I was at this bank to deposit money for…

I was at this bank to deposit money for a relative today and the elderly teller with black hair was so RUDE to the gentleman in front of me because he sneezed. She told him not to ever come into the bank again if he was sick. There is a polite way to deal with customers, and this was not it! This is not a good look and I'm glad this is not my bank. If you hate your job, go elsewhere.

Since they bought out my bank Peoples…

Since they bought out my bank Peoples Bank. We have had nothing but issues. From fees, to double overdraft fees, that stemmed from their error. Not my own. Took almost a month for them to refund the stolen money. Even after admitting they were at fault. I asked to close my account, and they kept giving me the run around. SO I left it open. Fast track 8 months later. I have not used my account, I have not put money into it, taken anything out of it. OR even logged into it. I just happened to open up the Bank app. And they were silently charging me a fee to give me a statement each month for a unused account. Now they put the account in the hole. And are trying to charge overdraft fees. Instead of closing the account like they were asked to do. This is the stuff they pull on their long good standing customers. To try to rake in their lost income. I have filed a complaint with BBB, the bank itself, and now I am leaving a review here.

This bank has been ripping customers…

This bank has been ripping customers off since they “acquired” PeoplesBank. They changed the minimum requirements on my money market account and began charging me $12 PER MONTH for doing absolutely nothing. I have been through a very hard time including losing 2 family members in a short period of time, so I haven’t been on top of bank statements. However, I did check emails that I received and there was no mention of these monthly charges. I visited the Bel Air, MD bank and was met with an unsympathetic customer service representative. It is this type of thing that sends people running to credit unions. I have to WAIT for 48 hrs for a regional mgr to contact me AND they will not provide any contact information for the managers. Take this as a sign to switch banks if ur a current customer of Orrstown Bank (previously known as PeoplesBank).

Orrstown Bank profiles people of color!

With EVERY fiber of my being I wish I could rate ORRSTOWN BANK negative stars! Here in the Chambersburg, PA area, despite a diverse community, this bank profiles people of color! I have raised my grandson (now 19yrs old) to see “people” not “color” so it has taken him several disputes and issues to actually “see” what has been happening to him with this bank. Still very unsure, because this young man “thought” he had a relationship with his bank! He opened his account with his grandfather at 15yrs old with his first paycheck and has maintained his own account in good standing since! Now 19yrs old, works a full time warehouse job and in college! But he recently got scammed by a person posing as a single mom with some hardships who talked him in to using his checking account to cash checks for her. When he got suspicious and turned to his bank did they help him? NO! They froze HIS ACCOUNTS AND TOOK ALL HIS MONEY from 2 accounts TO RECOVER THEIR LOSSES! He’s 19yrs old! He tells you he was scammed before YOU knew more checks were even coming back and you take money that was ACTUALLY HIS!
SHAME ON YOU ORRSTOWN BANK!
If my grandson had been a 19yr old white boy you wouldn’t have thought he was part of a scam! But because he’s African-American and wears his hair braided, he’s JUST GOT TO BE guilty! You’ve refused to cash his checks in the past based on how he looked despite him having direct deposit and an account in GREAT standing for 4yrs! Well, this Black boy you have racially profiled for the LAST time because I’m having him close his account, he will not grow up thinking he has to be treated like this because he’s Black! Oh no! He was scammed! Because he was raised to see the beauty in everything! It’s why he didn’t see his female scammer coming and why he didn’t see Chambersburg Orrstown Bank coming either! Get with the times Chambersburg ORRSTOWN Bank, our diverse community is growing!
