later the time when we need them to help us fix it they have shown the gravest inconsideration, caused us so much inconvenience (we have been without a car for nearly 3 weeks) and refusal to provide any support after repeated requests. If there is someone who can help us escalate this please please contact me.
I wish I could give deep or negative stars.
If you have a Volvo or Polestar do not go anywhere near this dealership. I booked my company leased Polestar 2 in for same day collection, service and delivery. The car was collected in the morning and serviced. In the afternoon the service department called to advise of a payment problem due to the computer saying ‘no’. They told me my car was not leased and refused to call the lease company to investigate. I arranged for the lease company to contact the service department, but they did it provide the information needed to make payment. I tried calling the service team throughout the afternoon, but the chances of answer are about 2 in 10. When they do answer you are then put through to a phone that doesn’t answer or a voicemail box. At the eight attempt I got through at 17:15 to pay the bill myself. I was then told that they would not deliver the car back as all the drivers had gone home. Despite my explanation that I had a need for the car over the weekend they also refused to give me 15 minutes time past closing to collect the car myself. Net result was a ruined weekend where the car was needed for an important family occasion. DO NOT use this dealer under any circumstances. They literally don’t care and have zero customer service commitment.
I bought an XC90 ''approved used'' car from Volvo Watford before the name/address change. Endless issues in the first few months and cost to myself within the first 12 months despite it being ''approved''. Door lock jamming so I couldn't get my baby out of the car, paint flaking off when I first washed the rear bumper, their ''refurbished'' alloys which the paint just washed off on one wheel, the smell of fumes inside the car, leaking oil, sawn off tyre pressure valves, not putting the vehicle details/services/checks on the volvo system for any other volvo garage to see, rude service department, and the list goes on. My local volvo garage put the other major mechanical issues bill at £5k to fix as most things were not covered under the approved used Selekt warranty. I contacted watford volvo and they agreed to pay one of the bills which was under £50 but nearly a year later they still ignore my calls and emails and never paid. The smell of fumes was attempted to be fixed on warranty locally, but someone had put the wrong bolt on in the past and it has rusted so heavily they could not remove the part. It is clear the car was never checked properly. I have raised a complaint via Volvo UK and 1 month later despite Volvo UK telling them to respond to me they still haven't. Either they have so many complaints to deal with or they have no respect and really don't care about safety or their customers!
Went to Volvo endeavour in Slough Was a pleasure to check in at this branch. Met a top guy Callum finlay sales very helpful and such a asset to the work force and always makes you feel welcomed and well looked after. He is such an asset to Volvo and his team
VOLVO Chiswick West London SCAM
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the service I received at Volvo Chiswick West London Branch (115 Power Road, London W4 5PY) on my wife’s Volvo XC60.
On Tuesday, 27th August, I brought the vehicle in specifically to replace the back door lock. I was surprised to receive an email quoting £630 for diagnosing the issue, despite my clear instructions that only the lock needed replacement.
After contacting customer service and explaining the situation, it was agreed that there would be no £630 charge for diagnosing and only the back lock would be replaced as requested.
On Thursday, 29th August, I called the service desk and was informed that the car was ready for collection, with a total cost of just under £410. Given that the lock itself cost £162.50 + VAT, I felt this was quite high, but I accepted the charge and planned to collect the car before closing time. However, I was told over the phone that the person responsible for the department had already left, and I was advised to call the next day.
I made multiple attempts to follow up on Friday, 30th August, but despite assurances that someone would return my call, this never happened. I tried again on Monday and finally, on Tuesday, I managed to arrange the collection of my vehicle. To my shock, I was presented with an invoice for £1,035.
When I questioned this, the service department insisted it was correct. They refused to acknowledge the invoice of £410 I was told by the service department just a few days earlier and with no extra work done over the weekend as the car was ready.
Despite my objections, I needed the car and with no resolution in sight I was forced to pay the inflated amount, minus a 10% discount offered by the manager, who displayed an unprofessional attitude.
It has become clear to me that my car was ready on Thursday, 29th August, at a quoted price of £410, but was fraudulently held over the weekend to justify the exorbitant final charge.
This experience has severely damaged my trust in Volvo, and I will not be returning to this branch. I am also considering selling the vehicle and avoiding Volvo altogether.
I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when dealing with Volvo Car West London, as my experience suggests that the management and service department may not operate with integrity.
Absolutely awful service which has been deteriorating over the last few years. I am a lifelong Volvo & endeavour customer on the pay monthly service plan. They have become ever more inflexible first stopping the free pick up / drop off service, charging for it, then saying it’s fully booked if you don’t book months in advance. Then never having a courtesy car available and now CHARGING for the car. Last year I was ten weeks POSTPARTUM and I begged for a pick up / drop off service. They refused saying they were fully booked. I was shaking driving for the first time after giving birth. They have no common sense and can’t seem to have a proper conversation with them. Today I left my car first thing to be serviced. I didn’t hear back for hours. From 3pm I’m calling and calling. I finally told minutes before they’re closing that I won’t have my car today. I beg and plead asking them to just drop the car back or allow me to come collect it but they are so inflexible. They act as if they’re doing you a favour and I’m a full paying customer. I am sick of waiting for them to call back, sick of trying to reason with them, even when you pre-book they still sit on it and don’t do the service quickly. It was unforgivable how they treated me when I was so early post partum and I will never forgive them for it. Volvo and endevour have lost my custom
What started as a nightmare during the check in process was made better by the after sales manager actually conversing with me.
Aafter being told that there was no courtesy car and then magically one was available but at double cost than when it was originally booked 8 weeks before the visit for a recall and 2 year service .
I left after 2 hours as I couldn’t keep the loan car overnight so had to wait whilst they did the work.
Overall disappointed but made better when I was told about the problems they face and they are looking to improve.
It is important in a customer service industry to have a connection between customer and vendor to smooth things over.
I left satisfied with the experience but not too sure if I will continue with the brand/dealer due to the visit today.
Appalling from start to finish. Do not recommend at all. Now see that staff and Managers are reviewing themselves on various sites, which says a lot!
Promises are a plenty until they get your money, then they do not deliver, and back track. Car was not in a good condition, not as shown in the "Honest" video that I requested. Nothing resolved. Had to return the car.
Disappointment is an inevitable part of a customer experience at Volvo North West London. It will occur when promises do not meet timelines and results fall short of expectations, or when a purchase is not achieved related to deficient communication and intolerable incompetence in the sales department in particular.
For anyone considering Volvo North West London; bear in mind the problems that will inevitably arise, it is important to withhold your feeling of intense exasperation and express your disappointment in a professional manner in place of infuriating rage. Doing so will preserve your wellbeing and provide you with constructive thoughts that will encourage you to approach the problem by purchasing a vehicle from an alternative dealership or an alternative brand.
Therefore, when you reach the inevitable distress point with Volvo North West London for the particular service they will fail you on, don’t be despondent with their absent skill and care, address them without sounding rude and offensive, find another dealership or make/brand that works for you.
I did however take a Volvo for a test drive and found it to be a simple but lovely car, but this dealership in particular is likely to ruin your new car purchase experience and test your patience. I’m assured that not everybody would be subjected to such hardship through mismanagement and substandard skill and care.
I would like give my experience with the Endeavour Automotive North west (Watford). After sales service is very bad. If we call them, they wont answer the call. When we let them know the problem of our car, they say they will call us back but they will never call back. If they promise you something when you take the car, do not believe it as they never keep their promises. Now Endeavour Volvo Watford owes me £180.00. For the last two months, I sent Emails several times, to this date they haven't given back. So if you would like to buy a car from Endeavour Volvo Watford, think 10 times. Thank you
