Be very careful about ordering from this company. I ordered a 1 kilo pack of field beans and a high proportion had been damaged by seed beetles. The company provided a free replacement (which they say was inspected) and a refund. However, the replacement seeds were also damaged by seed beetles. If you wish to complain to the company directly and you don't get a reply via their Web form you can ring them on 01173 302277. The company also gives out inconsistent details about themselves. On their greenmanure.co.uk website, the contact form has the incorrrect company regsitration number, incorrect VAT number and incorrect DEFRA seed merchant number. You can validate all of this in the DEFRA seed register.

I have ordered seeds from this company for many years and have been really pleased with the products and service so could see no reason not to order again from them this year. I placed my order for around 30 different vegetable seeds but then became concerned after reading all the negative reviews and so had my doubt as to whether this order would arrive and there was no number to contact them on. however i neednt have worried as the next day i recieved an email stating my order had been despatched. It arrived soon after and all seemed well. I checked that they were all correct but there was one item missing. I emailed them to explain and Will replied with an apology and said he would have these send out straight away. They arrived within a couple of days so alls well. Had i not read the previous reviews i wouldnt have had any concerns. From my experience the service and goods were as good as they have always been and would of given 5 stars had the order been complete in the first place. It does appear that this company ceased trading as stated on Companies House yet they continue and i do hope this company can continue as ive always had great service from them. a contact number would be reassuring though.

Dispatch is a little bit slow, but I did receive the three seed packets that I ordered.

I emailed sowseeds when I hadn't heard anything about my order and they replied immediately stating some items were out of stock but would be posted when in stock. After looking at the reviews here I was suspicious about the company, even though I had used them previously without issue, so I emailed them again and asked for a refund, Will replied straight away again to say my order had been dispatched and I would receive it in 2-3 days, and I did receive all 5 items when he said. So perhaps it would be a good idea if we should all be a little more patient if there's a delay. All said and done though my order took longer than it should at least it was delivered and the communications were quickly answered.

Order never received.

Customer services just keep saying it will be dispatched.

Suspicious behaviour. I suspect fraud.

Marked as 'dissolved' on Companies House listing's but website is still active with no notice that they have ceased trading. Orders still accepted and money taken, dispatch email which included:

Before contacting us can you please check -
1. Has the item been left in a safe place?
2. Has the item been left with a neighbour?
3. Has the item been left at your local post office -
postmen are not always leaving a card!

Plus, they couldn't respond within 14 days.

Nothing heard back after demanding a refund. Reported to Trading Standards.

Product never received. Followed up with a couple of emails but still no products received and now don’t respond. No customer services number to simply give them a call either. Certainly a company to avoid just incase something goes wrong with your order. Many of good reviews but if something goes wrong the customer service is appalling.

Had great purchase experience and would recommend them. Postcode and address got entered incorrectly at purchase. Contacted company when didn’t arrive and they sorted this out with no quibbles.

There were several problems with my order. I purchased a few varieties of chilli seeds. Some of the packs that were advertised as containing 10 came with as few as five.

Additionally, hardly any of the seeds have produced seedlings. By way of contrast, when I’ve purchased the same seeds from a competitor they’ve flourished under the same conditions.

I won’t be using this company again. The only plus side was the fast delivery.

I've ordered a few times from this company without issue. Placed order last week for 3 packets of seeds, very competitive priced and arrived well packaged a few days later. All in all great selection of seeds and no issues. Always received my seeds within a week. Great Independent seed company.

Ordered a 20 pack of Jamaican scotch bonnets (5 seeds missing), 10 pacl of Trinidad scorpions (1 seed missing) and 10 pack of Bhut Jolokia seeds (1 seed missing. No reply from their contact form, raised a debit despute to recover funds. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Just putting this here for balance as I placed an order then found all the bad reviews. I then checked Companies House and the company was showing as being dissolved, so I assumed I would never see any goods and that the money was lost.
I placed order for various microgreen seeds on 19/03. Received an email 21/03 saying the seeds had been dispatched, and received the seeds 25/03.
I haven't tried growing any yet, so will post another review when I have, but on the surface, it looks like I have received what I ordered, and in a reasonable time.

EDIT: 02/04. I've used some of the seeds in my sprouter and micro green grower and they've all germinated fine.

Ordered seeds in early February, they emailed to say they have been dispatched on 19/02/2024. Nothing received. Messaged the company indicating no delivery. No response. Tried again, again no response. Feel very let down and duped.

Ordered on 16th February, still not delivered. Tried contacting via their web form, through emails and instagram - no answer. No telephone number to call them. I wish I checked Trustpilot before I bought the seeds. Big lesson for me to always check! I will be reporting them to Trading Standards and I advise everyone to do so. The more we will report, the quicker this will be resolved.

Paid for micro greens and waited over a week to receive an empty packet !!!!! No response so far to 2 emails sent.

Supposed to be dispatched next day. Over a week later seeds still not dispatched. Have sent emails and contacted via contact form ( supposed to reply within 48 hours). No answer.

I should have checked the reviews before placing my order - bought F1 seeds but I got wrong plants growing from it. Emailed to ask for a replacement but they haven't replied to me. After having read reviews here, I wonder if I ever get any response from Sow Seeds.

Bought seeds on the recommendation of some other gardeners on instagram but will never order from them again. The customer service is non existent & although they put in their website they will reply within 24 hours it is simply not true. I will not use again. I ordered over 10 days ago & not even sure if they have been dispatched!!

Ordered on 5th February. It is now 13th February with no mention of a dispatch. They can't even put seeds in an envelope and put a stamp on it in over a week. I wish I had read these reviews first. Avoid this 'company'.
