"seamless changeover" to lloyds…NOT!
"seamless changeover" to lloyds bank, they said, really!!,they've done away with passwords, now memorable info needed, used to be based on 3 questions i'd remember,so when it asks for my info, what's the question they're asking, tried to change the info which seemed easy until they need to verify the new details with a callback,"a 4 digit code is generated when you hit the call back button",the phone duly rings but no 4 digit code is shown!! been trying now for days, even tried on my other computer, absolutely useless, after over 4o years with the halifax i'm moving to nationwide.
Data Protection asking for my details publicly!!!
Under the Data Protection is it right for Halifax Staff to be publicity asking for your personal details the minute you walk into their place ?
It's like GP Surgery waiting to speak to someone, given no time at all. Just told to sit and wait for an hour to 45 minutes..
Really terrible service ..everyone looks fedup.
Lack of full staff Nd now Halifax is a Joke.
I think I will be leaving after being with them for over 18 years
Under GDPR I don't want my personal information publicly advertised in the Halifax store Would you ?

MARKS, AND MUCH LONGER IN LENTH .I AM DIGUSTED AT THE NEW LLOYDS.
Splitting up transactions was one of…
Splitting up transactions was one of the worst things Halifax has done, and I've just been informed it'll carry on when they transfer to lloyds. Instead of popping into the bank, waiting in line, and completing two tasks such as transferring to someone else's account and a withdrawal with one person. I now have to wait in two different queues, and see two different people. Something that would have taken 15 minutes now has me in the bank for half an hour, maybe longer. The staff are nice, they just have to put up with this nonsense as well as us. I was in the bank once when there was nobody

★☆☆☆☆ | One star — Broken promise and ridiculous excuse
By Scott Bryant — 18 September 2026
A member of the public found my wallet on Clapham Common and handed it in to Halifax Riverside branch. They initially agreed they'd post it back to me — I was so relieved someone honest had found it.
Then they called me to follow up — and completely changed their mind. "We can't send it — you need to come and collect it." When I asked why not? "There's no Post Office locally."
What a load of nonsense. This is a bank — they send out mail every single day. They have envelopes, they have stamps, they have a postal service — they just didn't want to be bothered. It would have cost them pennies. Instead, they expected me to travel across London at my own expense and inconvenience.
So they made a promise, then phoned me just to break it. And when I called to make a formal complaint, I waited 20 minutes, got transferred, then waited another 61 minutes just to get a case reference number. One hour of my life gone — for a stamp.
It's not about the wallet. It's about being told a blatant lie and being made to feel like an inconvenience. Shameful.

I am unfortunately unable to leave a negative star review.
I was purchasing a car, from a very reputable business. Tried to make the bank transfer, which was flagged as "potentially fraudulent". I had to call the fraud department. I have reasonable adjustments in place because I am autistic. Halifax have agreed that their advisers will allow me to speak without interrupting or speaking over me. I passed through security with the automated system, and eventually spoke to a woman. I was asked various questions about the vehicle and the company. I was then asked about a few previous transactions on my account. One of those was a payment of £10 sent to my 14 year old son. I was asked who the payment was to, and what it was for. Apparently telling them it was to my son, because he asked me for £10 was not good enough. I was then asked again "what was it for?". When I said what my son spends his money on is none of their business, the woman told me if I don't answer their questions, they would not approve the transfer, then promptly hung up on me. She constantly interrupted and spoke over me throughout the call, despite me reminding them of my reasonable adjustments.
I called back, and went through this whole process again, with a different advisor, I was again, constantly interrupted and spoken over. Eventually, this advisor said he would approve the transaction, and ended the phone call.
Then I received a text message saying that the payment was on hold, and I needed to call them.
Phone call number 3, the advisor seemed to either be in a vile mood,or just to be rude in general. He refused to allow me to speak to a manager numerous times, telling me that it "wasn't needed". I ended the call.
After paying for the car from my other bank (Monzo), I called back to register a formal complaint. Spoke to a manager (Declan?). He was extremely rude, constantly interrupting and speaking over me, then told me that he wasn't doing that. I asked him for the registered address of the company, which he refused to give. I explained that I am legally entitled to it as I have legitimate business with them. He told me that i have no right to the address, when I quoted the law that entitles me to this information, he told me he was giving me a "final warning" before disconnecting the call.
I am absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated, for trying to spend my own money.
I will be taking civil action under the Equality Act. When I have expressed this to them, I was offered £90 to make the complaint go away.
Tried to send transfer of my OWN earned…
Tried to send transfer of my OWN earned money to my own personal account with another bank (one that charges lower fees for international transactions) for my up coming holidays. Blocked my account 5 days I was on the phone trying to get access to my own account. I was then asked where the money come from even though they can see what money goes into my account every month. 4 of the 5 people I spoke to were unhelpful. Kept saying it was unblocked even though it wasn't.
Halifax and Lloyds are a total waste of…
Halifax and Lloyds are a total waste of space since merging with Lloyds!! I have been trying to transfer to Lloyds for my online banking as they have demanded. I have various accounts with them . I cannot get any joy from there chat lines or phoning up. It is impossible to speak to a human. They have closed all the nearby branches so I cannot call in person. This is a total disaster and I am concerned that I may loose all my money. I am not as concerned about my mortgage accounts as they can whistle for that money. This has all been going on over many attempts over the past couple of months
Excellent service from Halifax, Hounslow branch
I had to go to the Hounslow branch of Halifax on the 2nd of September and got hopelessly lost and reached the bank just as it was closing. I was desperate, as I needed to change my telephone number and could not do it online or by telephone, and without it I could not get into my online banking. I practically went down on my knees in the street, and the guy locking up kindly let me in. A lady called Mazda helped me. It took ages, and she was very, very patient with me. I would like to give her 5 stars. All the staff were standing waiting to go home before we finished.
Since Halifax changing online banking…
Since Halifax changing online banking to Lloyds I cannot access online banking. Tried several times, and had one code posted, but since the code posted, had advice several new codes sent, and nothing received. Cannot access my online banking, and the Barking Branch should have opened at 09:30, but wasn't, so had to give up, and go to work, as queue for the outside ATM was too long. Abosolute nightmare since changing online banking to Lloyds. USELESS!
Don't want to know unless using the app
I have been expecting an "invitation" for weeks to transfer my Halifax account to Lloyds. Nothing received. When I look at correspondence online I can see mention of clicking on a QR code to transfer to the Lloyds app.
I do not want the bl**dy app! I want to find a way to move to Lloyds Online Banking. Nothing anywhere. All help seems to be offered through the app.
Having been a Halifax customer for well over 50 years I am sad to see it go, but I have no desire to move to Lloyds. I am transferring my funds online to a different bank account leaving only a very nominal sum to keep the account active.
I went to the branch at Beverley VERY POOR SERVICE
I went to the branch at Beverley yesterday, (my branch has been closed), to update a detail with my account only to be met with NO counter open but told to sit and wait to be called and seen! I sat with six other people who were not too pleased with this system,ALL PENSIONERS like me, ALL were not pleased! After waiting 15 minutes and not being seen for a 2 minute job I left. A VERY POOR 'customer service'. Come on Halifax you can do better than this.

Dreadful company can not lot in and customers support 30 minutes wait now going into loyds will be moving my money to someone who wants my customer
The whole experience today was shocking
The whole experience today was shocking
I honestly cannot believe the queuing system at Halifax in Harrow.
What is the point of having so many staff present when there is only one counter open? There were a whole group of people who had already been to the front desk, only to be told to sit down and wait because “someone will come.” Meanwhile, customers are left standing around wondering what is actually happening.
I am currently awaiting an account summary printout and have already been here for 32 minutes. Something as simple as printing an account summary should surely be something that can be dealt with at the front desk and completed immediately, rather than requiring customers to sit and wait for someone to become available.
After 32 minutes, I asked how much longer I would have to wait for the account summary. The member of staff looked at the screen and simply said, “Well, there’s others in front of you, just wait.”
Really? Is there any need for this kind of rude and dismissive behaviour? I wasn't asking for special treatment — I was simply asking for an indication of how much longer I would be waiting after already sitting there for over half an hour. A little courtesy and basic customer service would not have gone amiss.
Even more concerning is the complete lack of privacy at the front desk. People are being dealt with in full view and earshot of everyone else, meaning you can hear personal and sensitive details about other customers’ banking. This seems particularly worrying when older and potentially vulnerable customers are involved. In my opinion, a setup like this could make the branch a scammer’s paradise.
There are several side offices, yet apart from one, they appear to be sitting empty. Why aren't these offices being used to speak to customers privately rather than having personal banking matters discussed at the front desk where everyone can hear?
And then there is the issue of the app. I completely understand that using the app may be quicker and easier for many customers, and staff are obviously encouraged to promote it. However, if a customer chooses not to use the app, the attitude from some staff can noticeably change. Customers should not feel as though they are being a nuisance simply because they prefer to deal with their bank in person.
Not everyone trusts banking apps or feels comfortable using them, and there should still be a proper, respectful service available for those customers. If Halifax is going to maintain physical branches and employ staff to assist customers, then surely those customers should actually be able to receive that assistance without being made to feel as though they are doing something wrong by not using the app.
The whole experience makes you seriously question why you would continue to bank here. A bank should provide an efficient service, but just as importantly, it should provide customers with dignity, security, privacy and a choice in how they manage their banking.
I really think Halifax needs to look seriously at how this branch is being operated, particularly its queuing system, staffing arrangements, customer privacy and the way customers who choose not to use the app are treated.
After this experience, I genuinely have to ask: why are we banking here?
All in all for future customers this lto get a statement of your accounts I GAVE UP AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR.... WARNING YOU NEED ALL DAY TO BANK HERE.
More training is needed for them as whatever training they are being provided is not good enough
Halifax is not fit for purpose
Halifax is not fit for purpose, I’ve had multiple payments blocked this week and have had to spend hours on the phone for them to still reject the payments. They even blocked a payment to a business account in my name. Staff are working from home leaving customers open to data breaches; if I can hear someone making dinner in the kitchen in the background they can hear my personal sensitive data.
Fraud department beyond useless and staff rude and unhelpful
