Lakeside Needlecraft Avis 

Placed an order with my mother, and the whole experience has been pretty disappointing quite honestly.

I had ordered from Lakeside many times on my own account going back years. (Pre COVID). They were always such amazing service, and that was a large reason to order from them. I could order on a Monday morning, and have my order Tuesday / Wednesday. I understood with COVID that those times would be longer due to the constraints everyone was experiencing. But it never improved after that. Which to go from such a brilliant service to waiting a week plus to receive your order is disappointing.

I wouldn't have minded the delivery time so much if it wasn't for the fact that my delivery turned up and the wrong item was sent. When we spoke to them, the item was discontinued and nobody got in touch with us about it, despite the fact that up until the phone call it was still on their website. We were sent the wrong needles, in a smaller pack size with no explanation. They didn't seem too bothered and when the delivery time was mentioned they did the typical 'we are a small business' line. But I appreciate that, but they always were even when their service was much better. I currently run my own business, and ran another where I dealt with exclusively custom made items what didn't take me this long to get to my customers - and i wasn't pulling things off the shelf to put into a bag.

When the dispatch time and Royal mail saying they had it time not matching came up, they assured it was dispatched when they said - but i assume this is down to marking orders as dispatched their end before Royal Mail actually being given the items. Having them ready to leave your office isn't actually dispatched. Them leaving your office and being with the courier service is dispatched.

All of my experiences with Lakeside Needlecraft have been brilliant. The website is easy to navigate and use, and there´s a wonderful selection of kits, charts, fabrics and threads. All products are very good value. Any questions are replied to, and orders dispatched very quickly.

I always buy from here to feed into my cross stitching obsession, it’s my favourite company to order my supplies from. Orders are always sent on time, exactly as I order them and they’re a lovely team with great communication. I really recommend 😊

All of my orders have been quick and accurate. I had an issue with a product (not their fault) and they dealt with it quickly and kindly - I will definitely order again for future projects!

There are lots of excellent reviews for this company so perhaps we were just unlucky. We assumed that if an item was listed as "in stock" on their website then it would be .... well, in stock. Alas, that was not the case with two items although our order and payment were accepted. We only found out there was an issue when our order did not arrive within the estimated timescale and we took the initiative to contact the company. It would have been nice if they had contacted us without having to be prompted.

Having said that, they were quick to respond and a full refund was given without further delay.

In future, we think it might be preferable to place orders by telephone rather than relying on their website stock information.

Great customer service start to finish, Ive shopped with Lakeside needle crafts for a few years now and hope to do so for the future. Great value as well. I have often mentioned Lakeside to my friends especial now physical shops are becoming scarce. Lakeside are very aprocable and answer quierys quickly. Ideal for those who are buying the craft supplies online for the first time .

I had a really positive experience. There was a great range of products to choose from, and the website was simple and easy to navigate, making the whole ordering process hassle-free.

I did have a query about my order, but a member of staff called me directly to discuss it. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and quickly found a solution, which I really appreciated. My order arrived within the promised timescale, which was great.

I will definitely use this company again and would happily recommend them to others.

Excellent customer service. I wanted to add to my order which they did without a problem.
Competitive prices, you can not find dmc silks cheaper, even with postage I was still in pocket.
Order is dispatched quickly

Asked to exchange magnification glasses for a pair of higher strength and was told this was not possible as they are considered a medical item. That's quite a stretch of the imagination to call a pair of glasses for cross stitching a medical item.

I made an order with Lakeside on the 5th June, and I made a mistake with the number of threads I ordered. I sent an email and phoned their customer service because I was panicking.
I honestly didn't need to panic, Kate is an absolute diamond who sorted out my problem so quickly and was so lovely to speak to!

Lakeside Needlecraft is now my go-to online cross-stitch shop!!

I've ordered from here a few times before and always had a positive experience and very good customer service when there was a small mistake in my order. Dispatch times can be slow but it's worth the wait as I find that they have an excellent range of products for cross stitch.

Ordered before easter, had an email saying 2-5 days dispatch. On 5th day, nothing so chased up to see when would be dispatched, had an email saying the Easter sale was quite busy so would be dispatched the following Monday (which is understandable however communication regarding this wouldn't go a miss)
On monday, nothing so sent a follow up email to confirm this had been dispatched (I was emailing someone called Kate) who ignored my emails. I sent an email back to the thread generic email and on the Friday so over 2 weeks since I ordered to say "sorry for the delay, we are dispatching today on a tracked 24"
Not professional at all, will buy elsewhere in future.

Beautiful fabric and threads. Great customer service. I needed my items quickly so I asked to upgrade the postage, had a phone call within an hour and all sorted and my items arrived the next day. Will definitely shop here again.

Fabric not labelled so am playing guess the name. delivery left INSIDE the general waste bin, which was emptied the following day and was NEVER designated as a safe location.
may use again but with reservations.

Very efficient service with plenty of choice.

I do find the pale coloured text on the site hard to read.

Lakeside Needlecraft are absolute terrific - really good service and delivery times, especially when you consider that they aren't a huge conglomerate like Amazon, and have to stick with the vagaries of the Royal Mail.

I've ordered from Lakeside Needlecraft on multiple occasions over the past few years, and recently had my first, very small, issue with an order - one of the (several) threads I'd ordered was the wrong colour. I contacted them and received an extremely quick response and a very speedy replacement thread, really impressed with customer service.

I wouldn't really order from anyone else.

I love buying from Lakeside Needlecraft - they have a wonderful range of fabrics and always have the threads I need in stock. Competitively priced and the goods are always carefully packed, with tracked postage. Most importantly, Lakeside despatches your order in a timely manner (anyone buying project packs from Willow Fabrics will know what I mean!!). I will be using Lakeside for all my cross stitch projects from now on!
