I bought my car from Motorvogue in…

I bought my car from Motorvogue in Bedford at the interchange park an ix20.
Everyone I came across was friendly and professional. Dennis who sold me the car is a top man.
I even got a courtesy call a couple of days after to make sure I’m getting on ok with the car. Thank you.

Avoid very stressful

Sales Manager never followed through on what he said he would made excuses all the time. 7 weeks after trading my car in he hasn't paid off existing finance and given us every excuse! Complained to customer care and they haven't got back to us either

Couldn't contact during the day, not all work done, rude staff

Booked my car in for a service and MOT, done today, at Motorvogue Bedford.

I received a message at midday telling me that there were 3 advisorys - one tyre, front brake pads and rear brake pads. I called numerous times as I wanted to discuss the brake pads. There was no answer. On one occasion I let it ring for 15 minutes! After an hour and a half, I gave up and instead used their online 'planmyservice' link that they had used to message me to submit my request for the tyre and to request a call back for the brake pads.

Noone called me back. In the end I resorted to googling it and decided that perhaps I wouldn't proceed with the brake pads for now, although this was pretty uninformed but I didn't know what else to do.

Eventually they phoned me to say the car was ready to collect. When I turned up at the showroom I had an uneasy feeling. There was one member of staff and one customer who she was just starting to sit down with. I was stood there and ignored, not a "Take a seat I'll be with you soon" or "Someone will be along shortly", just completely blanked. She even walked right past me stood in the middle of the room at one point. It was like being invisible.

Finally my turn. Turns out the car tyre wasn't done despite me approving it in their online system 3.5 hours earlier. No reason, just not done. No offer of a mitigating action, she could not care less. I said that it wasn't really acceptable, she said nothing.

Then I said I'd tried ringing numerous times and even left it ringing for 15 minutes once, to which she said "we get 100s of calls" and "we're short staffed" and a shrug. She didn't comment when I said I'd requested a callback. I said I hadn't been sure about the brake pads hence the calls and she said nothing, just ignored me and fetched a stapler!

She seemed to think it was great that they had at least done the MOT certificate. I mean, really?! I'm not sure whether the car was serviced properly, I reached the point where I just wanted to leave. I got a very clipped "thank you" which was disingenuous, I really couldn't believe my ears. I actually laughed out loud it was so awful!

I will not return to this garage for any reason. I can't imagine worse service.

If the garage are reading this, the member of staff had scraped back blonde hair in a bun and was wearing a green jumper. Absolutely rude with no manners. I would also recommend not taking 'service bookings' if you cannot deliver a service.

I now need to organise a new tyre for my car at my inconvenience too.

Dreadful customer service

On 1 July my Jeep Wrangler failed it’s MOT. On my way back from the test I visited Motorvogue Bedford ("M") and ordered two parts. I was told that both parts were in stock in “the warehouse” and “should be available for pick up in 2 days”. I paid £186.71.
I heard nothing on the due delivery date (3 July).
Having tried on several occasions to contact Parts I decided to drive to the garage. I was told that the parts were not in stock and were on order. I asked why I had been told that the parts were in the warehouse and was told said it must have been a fault in the stock records system.

I decided it was time to escalate the issue to M’s customer service team (“MCS”).

On14 July I received a very apologetic email saying the parts were on factory back order and that the incorrect status (apparently on the Stellantis stock system) was the reason for the failure to deliver.

I received a follow up email (again on 14 July) which stated “Jeep have come back to the team and advise the parts will be here no later than Wednesday afternoon.”

On 15 Jul 2025 I received another email which confirmed that the parts had been delivered to Motorvogue Bedford. .I was on holiday so could not pick the parts up until 25 July. I booked the car in for another MOT (28 July).

I did not open the boxes containing the parts before going to the MOT. When I did open the box it was clear that an indicator light had been provided rather than a dipped light.

I immediately drove to M and saw a different member of the parts team. I again showed him the broken light. He went to his computer and said he could see how his colleague had “made the error” and ordered the wrong part as “they looked very similar”! He said would order the correct parts, which were in stock at the warehouse, and he expected they would be delivered on “Wednesday or Thursday”.

As I had heard nothing by 4 August I updated MCS on what had happened.

On 6 August I received the following from MCS

“Having reviewed the details of your case, I can confirm that the initial part was ordered incorrectly. This error was recognised when you kindly returned to the dealership, the correct part was reordered on 28th July. At the time, we were advised that delivery would likely be Wednesday or Thursday (30th or 31st July), however the supplier (Stellantis) unfortunately did not fulfil the shipment as expected. I completely understand how disappointing and inconvenient this must be, especially after already making multiple trips and having your vehicle off the road for such a long period.

While some of these delays have been outside of our direct control, I fully acknowledge that our communication could have been better, and that the initial mistake should not have happened. You rightly expect a higher level of service."

Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to resolve this as quickly as possible.”

By this time I had received £30 compensation.

On 10 August I emailed MCS again to express my disappointment/let them know I considered the compensation to be insufficient. I asked for contact details of Jeep UK so I could raise the issue with them.

On 14 August I received another email from MCS which stated "Jeep have advised 2 weeks maximum"
On 28 August I sent another email saying "My car has now been off the road for 59 days. I have been given £30 what are your proposed next steps?"

On 1 September 2025 I received a response from Motorvogue which said:

“I sincerely apologise, the parts team have been trying to reach you to refund you in full so that you can place this order elsewhere, Jeep UK have not supplied the part and they are giving no indication of an arrival date for us to be able to give the correct level of service to you.”

To say that I was shocked by this email would be an understatement.

In light of all the above I've decided to replace both headlights with LED’s. I cancelled the order and hope to receive a refund. I also forwarded the email chain, with a summary explanation of my dissatisfaction, to Jeep EMEA.

On 2 September I received a call from Jeep Customer service department. They told me that as I had cancelled the order they could not become involved in the discussion about poor service levels as this was purely between me and Motorvogue.

Having worked for General Motors for many years I know that manufacturers generally seek to look after their customers. This appears not to be the case for Jeep or Motorvogue.

In summary this is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would advise anyone to carefully consider whether the great experience of driving a Wrangler (and it is a great experience), is outweighed by the stress levels you have to face in dealing with something that should be pretty straightforward.

Shocking.Do not touch these guys with a barge pole. We pre booked 2 x DS3 after airbag recall. Turned up first thing this morning…”sorry we tried to contact you, we have no air bags”. We had pre booked 2 months ago. These fools offered an open day on a first come first served basis which we declined as we needed the assurance of a fix.We both work, and owning two cars con recall is a real headache. I did read a few reviews about Motorvogue prior to booking…. The negative ones are so accurate. Stay away…. Bloody rubbish and a waste of your energy.

Nice people, dreadful car preparation

Buying a car should be a pleasurable experience. It is after all the second most money you are going to spend outside of buying a house. With Motorvogue its is about as pleasurable as bowel surgery in woods with a blunt stick.

So why am I so harsh? The bare facts are that I purchased a second hand car from the garage in BEDFORD for £5400 on 24 June and since then I have been able to drive it for 10 days. The car itself is an Alfa Romeo Guilietta and when I bought it I was given a date of July 4th to collect it. The only fault was a broken door handle, however Motorvogue elected to change the full door card and that took 4 weeks to arrive.

When I test drove the car the clutch was smooth and supple, however when I eventually collected it, it was was so stiff that I spent half my time in the car altering my seat position. I expect a certain amount of resistance in a new clutch, but that was merely a symptom of issues within the car. On 10 August after 10 days of use the clutch went. I am still waiting for this fault to be rectified. I am assured this will be “soon” but there is no timescale. It took them a week to agree to do the repair, which isn’t encouraging.

Let me be clear that no one at Motorvogue has been rude, quite the opposite in fact, and I have not had any issues with them offering to do the repair. What is clear is that they have failed to prepare the car properly for sale - and I have paid the price. I couldn't say if this is down to lack of staff or incompetence, but I would probably say the former. They are very busy as everyone tells me.

Throughout the last however many weeks (it is now 29 August) I have had to contact and harass Motorvogue to move repairs forward. I have had no uninitiated contact from them. Look, I get that I have bought a second hand car, an 11 year old car, but this is a main Alfa Romeo dealer and the Guilietta is a great product - far better to drive than a Focus or similar. When I got the car it was like my birthday and Christmas had come at once.

Throughout the last 6 weeks I have had to adjust my life around Motorvogue. They have made no attempt to provide something like a basic courtesy car, or tried to compensate. When I arrived to collect the car on July 31st initially the car had not been MOT’d. After 4 weeks waiting for a door card. As a result the £200 admin fee I find laughable.

You pay fees like that because you simply expect better from a main marque dealer. You expect even a second hand car to be well presented and driveable. You don't expect to be awake 26 hours with a night shift to do on no sleep because you are getting your new car recovered.

So yes, Motorvogue are very polite, they are nice people. When I have spoken to the young guys they’ve been fine. But they need to decide if they want to be a marque dealer or get embarrassing reviews from people who love Alfas and want to enjoy their driving. I have no axe to grind here - I just want to be able to use the car I have bought and paid for.

It is the 29 August and I have a weekend off with no transport yet again. Sad to say I wish I had never seen the car and bought elsewhere. My advice to you is to do the same.

Hyundai Motorvogue Bedford

Hyundai Motorvogue Bedford - Disappointing Experience with Booking and Communication – Let Down Despite Exceptional Individual Service

I’m extremely disappointed with the overall experience at this Hyundai Bedford service centre. I initially requested a courtesy car back in July, but was told the earliest availability wouldn’t be until October – completely unacceptable given the length of time in advance the request was made.
I was then informed on 10th July 2025 that my vehicle would need to be kept until the required part arrived, but no one could confirm when that part would actually be delivered. This lack of clarity made planning extremely difficult.

The only positive in this whole experience was Tracy, who provided exceptional service by managing to secure me an appointment — albeit six weeks later.

Her effort stood out in an otherwise frustrating process.

On 18th August, I dropped off my car at 8:30am for repair. By 4:45pm, having heard nothing, I called to check on the status. Polly had to email the service department as they were not answering their phone — a worrying lack of internal communication.

Eventually, after speaking with the main booking centre, I was informed the car would be ready by 5pm. I called again at 5:40pm to get an update, and was told I could collect the car if I could get there within ten minutes. I explained this wasn’t possible as I needed to arrange a taxi — something that should’ve been anticipated given the lack of a courtesy car in the first place.

Overall, this experience has been disorganised, poorly communicated, and stressful. It's frustrating that individuals like Tracy are going above and beyond, while the rest of the service seems disconnected and unresponsive when all that was needed was one phone call to let me know my car was ready for collection.

Fiat Northampton gave 10/10 experience.

I can’t comment on the company as a whole as I didn’t have to contact anyone apart from the Sales Executive who I dealt with from start to finish.

However, Sam from Fiat/Abarth (Northampton) was amazing to deal with from start to finish. I was looking for a used car, and was being quite fussy and nothing was too much for Sam! He made sure to let me know that the car wasn’t actually on site yet so this would cause a slight delay to the handover date. He ensured he communicated any updates he could give with me, there was a slight issue with pricing meaning the initial price agreed was slightly off and some documents were incorrect, but he handled it professionally and explained as to why this had happened. We quickly made sure all documents were correct and arranged a collection date and re-assured me that the finance on my part-exchange would be settled just after this date.

At the handover, he had allocated plenty of time to ensure I understood the car and features fully. The car was well presented and absolutely spotless! He pointed out the slight flaws, which I was already aware of (tiny marks in the leather etc) and sent me on my way!

Thank you to Sam for such a lovely experience and a lovely car to go alongside and await the settlement to paid on my part-exchange!

DO NOT IGNORE THE REVIEWS ON HERE ABOUT…

DO NOT IGNORE THE REVIEWS ON HERE ABOUT MOTORVOGUE.
I bought a car from them in October 2024 and am still waiting for refund. As soon as I purchased the car I found the aircon was not working. I informed them and it took 4 months to refund around 60% of what it cost me to get it fixed. This should have been refunded in FULL.

I was also told when i bought the car that it would not need servicing for a year. Four weeks later and the service light came on and i have had to pay for it to be serviced. There was no service stamp in the service book either so it's quite obvious that it was not serviced or even checked over since the aircon was at fault as mentioned above.

Next a repair they did to the rear spolier before I purchased the car has peeled. All the lacquer is peeling off and I've had to pay for that to be fixed myself too. That repair lasted for approx 7 months after purchase. I was hoping to post pictures of their repair on here but can't see a way at the moment. I'll look after I've posted this and add them if i can.
Once the car is sold they will completely ignore calls and requests for them to phone back and deal with your complaint. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
UPDATE: 23rd Sept 2025.
I've dealt with someone called Megan at motorvogue and she has refunded my servicing costs. I think you need to get to the correct person here to get anything done. I was dealing with a salesman called faizan who did nothing. I dont know which dept Megan works in but she needs a substantial pay rise as she seems like this companies saving grace. Thanks Megan!

Review update

Just a update from my review of 10th July to say as of 21st July I finally received my deposit back. Albeit due to an email to their CEO made them rectify. I have later found the holding deposit I made for a car was in actual fact out on short term hire! Hence 2 cancellations to view and test drive with no explanation as to where the car was. Was also apparently a demo car which was not in their advertising. Just glad I've got my money back and dont have to deal with this company ever again.

No issues with the car but please do not be conned into putting down a holding deposit. Over 4 months later and still my £500 has not been returned. Staff turnover is high, everyone fobs you off and no one acknowledges your complaint. Now considering going to the small claims court. Have been a customer for many years, sadly I will never purchase a car from this group again. It’s a shame as this group are putting people off buying the different brands of cars they sell.

An update on the above review. After extensive chasing my money has been returned, customer care have fully acknowledged the issue and have sent a very lovely gesture of goodwill which was very much appreciated.

Avoid. Incompetent

This company has really gone downhill in recent years.

4 years ago I bought 2 Hyundai's from the Bedford dealership on PCP and was very happy with the service I received at the time.

Unfortunately in the subsequent years there has been a constant turnover of staff and the level of service has dropped off dramatically. I've had to hire a rental car because they couldn't book me in to fix my car for over a month (still under warranty, totally unable to drive).

My wife and I have then been hounded over the last 4 months to book an appointment to review our PCP plans now we are coming to end, only to arrive at the dealership and be made to wait for hours past our appointment time, and deal with Sales people who really haven't a clue, and ultimately haven't really been interested in selling us a car despite calling and leaving voicemails almost daily.

Constant turnover of staff mean you there is no continuity, and every interaction starts from scratch. It's been incredibly frustrating and a huge waste of time having to deal with a different person every time you interact with Motorvogue

Most recently I almost bought a Renault from this group, only for my wife to made to wait for hours when she had booked an appointment to test drive. She was comppletely ignored upon arrival, and she was then gaslit that she'd booked a different day and time (despite all the emails etc confirming). The company still has my £500 deposit for this car which we are not now buying, however, the Sales person we were dealing with has left the business (surprise surprise), so we're chasing shadows trying to recover this.

Really incompetent from top to bottom. I would recommend you drive the extra 30mins to the next dealership across for the brand of car you're looking to buy and avoid Motorvogue at all costs

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a car with Motorvogue Kings Lyn on the 23rd June. A 2019 Renault Captur AJ 19 CMO. The salesman Roan was very helpful until things went wrong. The car was to be delivered to me on the Thursday. Unfortunately a driver didn’t arrive, so no car. I asked for a full refund but he insisted the car would be with me by Saturday. I said ok, but then on Friday he called to say the car would be with me by 9am Monday morning. I didn’t believe this but thought I would wait and see. 9am came and went and then at 10 I called to speak to Roan, another sales team member answered and said Roan was unavailable. I asked if the car had left and he said it had been picked up. Roan text at 12 to say the car had broken down and was being returned to the showroom. I then asked for a refund. He asked for my bank details and said it would be processed straight away. I then contacted the manager of the store Martin who said the refund would be processed in 3/5 working days. I checked it would be for the full amount as an admin fee of £199 had been added to my bill, even though there was no mention of this on the Renault main website where I had seen the car. I also contacted the customer care team of Motorvogue just to make sure the refund was processed. All confirmed and guaranteed to be in my account by Monday 14th July at 5pm. Of course still no refund and no communication from Martin or the customer care team as to why my refund still isn’t in my account. Terrible service from all. Please be very wary. I am now having to go down the route of trading standards to report this company.

Sent my car for its 2nd service. So I thought . Had a defective rear washer which wasn’t checked or repaired. Service consisted of hammering the car for a road test and draining the oil . Apparently checking plugs and air filter are an extra .
Got the car back and the air filter was dirty and definitely wasn’t checked . And the car wasn’t even washed . Piss poor service . Apparently nothing gets done on the second service. Apart from oil and a quick check over

Good product in the hands of amateurs.

Firstly, the Ioniq5 is a good product. I wish I could say the same about the sales team. This should be a simple process, take a deposit, you comply and hey presto the deal is done and after 10 working days the deposit is returned according to the compliance rules they quote. On this occasion a slight complexity that was resolved by me regarding a private plate should have seen the balance of the deposit returned after 10 working days. After 5 telephone calls, on 5 separate days not one call back to say we are sorry about this. Verbally, I find out the salesman has left and to compound their miserable record, it seems they are unable to handle the paperwork for a director to sign off the repayment authority.
I still await the refund and I shall now await a response. Given this transaction completed over 15 working days I shall also ponder over their compliance with the fsa.
Be wary, good product poor company.

I part ex’d my vehicle for a new Alfa Romeo Stelvio over 3 months ago.
They failed to repay the finance on my part ex resulting in me having to pay 2 more instalments for my old car plus the instalments on my new car. Still to this day waiting for my refund.
New car registration - kept getting numberplate wrong upon trying to register my new vehicle resulting in a 2 week delay, issue only spotted my me.
New car collection - kerbed alloy, car dirty.
Incorrect service plan added to vehicle, should have been 3 years, they added 2.
Black badges- never arrived, still waiting 3 months in.
Communication from this dealership is terrible. Have been emailing for the past 3 months and occasionally get the odd reply. No official apology. Customer service atrocious to say the least.
No gesture of goodwill or any compensation offered. Totally unacceptable from a dealership. Where is your customer service??

Inept, Incompetent, inadequate....and these are just the good points.

I bought a SEAT Ateca from Motovogue in Bedford back in April last year (cash sale). The worst decision I have made in my life was to walk through their door. Their aftersales service stinks and only now, 13 months late, have I managed to get all of the aftersales issues resolved. I could write a book but a few relatively short points will do.
1. I paid for the car and to collect it and it was not ready - I had to go back later asking for service and MOT to be carried out together and the Ad-blu tank topped up as it was nearly empty.
2. When I collected the car it had been serviced but no MOT - I had to take it back two weeks later. The ad-blu tank had not been topped up either.
3. About 1 hour after dropping the car off for its MOT I received a text saying in a big red banner headline 'immediate attention'. Front tyres need changing. I subsequently found out that this message was 'advisory' and "maybe" was being used to promote tyre sales. After some negotiation with them I managed to get the 'supposedly' faulty tyre replaced
4. I topped up the ad-blu myself (they did pay for the ad-blu)
5. When I bought the car I asked them to fit front and rear dashcam and also a tow bar. I was advised that I could only have a SEAT RETRACTABLE towbar which would be fitted by Motorvougue - price £1550!!!!!!
6. After the car was serviced I had to take it back for the dashcams to be fitted and also the tow bar. When I arrived at the service desk they had no record of any of this and went off to get the sales guy. He turned up and said 'everything is ok as its in my diary' ....bloody wonderful
7.When I collected the car the front dashcam had been fitted but the rear had been forgotten so I had to take the car back again. There was no sign of the towbar either. "We'll fit that when we fit the rear dashcam!"
8. Took the car back for rear dashcam and towbar to be fitted. When I collected it the rear dashcam had been fitted but still no sign of the towbar.....
9. After some considerable time I managed to get a date to have the tow bar fitted and took the car back yet again. When I collected it I discovered that the tow bar had been fitted by an outside company and a DETACHABLE towbar had been fitted and not the retractable one I had paid for. Of course there is a significant difference in cost between the two types.
10. At no time did Motorvogue offer a credit. I had to chase and cajole them into issuing me a credit. They gave me £800 which was still £150 short of the cost the outside company would have charged me.
11. I subsequently found out that SEAT do not manufacture towbars and Motorvogue do not fit them. When I ordered the towbar I can only assume that the salesman was either inept or just lying to secure a sale
12. After making continuous complaints eventually I was offered a two year service plan and four years warranty to compensate in someway for the aggravation which I accepted (because I had had just about enough of Motorvogue by then)
13. April my car was due for service so I decided to book the service with the SEAT garage in Letchworth as I did not want to deal with Motorvogue anymore and I thought my troubles would be over......how wrong could I be
14. I was advised by SEAT Letchworth that there was no record of my car on the SEAT '1-link' system and as such I would have to take it up with Motorvogue as they had set the plan and warranty up.
15. It transpired that Motorvogue had not set up the plan correctly and that there had been a serious data breach which SEAT financial services are now investigating
16. It took from early April until now for the complete shambles of the service plan and warranty to be resolved. My car is now serviced!

At no time throughout this whole sorry saga has anyone from Motorvogue been proactive in any way shape or form (apart for the guy who finally sorted the service plan issue). Had I not chased, complained, cajoled, or just simply been on their case all of the time none of the things that Motorvogue promised would have happened.
They seem to be a company the is not interested in its customers and are content to let all of their staff promise the earth and deliver nothing. I think everyone can draw their own conclusions as to reasons why any company would act in this way suffice to say is that the best advice I can give to anyone is
DO NOT DEAL WITH MOTORVOGUE

The race to the bottom Cupra style.

The race to the bottom Cupra style.

When first enquiring about purchasing the born the sales person was very attentive. I had got a better price elsewhere which would have saved £500 but decided to give the local dealership the chance.

Fast forward to handover day. I got to the dealership and dealt with the paperwork, which sadly took longer than initially thought & issues with their systems meant that I nearly didn’t take the car away that day, if I hadn’t forced them to persevere that would have been the case. It wasn’t a professional handover because of this.

The finance for the vehicle involved paying a small amount on the vehicle I was “trading in”. Unfortunately the date the valuation was valid until was close to the handover date, which in turn meant that Motorvogue owed me around £500. This took much longer than should have been necessary to get back & the garage dragged their feet.

The race to the bottom, cupra style. I wouldn’t recommend, way more hassle than should be necessary.
