There is no customer service

There is no customer service. I called and requested carry out service on 2/20/26. i was told that it was set and there wasn't anything else needed. On the 23rd my cans were not emptied. I called and was told that the cans would be picked up within two hours. I called 3 times on the 23rd, no one came. I called twice on the 24th. Again I was give two different times, which were not met.

On the 25th I went to their listed address for Richmond,CA. There is no name outside the building. When I finally got inside, there is a huge empty lobby. I go to Room 100 and there is a sign saying this office is closed. I decided to walk to the side of the building and there is a office 115. I go in, ring the bell and began explaining myself. I was told that I should not use the 800 number because those people are not local and most times can't help So why have an 800 number? I submitted the letter from the doctor, but she wasn't sure if that was good enough, since they have a form. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that no one was there. I asked to have my bill pro rated and was told to place the cans at the curb for Friday morning.
After 6 phone calls, multiple lies, and detective work to find a hidden location, i am still where I was on 2/20/26.

Ordered service on 1-29

Ordered service on 1-29, and paid $50 startup fee. They didn't pick up my can for the first time until 2-16, after originally promising a 2-9 pickup. Before I even had a pickup, they had already invoices me another $70. For non existent service. Then they failed to pick up my can again on 2-23. Terrible service. Avoid.

Worse customer service

Worse customer service. ON hold for 30 minutes before I could speak to someone. I stopped my auto-pay on MARCH 10. They took their payment on MARCH 20!!! They wont refund because they pull the data on MARCH 1st. WHAT A JOKE!!!

WORST CUSTOMER AGENTS I'VE EVER MET

IF I COULD I'D GIVE THIS COMPANY A MINUS 5. EVEN THEIR PHONE AGENTS ARE USELESS NOT TO MENTION SOME OF THEM HAVE ACCENTS THAT ARE SO FRICKING THICK ALL THEY CAN DO IS PUT PEOPLE BACK INTO QUE TO WAIT SOME MORE. THEIR SERVICES SUCK!!! ALL AROUND I WOULLD NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY IF THERE WAS ANOTHER TRASH SERVICE!

VERY POOR SERVICE

Republic missed my pickup because my can got blown over it was laying in the driveway. The driver stands up to drive the truck but it was to much work to put the truck in park step out pick the can up and empty it. That is what is called customer service. Called them at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm and was told both times will have someone there by end of day by 5:300 still not picked up put can away and hope next week it does not get blown over by the wind.

Horrible horrible service

Horrible horrible service. This is the second time I had an extra bag on the side of my container because it was full. This is also the second time they just threw it on the lawn. You are allowed up to 5 bags, it's not like I'm breaking any kind of rules to be treated this way. I don't think it's kind to make someone pick up garbage off their lawn just because you had to do your job. I hate this company so much.

Before you sign up, ask to see the contract.

Republic Services gave us decent service for a few years. Then a company that was $20/month less expensive came to the neighborhood, and almost all of my neighbors switched to them. Republic Services has not picked up our trash since January 1. It is now February 16, and another bill just came in. My wife called their main office in Washington State, and was told that because of a contract that we have never seen, R.S. continues to charge full price for 5 collections after the collections have stopped.

Thank you Andre!

The only reason I am giving a five-star rating is because of a supervisor here in southern Nevada by the name of Andre. I have had numerous issues with pickup on our commercial account with Duck Creek RV Park but every time I have an issue and I send out a message to this supervisor Andre he always responds right away and does everything he can to help us. I have had numerous supervisor and management contacts in the past but Andre is the only one who consistently responds with an attempt to assist. God bless this guy and I am so grateful that he works for Republic Services. I have never met him but I can tell by his contact picture of his family that he is African-American and has a wonderful looking family posted on his contact page. I consistently pray that God would bless his family and bless and bless everything that they put their hands to. Thank you Andre!

Scam company

Every year this company feels the need to up the price without notice. If you cant or dont want to continue service with them they just keep sending you harassing emails and telephone calls. The latest stating how they are going to report this to my creditors. Well let me tell you i pay for trashy services once a year and every year it has gone up for no real reason just something they decided to do without letting people know in advance. So i call and am informed that I owe for 2 months and they are charging me to come get a can that ive paid off 20 times and the only reason I have the can is bc there driver crushed the can I had and instead of just replacing my property they want to pay them for the can rental. I feel as if they dont appreciate us as a customer and further more it feels like a scam. I never signed a contract stating I have to stay with them forever. They're making things up to make me look bad and hurt my credit score that is pristine. I would say to take your money elsewhere but frankly they're all scams..

I wanted to lower my bill

I wanted to lower my bill, so, I arranged with Republic to go to a once a week pickup. They dropped my payment for a few months, then somebody decided to jack it back up without my knowledge. I didn’t catch it because it’s on auto pay, but that’s on me. When I caught it, I called customer service, the same department that reduced my bill, and all of a sudden, they had to transfer my call to someone else. I don’t know who they transferred my call to, because I hung up after 45 min. on hold! I then sent the current bill back with the instructions to “CANCEL MY SERVICE DUE TO LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE”! I then signed up with another company that was much cheaper. They later sent me another bill. I called them to cancel my service again. The person that answered couldn’t help me, and wanted to put me on hold again! I told her not to put me on hold, but she didn’t it anyway. 30 min. later, I hung up again. They then sent me a bill a couple of weeks later that said I was past due. I disregarded it, and they actually called me back. I talked to what I assume was a manager. I explained to him the situation, and he said he would take care of it. It’s been several weeks, and I just received another late due notice!
Customer service is non existent at this company!!

Republic Services has horrible business…

Republic Services has horrible business ethics. They trap customers with sneaky contracts and straight-up lie to keep charging you.They lock people into long-term contracts (like 3 years) that auto-renew unless you cancel in a very specific way and exact timing—most people miss it and get stuck paying penalties to leave.
Hidden or surprise fees keep popping up (fuel recovery, environmental, admin fees) that aren't clearly explained upfront, jacking up bills without warning.
They promise lower rates over the phone to keep you from canceling, but then don't honor it—billing you the higher amount anyway and claiming no record of the deal.
When you try to cancel, reps say "no problem," but don't tell you about strict rules (like sending written notice to a specific email 60 days ahead), so the contract renews automatically and you're hit with big early termination fees.
They lie about what was agreed to, overcharge for services not provided, and fight over tiny amounts while ignoring bigger mistakes on their end.
Billing continues even after moves or cancellations, leading to collections threats and credit damage for charges that shouldn't exist.

This isn't just bad service—it's designed to trap and squeeze more money out of customers with deception and lack of transparency. Countless complaints on BBB, Trustpilot, and elsewhere call out the same unethical tactics. Avoid this company if you value fair dealing. They prioritize profits over honesty.

We're supposed to get our trash picked…

We're supposed to get our trash picked up on Fridays So last Friday was January 30th and we never got our trash picked up on that day because of the weather which I understand The weather is beyond our control but Republic never came on Saturday and the roads were clear that day because they were scraped and they were even dry so they didn't come Saturday and they didn't come Sunday and they didn't come today and when I called customer service they said we're sorry but the next time they're going to come out is going to be next Friday so I just paid my bill and people on our street paid their bill and nobody got their trash picked up and we should not have to wait a whole week when people have their trash overflowing from their cans to wait another week till Friday again to have their trash picked up there was a truck that drove up our street up this morning and he never stopped to get our trash This is unacceptable and we're not paying for a service that were not receiving, I didn't choose this company We had another company that for some odd reason this company took over and they're doing a terrible job!

Rented a 40 Yard container for 9 days

Rented a 40 Yard container for 9 days. Called a couple days before to extend the rental an additional 10 days. Drivers missed the note, and picked up it anyways and closed account. Wouldn't honor the extension and told me to start all over and pay the drop off premium again...They $#@$ up and im supposed to eat the cost?? Nah, im good. This was after 5 transfers, and the classic run-around

Beware of Republic Services

My experience with Republic Services was extremely disappointing and reflects a serious breakdown in service coordination and customer care.

A dumpster was originally scheduled for delivery on January 6, 2026. On the evening of January 5, a Republic Services representative (redacted) contacted me to explain that the electronic documentation she prepared—and which I had signed—was incorrect. As a result, the delivery was pushed to January 7, 2026.

Despite this correction and confirmed delivery date, the dumpster was not delivered, nor was any proactive communication provided regarding the delay or a revised timeline. When I requested compensation in the form of an additional week at no charge due to Republic’s error, the representative stated she could not offer any corrective action and was unable to provide access to a supervisor. This resulted in an additional 45 minutes on the phone attempting to resolve the issue. During this process, I was given conflicting delivery dates—first January 12, then January 14—ultimately making the wait time 10 days from the original request.

This delay negatively impacted my company’s ability to meet our customer’s expectations, which is unacceptable.

After submitting a formal complaint, I was instructed to call a customer service number due to “sensitive account information.” The call led to multiple transfers, repeated explanations, and 30–45 additional minutes spent verifying information, only to be told I needed to contact another department.

Ultimately, a representative in the sales department acknowledged that Republic Services staff repeatedly completed the documentation incorrectly, resulting in inconsistent and inaccurate delivery dates. He confirmed a delivery date of January 14, 2026, and resolved the issue in under five minutes.

Republic Services’ failures cost me significant time, disrupted my business operations, and reflected poorly on my company. Extreme caution is advised when considering Republic Services for dependable service.

Less then one star if possible

Less then one star if possible - Not only do they miss your trash pickup, but will take the payment out if you have auto pay - TURN OFF AUTOPAY- and then charge you again and play dumb when you try to correct it .. I am left with paying another $200 (dumpster) to keep my trash service, or spend ANOTHER day or two on the phone getting the complete run around and still pay the money... Mob ties ...

I really couldn't tell you much about…

I really couldn't tell you much about this company. I am a National Project Manager for a growing roofing company that has 6 licensees to service in the Granite, Butte area. This would be a business that needs hundreds of dumpsters a year. I couldn't get this business to pick up the phone for a quote. 30 minutes and I'm still on hold for as long as it takes to write this review. As a professional I can only say that if a business doesn't care enough about getting the information to a customer about their products to make it easy to get basic information I would strongly recommend NOT using this company. I chatted online with Israel and he basically hung up on me. Super classy there Israel. 35 minutes on hold and all I wanted was a simple quote on a dumpster that most companies can give me in 3 minutes. Because of this I will have my company NOT entertain doing business with this company. Move on from any company that can't service you.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

Republic Services has been incredibly frustrating to deal with. For a long time, they would completely miss our neighborhood, and I had to call every single week to report missed pickups so someone would come back out.

Now the issue has flipped—they come at **6:00 AM**, which makes it very easy to miss putting the can out. The day after New Year’s, they came early on Friday at 6 AM. I forgot to set my can out and called to schedule an additional pickup. I was told it would cost **$50**, agreed to the charge, and was instructed to leave the can out Saturday from 5 AM–5 PM. The can was out the night before… **no pickup**.

I waited until Monday, called again, and was told someone would come that day. The can sat out another **12 hours in the heat**—again, **no pickup**. When I called back around 4 PM, I was told there was *no record* of the scheduled pickup. At that point, I gave up and decided to wait until the next regular service day and skip the $50 fee altogether.

To make matters worse, when you call customer service, it often seems routed **outside the U.S.**, adding to the communication issues.

This entire experience has been incredibly annoying and unreliable.
**DO NOT choose Republic Services.**

This company is awful

This company is awful! They suck so bad. They missed pick ups for two weeks in a row. Then they charged me $250 for an extra pick up to come get my trash bin that was full while my trash piled up around me. If you're looking for a new trash disposal company pick anyone but Republic they're garbage!
