The painting I did turned out really…
The painting I did turned out really well. It was a painting of my son who’s died, so it was special. I would have given full marks but some of the paint was so see through I had to paint 3 times. But it’s a lovely picture, came quickly and packed well.

Hi Maggie,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're honoured that you chose one of our paintings to remember your son, and we’re glad to hear it turned out well and felt special to you.
We're sorry to hear that some of the paint was too transparent and needed extra coats. This can occasionally happen, especially with lighter colours, and while we do our best to avoid it, it’s sometimes unfortunately unavoidable. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you again for your detailed feedback and for trusting us with something so personal.
Kind regards,
From Olivia

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your positive feedback.
We're glad to hear you were happy with our service — we always want to make things right as quickly and smoothly as possible, especially when the odd paint pot decides to dry up.
It's wonderful to know the quality lived up to your expectations too. If you ever need anything else or fancy showing off your finished piece, we’d absolutely love to see it!

Fast delivery but poor quality
The delivery was a lot faster than sellers who are not UK based, however there is a noticeable difference in quality. The paint provided lacked opacity compared with sets from other sellers and the canvas print was illegible in places.
I contacted them to ask for a digital copy of the image so we could actually see which numbers were supposed to go in which places (a service they say they provide) but received no reply.
Overall, a disappointing way to spend the best part of £30.

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations.
We actually responded to your email shortly after receiving it with the digital reference you requested, so it's possible it may have been missed or landed outside your main inbox.
We’re also sorry to hear that the paint opacity and canvas clarity weren’t up to standard. We take great pride in the quality of our kits and materials, so we completely understand your frustration and will be looking into this further.
Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if there’s anything we can do to make your painting experience more enjoyable, as we want to ensure your experience ends on a much more positive note.

Canvas is great quality, and the DIY frame is really chunky and solid which is great

Excellent product. Poor after-sales
The product is excellent and I will buy more but I needed more of a couple of the paint colours and the delivery was too long. Weeks in fact.

Réponse de Painting By Numbers Ltd
Hi John,
Thank you for your honest feedback—we’re truly sorry that your after-sales experience didn’t match the quality of the product. While we’re thrilled to hear you love the kit and plan to buy more, we completely understand your frustration regarding the wait time for extra paints.
Due to a high volume of Valentine's Day orders, there was an unexpected delay in dispatching replacements, but this is absolutely not the level of service we pride ourselves on. We usually get additional paints sent out within a few days, as everything is manufactured in the UK and we keep stock at the ready to ensure a smooth process.
For future requests, we recommend providing the actual number of the paint pots you need rather than the kit’s reference number. This helps us process replacements much faster, as we often receive requests from customers whose kits weren’t originally purchased through our website, and this extra detail allows us to send the right colours without delays.
Again, we sincerely apologise for the wait and appreciate your patience. We truly value your support and look forward to providing you with a much smoother experience next time!
