Oh Jeff

Oh Jeff. Trying to line your pockets in an industry you have no business in. Here’s a thought. Why not help create change? Of course the building is fancy on the 23rd floor of a mall. Sure that costs a pretty penny. Parking is a nightmare. Did the ‘simple online inquiry whatever the’ which assures you that it’ll let you know if your insurance is accepted or not. It of course says it is -otherwise I wouldn’t have wasted 3 hours of my day to go- guess what? It wasn’t. Do they know the out of pocket? Nope.

Unexpected charges, dishonest app, terrible customer service

Beware: One Medical adds confusion, contrary to its patient-centered philosophy. It let me book an appointment labeled as both “Remote” and “Annual Wellness Visit”—a preventive visit that’s supposed to be fully covered by insurance. Instead, I was hit with a copay because an annual wellness visit can only be billed as such if it’s in-person.

When I pointed out the misleading labeling and asked for a one-time courtesy credit due to their false advertising, they refused. It’s not about the money—it’s about a confusing app and poor customer service. Patients shouldn’t have to guess what they’re actually booking. If One Medical’s value proposition is a seamless, patient-first experience that justifies paying its extra premium, this is exactly where it fell short: the app created the confusion, their team refused to recognize their mistake, and the patient paid for it.

It’s an absolute scam

It’s an absolute scam. Do not use this service. They will charge your card hundreds when cancelled. More than your actual appointment. Just go to urgent care in your area.

I just cancelled my membership in One Medical

I just cancelled my membership in One Medical. I have been a patient of One Medical for the last 15 years. Both my wife and I have had some great experience and some really bad experience. I had a wonderful PCP until the end of 2024 when she retired. The Bon Air office in Marin was awesome and the services were always excellent. I can't recall when Amazon acquired One Medical. But the last 2 years have been awful. I literally could not find a PCP in any office in my service area (Marin) over the last 2 years. I was assigned to another one and she then retired. Now there are no MD's who are accepting new patients and the Bon Air office is closed. My wife has had 3 PCP's over the last couple of years, 2 of whom were young yet left the practice. Her current PCP in Berkeley is excellent. Another part of the problem with One Medical is that they are an independent private medical practice, have their own medical records system, and any work done by specialists means you end up with medical records scattered all over the place, and no center of inpatient care should you need it. And you only have care coordination as long as you have a proactive PCP with regular follow-up. I have just started a relationship with a PCP/MD in Marin Health who is awesome, and I will consolidate all my medical care (primary care, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, dermatology, , etc) with Marin Health on one platform with access to Marin General Hospital!

They switch caregivers after appointment made and don't tell me

i have been with One Medical (previously Iora) and have been satisfied but lately have been disappointed because I make an appointment with one person and they switch the caregiver without even letting me know. I was disappointed recently when that happened and I didn't feel like the caregiver seemed knowledgeable so I left without getting care. My original appointment was with someone else.

Medical One Refuses To Stand Behind Their MD’s!

One Medicals Dr admittedly prescribed glaucoma medication in error to a patient with zero glaucoma! One Medical refused to stand behind their Dr, even with the error in writing.

3 hours speaking with overly intelligent Amazon secretaries that provide absolutely no solution.

Bottom line… Medical One is the most irresponsible, ineffective, dangerous and aimless pharmacy with no true cause or purpose for clients.

It’s scam

It’s scam. I called them and I know Insurrance and billing could be nightmare. I called them before to check if they accept my insurance and the doctor I want to see accept my insurance. They confirmed yes. I booked the appointment and still I got a surprise bill from them for 10 minutes with my dr on OneMedical for almost $700.
I called to dispute and now they said my insurance is not accepted.
This is how we call it scam.

One Medical referral process

One Medical made the referral process very confusing and time consuming. I moved across the country and the local One Medical cannot obtain my previous pathology report from previous One Medical office. When I asked if they could reach out to my previous One Medical office, they dismissed the question and never responded, but they agree that they see my question in the One Medical app from over a year ago. Now they are saying that I should not have another colon cancer screening for another 3 years, even though the previous pathology report over 4 years ago showed a polyp removal. I also informed them of the polyps during my annual Live Well check up. Dealing with One Medical process has been very frustrating. I had previous polyps, but they do not want to provide a new colonoscopy referral until 7 years had passed. I could have developed serious cancer by now and they would not have helped unless I pushed for resolution.

Amazon One Medical is trash

Amazon One Medical is trash. Don't waste your time or money. Providers do not care or listen to you. They shove you to an online assessment that takes 20 minutes to complete then they base their ENTIRE treatment plan (or lack of) solely off how you scored on the assessment. They completely dismiss everything you say, all of your lived experiences, and all of your symptoms are completely ignored. All they use for your treatment is the results of an online assessment.

You can be perfectly healthy and intentionally fail the online assessment and they will prescribe you medication. Or, in my case, have debilitating symptoms that make it impossible to function, score average on the assessment and get denied treatment.

This place is a joke. The providers are basically relying on AI generated assessments, responses and treatment. They will disregard your actual symptoms and ignore what you are physically and mentally experiencing, instead relying solely on what a 20 minute online tests tells them.

Classic billing trap. Beware of surprise "double billing" fees.

I scheduled a routine annual physical—which should be 100% covered by preventive care—but walked out with a surprise $500+ bill. Because the doctor asked about my basic medical history (a chronic condition), One Medical sneakily tacked on an extra "sick visit" office code (99203) without my knowledge or consent. When I disputed this predatory split-billing practice, customer service hid behind standard corporate policy. Infuriating bait-and-switch. I canceled my membership and will not be back.

One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy should…

One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy should work hand in glove, no? Nope. The whole system is clunky and non-optimal. I paid for a virtual visit, was given “no refills” for a common, non-addictive medicine and now that I do need a refill I’m told by the Amazon pharmacy that I need to pay for another virtual visit for a refill. What? It’s infuriating and a Byzantine nightmare to navigate, just like all healthcare in the USA. If the deficits in the system are simply due to incompetence (probably) then it’s enraging that such critical infrastructure as healthcare should be so broken. Or, it’s working as designed: it’s a snare to ensure anyone without financial means sickens and dies. I suspect the corporate overlords
1. Really don’t care about the survival of the “average American”
2. If the fallout of late stage capitalism’s indifference is loss of life on a mass scale then so much the better because they want to replace humans with ai anyway
Moral of the story: don’t trust Amazon with something as dear as your health.

I finally found a great Dr

I finally found a great Dr. at Archwell health, she said my liver problem was caused by my biliary tract , also I was told if I was in that much pain that I should go to the ER which I did several times, my arms down to my hands were locked up for 3 months, she gave me Prednisone shots one in each arm. But the ER told me I was just getting old they are always exususing of drug seeking and that some specialists are to quick to give you a colonoscopy or surgery which is very dangerous especially for the elderly.

It was great before Amazon bought it

It used to be great before they got bought by Amazon. Now it’s just ok. Still happy with my PCP and didn’t have any issues with billing. But messages often get mixed up, sometimes the admin is replying and the info is doubled or doesn’t go thru at all. The visit time also got cut. It’s convenient (and offices are pretty )but not fantastic like it used to be.

Very disappointing billing experience…

Very disappointing billing experience with One Medical.

I received an unexpectedly large patient responsibility amount for a telehealth visit and attempted to resolve the matter directly through their billing team. While the responses were polite, they largely consisted of generic explanations about insurance deductibles and reimbursement policies rather than addressing my actual concerns regarding the coding level billed and the lack of upfront transparency around costs.

What frustrated me most was the inability to obtain a substantive explanation or supporting documentation despite multiple requests. The clinical interaction itself was fine, but the billing and dispute-resolution process left me feeling dismissed as a patient.

I would strongly encourage patients to verify coverage, deductible exposure, and potential visit coding implications before scheduling telehealth appointments with One Medical.

false advertising

This place is a joke. They're web site specifically states they treat sinus infections , however , after answering all the questions including the fact that I have no health insurance and waiting for over an hour. I was answered back with the reply. I'm sorry, we're not able to help you. We've determined you have a sinus infection and we refuse to give you the amoxicillin you are simply asking for to treat it because it could give you diarrhea. What the Frick? This was a complete waste of time. Thank God in heaven it was Free this first time as I was using It since I'm a prime member. And here I was thinking, nice. Prime has a medical thing, but no, not nice. Do not use this place. It is simply a waste of time to tell a 58-year-old woman who's been prescribed amoxicillin for many years to help with sinus infections that They're refusing to give it to her because she might get diarrhea , and she needs to go see a doctor even though she has no health insurance. They made me feel like I was some druggie asking for pain pills or something. The very worst experience i've had honestly. Use DoconCall they are awesome . They've been helping me for years treating me with compassion in knowing i jeed help but have no insurace to be seen.

Worst Customer Service and No Concern for Patient Health

Was a member for many years. When I moved out of state and needed a new doctor they refused to provide continuity of care for my medications (while promising they would) until I could get in to see a new doctor, which as a new patient takes a long time to get scheduled in my area. It let me in a precarious health emergency.
