I’ve fitted hundreds of flights of stairs, overall I found stairbox very good. The interactive design tool is excellent, delivery was prompt, built quality was good. The one downside and this seems to be across nearly all manufacturers is the use of barefaced tenons at the newels, this along with slightly slack tenons and twist is a high possibility. Overall though decent.

A lot of the treads didn’t line up with…
A lot of the treads didn’t line up with strings properly meaning additional work to try and get everything to align correctly. Not the best set we’ve had from you in fact it’s the worse set I’ve ever received. Aside from that I’ve always found your service great and never had a real issue before this .

I found the whole process very easy, communication was excellent, delivery driver Darius was very helpful. The stairs are yet to be assembled but look very good quality, I would highly recommend this company.

Two pieces newel posts glued together
When I came to fit the newel posts, I was disappointed to find they were actually two pieces of wood glued together. That wouldn't have mattered much, but I was hoping to stain the stairs, and the glue line shows. Nothing on the listing mentions this. I'm only a DIYer, so I don't know if that's standard for these or not.
Delivery was on time and the tracking was really useful, so I knew exactly where the posts were. Glued or not, the finish on them is nice, and you get plenty of extra length for cutting and adjusting to fit.

Wrong turn element
I have received one element of my staircase turn wrong as someone at the factory put the correct label on the wrong item, so that mistake delayed my installation for one week and left me with unnecessary cost.

Stairbox have never failed us on a staircase always been bang on.Even when the wrong newel caps were supplied sam couldn't apologise enough and the correct ones were out within a day top draw service and product.
