Created by Abi Selby, Spabreaks.com is a spa booking service working with more than 1300 spa destinations in the UK and overseas and arranging spa days and breaks for up to 6,000 people each week. From a small team of three, we have grown to a family of more than 90 members of staff with an office of knowledgeable spa consultants in Brighton. But those are just the numbers. Spabreaks.com's founding principle was to make the world of spa more accessible to anybody and everybody who wanted to go. We wanted to bring back the ancient purpose of spas as places of sanctuary for mind and body. We wanted to showcase the variety of spa experiences available to every individual, occasion, location and preference. Crucially, we wanted to make spas more accessible to anyone with a major health problem or disability, and work with industry leaders to make sure that anyone who had previously felt marginalised never feels that way again. Over the past decade, that’s exactly what we’ve done. We believe in the many positive benefits of spa experiences and that they can and should be available to help the health and wellbeing of everybody. That’s why we are working to make spas accessible and enjoyable for every body by providing an unrivalled choice of spas and spa packages, through first class service and convenience for all of our customers. Our ‘spa break for every body’ ethos is central to what we do. When we started Spabreaks.com, spas were often seen as the domain of women with too much money and too much time on their hands, and that they were for a stereotypical ‘body beautiful’. We believe that spa experiences are for real benefit to all of us and that spas are places where everyone should feel safe and looked after. We believe they are for everyone at every age, gender, weight and state of wellness, and that there are experiences, treatments and destinations that everybody and every body can enjoy. Sophie at Spa Breaks 5*

I called spa breaks after booking a gift voucher for myself and my wife to do the sunset experience at Celtic Manor.
When going to book online via spabreaks website the experience was no longer there. Sophie took the call and was efficient and attentive and took the voucher details from me and then contacted the spa to arrange the booking for my desired date and time. She the called me back within 30 minutes which is usually unheard of from most companies when they say they will call you back and confirmed that all had been booked.
Appreciate her getting all that sorted so easily 5*

Second time a booking has been…

Second time a booking has been cancelled due to poor communication with venues and money refund will be delayed. Poor unreachable customer service. Trip away in 48 hours and now unlikely to be able to find somewhere of acceptable price. Will not book again. Please be warned of this issue before booking

I booked my spa experience for my mum’s…

I booked my spa experience for my mum’s hen do through Spa Breaks and spoke to a lovely girl called Sophie via the WhatsApp service. It was so easy to do and I managed to give all my preferences and get it booked super quick! Planning a hen do is stressful but this part has been a walk in the park.

All confirmation and booking details came through email quickly, and when I was having trouble with my card when trying to pay I simply gave them a call and they helped as much as they could their end which was great!

I will definitely be using them again, thank you so much!

My daughter paid £500 for one night…

My daughter paid £500 for one night dinner bed and breakfast with access to the spa facilities valid until Dec2026
Also on the voucher it said book anytime.

To my disappointment when I tried to book the hotel last week I was told the offer had expired and was only available till April 2026.

I feel I should have received a full refund as what I bought is no longer available due to no fault of my own . If the correct date of the voucher had been printed on purchase there would be no issue .

I've been told to book another hotel but if you buy a voucher for the Old Course St Andrews that's where you expect to stay.

Customer service and customer relations were both very unhelpful.

I would avoid this company and buy a spa voucher from your preferred hotel instead of dealing with them.

A very disappointed customer, avoid this company. I wouldn't even rate them one star.

Booking was smooth and easy for our spa break. We were not contacted to arrange timings for any meals/treatments, but when I contacted spa breaks to adjust for my preference their customer service was great. And they accommodated our vegan dietary requirements for the afternoon tea.

Avoid avoid avoid Spabreaks! Awful company

I would not recommend this unprofessional, rude company who very nearly ruined my precious break. All I did was try and amend the dates of my break - "no problem" I was told when I rang and if I hadn't phoned to get confirmation I would not have realised they weren't able to do it. It took about 15 phone calls between Spabreaks and Macdonald Hotels to get it resolved and it was only Macdonald Hotel's intervention and listening back to phone calls to realise how I had been misled that enabled the change to happen. As it was Spabreaks - as a final act of spite having told me to "stop ringing them" - did not tell Macdonald Spa until the MORNING of my original booking and I only knew of their further incompetence when the Spa itself rang to confirm my booking. Rude woman called Darcey was SO rude, told me to stop ringing them and if I hadn't I would have lost over £400 and not got my break. Awful company. I will always book direct with the hotel in future.

I’m truly sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the support you received when trying to amend your booking at Macdonald Bath Hotel.

We always aim to deliver the highest standard of customer care, and it’s upsetting to know that your experience fell short of what you should rightfully expect from us.

I have personally reviewed the calls relating to your amendment request. While I completely understand how frustrating and confusing the process must have felt, the customer service advisors were following the policies and procedures set by the Macdonald Hotels chain. That said, I fully appreciate that this did not make the situation any easier for you.

We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this has caused.
Please be assured that we will be working closely with Macdonald Hotels to improve these processes so that future customers do not face similar difficulties.
