The waiting list was a lot quicker than my children have waited and easy to book a suitable time for consultation. My psychiatrist was amazing, really listened, empathetic, used the right questioning techniques to get the information she needed to make an informed diagnosis. I am now on the titration list and understand that this is a very long waiting list and that there are other things I can do to help myself. I have done over 40 years, I can wait another couple. Thank you for the validation, Lucy Davey!

56 Weeks after diagnosis and still waiting for ADHD Medication – Still No Progress

Three months after my previous review, I am still waiting for treatment from Psychiatry UK.

I was referred in June 2025, diagnosed with ADHD in September 2025 and placed on the medication titration waiting list.

As of today, I have been waiting over 56 weeks for medication titration to begin.

During this time, my health has deteriorated, and my GP has personally intervened to request that my treatment be expedited. Psychiatry UK reviewed the request but advised that nothing could be done.

My formal complaint was also delayed because of their complaints backlog.

What concerns me further is that Psychiatry UK offers a private treatment pathway, while I remain on the NHS waiting list with no confirmed treatment date.

I understand that services face pressures, but 56 weeks without treatment, despite my GP raising concerns, is unacceptable.

How long are patients expected to wait, particularly when their health is deteriorating?

I have lost confidence in this provider. Patients deserve clear communication, realistic timescales and appropriate clinical support, not repeated delays and apologies.

My psychiatrist was kind and listened to what I had to say and confirmed what I had thought all along. Very professional service.

Fabulous first meeting with Martyn Bradley. He took time to get to know my son, spoke knowledgeably about ADHD, was really friendly and helpful. I was worried about the transition from CAMHS to adult services once he turned 18 but I didn’t need to worry. It was smooth hassle free. Thank you Martyn.

I am vey happy indeed with my experience of Psychiatry-UK. First of all, the short waiting time. I had steeled myself for having to wait months, but was offered an appointment within a week. They have a lot of clinicians and lots of appointments. You can choose your clinician by reading their biogs and the very helpful reviews. I chose one with 5 star reviews across the board, and many reviewers mentioned his empathetic manner, his professionalism and how he put them at ease. I had some pre-appointment questionnaires to fill in which were easy to do and my consultation was everything I’d hoped for. He instantly put me at ease, he listened sympathetically and guided me through the process. I was so grateful for this. If you’re wondering if an online consultation can be as good as face-to-face, rest assured. I can’t recommend them enough.

Didn’t have to wait long for assessment. Lovely guy who did my assessment.
12 month waiting list for the meds is the only reason y not 5 star.

to assessment was 5 weeks which is pretty quick.
The person who called to make my appointment was very friendly and approachable.
My assessor was professional and approachable. I did feel very nervous but feel it went very well.
My report was very quick and incredibly detailed.

My experience throughout the process has been really good. Every step of the way was well processed and good timing which put me at ease. And I have a full diagnosis which can now help me get the help I neee.

One of the things I appreciated most was being able to choose my own consultants and appointment times. I could read reviews and feedback beforehand, which helped me feel more confident choosing consultants I felt would be the right fit for me.

The whole process was much quicker than I expected, which was a huge relief. Both consultants I saw were professional, understanding and considerate of my anxiety, helping me feel more comfortable throughout what could otherwise have been a daunting experience.

Validating experience

whenever i have made a mistake on the forms the people on the phone have been lovely and sent me new ones . Dr Whan was very reassuring and explained my diagnosis to be clearly and explained the next steps to me aswell as advice on where i could find extra advice and support.

The questions were closed and open questions would have allowed me to discuss my symptoms, though adhd does usually show in childhood my childhood was very traumatic and I diliberately do not care to remember it, I expressed this too the psychiatrist but he seemed unable to work around this- this has left me feeling upset, exposed and without diagnosis

The whole service was really quicl, the online questionare easy to use and great to have boxes to explain thoughts and the online assessment was no way near as scary or intimidating as other assessments i have seen. I know a few people who are going to go to right to choose and i reccomended Psychiatry uk to all of them.

I found it comfortable talking to the Dr about my problems/issues something I have not been able to do before which felt like shedding a weight off my shoulders that I have been carrying around for most of my life.
I now have an understanding of my condition which I will always have but I can now try to adapt myself to cope.
I am really grateful to the Dr for his assessment & professionalism.
