Straker`s Staff communicated very well & were unfailingly helpful & pleasant. There was a bit of confusion in the early days, with the Sale board not displaying "Viewing by appt only" & not sited very well. That was quickly rectifies within a few days.

Great communication throughout and a really personable service. Felt well supported and advised throughout, especially having been let down by another estate agent and auction sale previously. We rented our house for 10 years through Strakers when we moved abroad with work. When we engaged Strakers they said our house had a huge "wow factor" as we had invested 12 years of love, time and cash into getting the house to an immaculate standard. Having just seen the condition of our house after a period of complete mismanagement by Strakers we are completely devastated. Our first tenants made numerous unapproved modifications to our house and caused extensive damage, which cost us £10k to 20k to repair when they left. Not all issues were fixed so our second tenants (lovely people) inherited a house and garden in a poor condition.

Our original Strakers agent was relatively effective but failed to highlight any deficiencies until the first tenants left (with unpaid rent and expensive damage). In 2020 Strakers increased their fees and promised better service. The service level nosedived as our new agent had no relevant experience and failed to do the most basic management functions unless we asked her. She failed to notify us when rent reviews were due, failed to understand the most fundamental clauses in the tenancy agreement, and (after prompting her) prepared an end-of-tenancy report which stated that the house was in very good repair. Having just seen our house and garden we quickly spotted a huge number of issues which will cost us tens of thousands of pounds to repair over several months. We need to replace almost all carpets, fix bad damage to our very expensive Rayburn, engage a plumber and electrician to fix numerous problems, completely redecorate the entire house and start again with what was a beautiful garden. We are heartbroken at what has happened to our house and disgusted with the complete lack of care by Strakers.

I would avoid, they have some questionable practices and lies come out of their mouths with ease.

I placed my property with them to sell. After a couple of months I gave them notice as I wasn’t happy with their service. An offer was made in this notice period. I felt that Strakers deliberately misled me over the length of the chain. I believe they gave me false information to lessen the chain and make the offer seem more attractive. They did this to induce me to accept the offer in the notice period. By the time I found out the correct length of the chain and this information did not come from them I was 6 to 7 weeks in. I had already committed £5k in Solicitors fees for the sale and a purchase. The chain collapsed and they were not even aware of this, I was informed via my buyer, this was just a few days before completion. I made a formal complaint, they failed to investigate my complaint and ignored correspondence from me. I reduced their fee accordingly and I was threatened with legal action. They refused to meet with me to try to resolve my complaint. Their answer was to refer me to the Property Ombudsman and take no accountability for their lies and poor service.To cut a very long story short eventually the house sale did go through. Strakers ended up waiving their fee completely…... They cited issues with their contract but I suspect it was a fear of having their membership to the Property Ombudsman revoked.

I cannot recommend Mark Loveday at Strakers highly enough after my experience buying my first home. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, efficient, and stress-free, all thanks to Mark's exceptional support.
