Ordered flat cap for dad’s birthday. Arrived quickly and lovingly packaged. Extremely well made with good quality tweed and a good weight to it. Received a thumbs up dad who has seen the old flat cap in his time. Very happy

Lovely choice of British rare breed sheepskin rugs, the choice we made was just what we were looking for and looks beautiful in our lounge, the finishing touch, Edward was so helpful, his customer service is great and not at all pushy. We are planning a few days holiday in Lancashire and hopefully we are going to visit Clapham and the shop as it looks so interesting and possibly purchase another rug.

My husband bought me a pair of slippers. I’m a north Yorkshire lass so was delighted they were from Yorkshire. The quality is excellent, a lovely colour and the sheepskin/wool is very comfortable and far better than modern synthetic materials. The look great! I have no doubt, we’ll order more from you!

I ordered a Herdwick sheepskin over the Christmas period and it arrived promptly on 2nd January. It's great to know that the sheepskin is British and also tanned and prepared in Britain. Sheepskin tanning is very rare in Britain, so it's encouraging to see that it's still being done.
The skin is exactly the same one as pictured on the website. There was advice on caring for the skin included in the packaging. The skin is gorgeous and I'm absolutely thrilled with it.

Paid a visit to the store in Clapham, as I had seen the shop online, and wanted to try a flat cap and maybe a scarf. As we were walking up to the shop the proprietor passed us in the street and told us he would be open up. After a quick introduction and explanation of the business he left us to it. We, initially, left with a hat, scarf and jumper for me, and a jumper for my other half. The selection of hats upstairs is something to behold. After saying our goodbyes we popped into the pub opposite, and one pint later went back to the Glencroft shop, leaving with another jumper for me, plus a jumper and a leather bag for my partner.
The choice and quality is very impressive, and the price is less than might be expected, especially when purchasing from the shop. Highly recommended and we will definitely be paying another visit.

Great to find a Yorkshire firm making flat caps, so I ordered a Norber Yorkshire wool tweed cap. Ordered in early December but due to the Post Office strike and Christmas, it took 4 weeks to arrive in Sweden. Lovely quality, size (XXL/62) is spot on, and a lovely hand written note from Rose. Surprised how warm I am when wearing my cap, and my better 1/2 loves it :-)

Excellent communications, well-packaged item with fast delivery. The item itself was superb and fitted perfectly (having checked with the website measuring tool), and I am absolutely delighted. The handwritten note was a lovely touch. I'm very happy and will certainly be shopping with Glencroft again.

Customer service is exemplary. I exchanged a wrong size item and it was delivered by return of post. Product is first class. Would highly recommend this independent company for excellent goods and services. Perfect.

The only problem was the late delivery which was a common issue with the Royal mail during Christmas holidays. The quality of the hat I ordered is exceptional and the size is ok. Big thanks for the quality provided. I guess if you give a tracking link for parcels parallel to the info after checkout will be a great advantage.

Question: Does an urban dwelling senior citizen in the US really need a new wool sweater from the UK?
Answer: Narrative follows

First, at some point I signed on to a wait list for the largest size of the Dales Sheep Aran Jumper to be made again, after seeing Glencroft’s gorgeous website while browsing one day. Not that I typically order the largest size of something, but I prefer all of my clothes baggy, with room for layers and room left over to move about comfortably. Just follow their handy size chart for your perfect fit.

One day, completely unexpectedly, I received an email from Edward telling me they were freshly made and ready for purchase. I ordered immediately, adding in the notes section that it was just in time for the perfect birthday gift. Within the hour, I received another email from Edward saying that my order was ready and would be in the post that day via registered mail with tracking!

One week later, my Dales Sheep Aran Jumper was in my hands in the US. Not only is it beautiful and smells of sheep (my cats approve), but I received a personal handwritten note from Rose thanking me for the purchase, for waiting on their list for more to be produced and for wishing whoever was receiving it a special birthday. Additionally, I enjoyed the literature enclosed about proper care, sustainability and the campaign for wool. And, I appreciate that it was shipped in an environmentally friendly paper bag which was plenty sturdy enough for its transatlantic journey.

Well, the birthday recipient was me. At old-lady age, I have to admit that I’ve never had a new wool sweater. For all of my adult life, I’ve only purchased used ones from secondhand shops. This is my first new wool sweater and I could not be happier!

The fit of the 2XL is perfect for my style of wear. I tried it on with two layers underneath and didn’t feel like a sausage. While it is not quite sweater weather here in the US (geographically, I’m just a bit south of Yorkshire), the temperatures dipped overnight and I did wear it out yesterday with multiple layers underneath for a ride on my e-scooter (even retirees can find this mode of transport fun) and was completely comfortable in the chilly morning breeze as I scooted about.

I feel as though I’ve stumbled backward in time and had a friendly and personal shopping experience with shopkeepers I’ve known for decades.

So, back to my original question: Does an urban dweller in the US really need a new wool sweater? Answer: yes, if it is from Glencroft.

Thanks to the lovely pattern and farm fresh smell, Glencroft has allowed me to experience my own mini Escape To The Country.

It was time for a new cap and I wanted tweed. My problem is I need a larger size than most retailers cater for. A web search led me to Glencroft based in glorious Yorkshire.
I’m pleased to say they had just what I was looking for at a very competitive price and in my size.
To cut to the chase my cap arrived - beautifully made, in the colour scheme I wanted and a great fit.
However, there was more. A really special personal note hand written by Rose on behalf of the Glencroft Team. It thanked me for my order and wished me well. Call me old fashioned if you like but it made be appreciate that although ordering on line, I had actually received exemplary personal customer service.

I have now bought four jumpers from this family firm and they are beautifully made. The honeycomb jumper is just brilliant. It is very warm, with the honeycomb stitching, but also very lightweight. So many thick woollen jumpers are very heavy to wear. The service is always very prompt and they take great pains to tell you how to get the best out of your jumper. A very nice touch is the personal handwritten note that accompanies your purchase.
