Group Ski Trip

I recently used Whiteroad to organise a ski trip for a group of 15 people, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Ollie was an excellent help from start to finish. I gave him an idea of what we were looking for in terms of price point, resort, and overall vibe, and he came back with a range of fantastic options that really hit the mark.

He was always quick to respond to my many (many!) questions, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The trip itself was excellent, and a huge part of that was down to Ollie’s support and attention to detail.

I would definitely use Whiteroad again! Thanks again to Ollie for all his help.

Alpe d’Huez Ski Trip

I worked with whiteroad to organise a company ski trip for around 300 people, they provided an excellent service and great experience for all attendees. The booking process was simplified, transfers and pass distribution well organised and the engagement with their team was superb. I would highly recommend and will work with them again.

Would not use Whiteroad again

Would not use Whiteroad again. Large group ski trip, poor service and communication. Terrible app to use. Repeatedly bank details going missing so deposit not returned. Excessive charges from accommodation that Whiteroad did not support their customers on (we were charged for something that was not on the itinery we filled in, which was not there when we arrived) and rude and unhelpful service when questioning these charges.

Added to this late buses causing some of our party to miss their flights - I will add that I did not use their transport as the exact same thing happened last year.

If the group use this company again next year, I would book my own accommodation as I will never use this company again.

Notice that reviews are either 1 star or 5 star - rarely 2 or 3. That tells you that the 5* reviews are likely to be fake as with our group suffering so many issues, there would be a lot more middle of the road. The only reason they are used is that they will accept individual deposits for large groups which most large companies do not do. The lack of supply at this point in the market has given them a monopoly that they abuse with poor service.

Accommodation was materially different…

Accommodation was materially different from what was reasonably expected for the booking. The apartment was overcrowded: some guests were required to share a double bed with people they did not know, and a fifth guest slept on a mattress in the living area. This was raised with reception at the time and we were told nothing could be done. It was also raised with WhiteRoad during the trip and we were advised to submit a complaint after returning, with no resolution offered in resort.

The return transfer arrangements were also problematic. The pick-up point required an uphill walk that was not clearly communicated in advance, and the driver’s conduct towards passengers was inappropriate (including threatening to remove a passenger for carrying food).

A month after the trip, the accommodation deposit has still not been returned. WhiteRoad have stated that refund payments “failed”, but no clear evidence or timeline for resolution has been provided. We have also been informed that deductions may be made under group liability terms, despite the alleged damage occurring in a different building.

For clarity, these points were raised directly with WhiteRoad at the time and afterwards, and this review reflects the outcome of that process. Payment was made by credit card and is now being considered under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 due to the above issues.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback regarding your recent trip. We're sorry to hear that your holiday did not meet your expectations.

For all of our group trips, the accommodation occupancy is stated at the time of booking. If you select an accommodation that is offered at full occupancy, this will require sharing double beds and utilising the sofa bed in your apartment.

We aim to make your damage deposit refund available within 14 days of your return home. In order to process the refund, passengers are required to provide details of a nominated bank account to which we will process a bank transfer. These can fail for a number of reasons, such as incorrect account details, in which case we will be in touch as soon as we are notified that the payment has bounced. As stated in the terms you agreed to, your deposit is pooled with other members of your group and is held by us to cover the cost of any additional charges levied against your own booking/ your group as a whole.

We would like to investigate your return transfer as we take reports regarding driver conduct very seriously. To help us look into this, please email help@whiteroad.co.uk with further details and we will ensure this is followed up.

Outstanding service

We have worked with Whiteroad for a number of years now and there performance never fails. From the planning through to delivery and after. The attention to detail in the planning and prep phasees of our annual PropSki event continues through to the delivery in resort. Incredibly pragmatic in an envirornment that is ever changing meaning we continue to deliver a top notch event for our attendees.

Disappointing service and accomodation

First off - communication before the event was 'okay', though not spectacular.

Reps at the event didn't really know what was going on and generally seemed to be there for a jolly, rather than to be helpful - this fight like more of a systemic issue from whiteroad rather than the blame of the individuals.

The accommodation we had wasn't in good repair - compared to an air bnb that came out a similar price, which was a lot neater, had more kitchen equipment and even came with a set of sleds to use.
A single bin bag and toilet roll were provided. No recycling options for the apartment, despite there being municipality recycling bins.

Rather than supporting and investigating when there was a problem, they went with the apartment owners/plumber in the most expensive outcome. This meant replacing something that had already been found to be involved in previous issues in different way with a brand new one fitted and the whole group paying for it.

They key box to drop keys off was not at all clear and resulted two of us having a 30 minute trip around the town to find it was the random box we had dismissed initially

Regarding your accommodation, we didn’t receive any direct contact from you at the time. We always encourage guests to raise concerns so we can help resolve them during the trip, so please do so in future. It is standard across the majority of self-catered apartments that all you will receive is a bin bag and toilet roll, but typically, you need to purchase these yourself for the week.

On the package, we offered tiered accommodation options, which were agreed with your group organisers to allow people with different budgets to attend the trip, which were available for selection on our booking page, along with an events-only package for those who preferred to arrange their own stay while still taking part in the trip and associated benefits.

The issue you mentioned was fully investigated by the supplier and deemed to have occurred during the week, which led to the necessary replacement. In line with our communal damage deposit policy, the resulting charge was shared across the group.

We also appreciate your feedback on the drop-off process and will look at how we can make this clearer in future communications.

What a substandard experience

What a substandard experience. I was an independent booking, joining a larger group. I would rather sleep in my car in future.

It started with random payments being deducted from my credit card after booking which did not match the payment schedule issued to me upon booking, and me having to chase them to find out what these charges were for, transpires the payment schedule and payment system do not talk to one another and are not identical. Then I had to constantly chase in advance to be issued my accommodation and transfer vouchers. Then chase to ask to have linen and towels added to booking - since when are linen and towels considered an optional extra?!? (I am a small adult but found the towels so tiny that it was like drying myself with a Kleenex.)

The accommodation was dire. The whole apartment block had a foul stench noticeable as soon as walking in the main entrance. The studio itself was dirty, with 'crumbs' all over the floor, a soggy wet toilet roll shoved down the side of the vanity unit in the bathroom (who were the people lucky enough to have spare toilet rolls), all the crockery and cutlery dirty, the fridge smelly. Washing up liquid provided but no sponge or cloth to clean anything with. A chair in the corner which is best described as a murder scene.

The roll away bed was a real treat. Sleeping six inches off a dirty floor (with no means to clean as no vacuum) with terrible sheets and a duvet thinner than my eyelids is an experience I wouldn't put my nemesis through. Never mind the oddly small square pillows, even the stuffing in them had decided enough was enough and must have left the building.

The apartment was constantly cold, no obvious way to increase the heating, so I had to run the oven with its door open. It was like 1986.

The shower door fell off its rail every time it was used, not safe for children or anyone that fears being stabbed by broken glass.

Want to watch tv to distract yourself from the hellish surroundings? Don't bother as that didn't work.

The ski locker barely large enough to fit my boots.

I didn't bother to report these issues as the rep on site simply referred everyone to live chat and I could not get any 4G or better signal in the apartment.

I also joined the WR organised events, forest fondue, folie bbq, sledging. The fondue was an absolute rip off. Had to make own way there on public buses which were hard to get on due to end of day skiers returning to le lac, overpriced for the volume of food and wine served. Then rushed at the end as told we may miss the last bus - why is someone not time keeping the event? The Folie bbq was the pits. Only alcohol option was beer, no wine, and the food was dreadful. The highlight being the dessert, a chocolate brownie, being shoved on top of the coleslaw as I made my way along the conveyor belt of sub standard food being added to my plate. I haven't used mayo as an ice cream substitute before.

I would rather spend time in Mar-a-Lago than ever experience a WhiteRoad trip again.

Snowboarding was great...but very disappointing service from Whiteroad…

Very disappointing service from Whiteroad. The accommodation we were in had no exterior security so anybody could just walk in (which they did), the entrance hall had cracked panes of glass in the doors and was of the standard of a squat if not worse. The events were not great and over priced, especially the forest fondue in which we had to take two buses to get ourselves there and were then forced to stand out in the cold for over an hour with cold drinks. To top it all off, some of our group had issues with the plumbing in their room since day one with water leaking and ruining their personal belongings, culminating midweek with a blocked system and faeces coming up through the bath rendering their bathroom unusable. The problem was attended to but on return home they were presented with a large bill of over 1000 euros and were refused the return of their deposits stating that they caused the blockage. The rest of the group then had their deposits deducted to make up the remaining fee which had not been paid. I find it completely unreasonable to charge a group with this cost as the issue was obviously there before and fair wear and tear should have been taken into account. Every time Whiteroad were approached about this issue their response was a complete shutdown, so they obviously don't care they have 150+ unhappy customers and have lost any future group bookings.

With regards to your accommodation, the quality is certainly not something we anticipate any of our passengers to have any concerns about. It is not common for self-catered apartments within a ski resort to have exterior security, as such it is expected to anticipate other people staying in that residence to be able to come and go as they wish.

In respect of your comments about the events; this is certainly feedback we can take on board for next season, in order to enhance our passenger experiences as much as possible, as we appreciate each individual will have their own preferences on the events that are scheduled for the week. Our Forest Fondue is a popular event that takes place on many of our trips, so it's a real shame to hear you didn't enjoy it. The information regarding how to get there was communicated to the group prior to the event, including the bus routes and schedule, as this is the usual location for the event to take place, to allow passengers to be as prepared as possible.

Regarding the concerns with the communal charge - the fault raised within the apartment in question was attended to, and confirmed as being an issue that arose during your week in resort as opposed to before, due to the way in how the damage was caused and the day it occurred. Unfortunately the room in question did not pay the remainder of the invoice required, as such the communal charge has been applied to your booking in line with the terms and conditions on our website, which are available to view at any time prior to making a booking with us. Unfortunately, WhiteRoad are unable to absorb any costs incurred as a result of damage caused by a passenger on a trip.

Everything about this service is poor

Everything about this service is poor, poor communication, poor reps, always reffered to the live chat even if it wasnt manned. to top it all off, i didnt get my full deposit back, not because of my room, but because of an issue (that hasnt fully been explained) in someone elses room, who were on the same group trip even though I didnt know them.

Just avoid like the plague.

I've had a great experience organising…

I've had a great experience organising ski trips with Whiteroad. I have organized groups as big as 85 and the entire experience is made easy with whiteroad. They are great at communicating. Always quick same hour responses. WhatsApp and email friendly. The options for trips are fantastic. And the support at the resort is amazing

Amazing week in L2A

Amazing week in L2A. Whiteroad made sure all the stings were pulled in the background for us to seamlessly enjoy our time in resort. From the boring stuff such as ski hire, to lively events and apres spots: you can trust that these guys have it sorted. The reps were always on hand to bring the vibe and troubleshoot where necessary; a big thank you to Sierra, Louise, Ellie, Lottie and Frankie to name a few! Events were great and well.organised, with a great ticketing system for everything (events, equipment, lift passes, transport)

The only thing I'd fault is the app itself didn't have the same info as the website, seems it's populated differently which is a bit of a nuisance for events and equipment hire.

WhiteRoad experience

Our group (Ctrl.Alt.Ski) used WhiteRoad on our recent trip to Les Deux Alpes and they did not disappoint.

The app is super helpful and clear for updates. Calls are made when people appear late to agreed locations (much better than no contact at all) and the reps were genuinely there to help!

Also they know how to
a) make sure you have fun
b) have fun themselves.

Love to see it, highly reccomend!

ctrl.altconnect trip launch!

Planning, preperation and execution of our ctrl.altconnect launch trip could not have gone better. Finn, Brad, Issy and the rep team such as Louise, Lottie, Sierra and Frankie made our week in L2A both a breeze and huge success. This is down to a number of factors such as their formidable experience in doing these sorts of trips, as well as the environment and can do attitude they create in resort.

I would highly recommend Whiteroad for your ski trip. I look forward to collaborating many more years to come.
