There is so much good information on this site. I’ve studied German for a few years but I still have a lot of questions. I really appreciate all the work put into this project.

Your Daily German is a great resource, as it explains the links in meaning between English and German words, and between different forms of German words (e.g. verbs with various prefixes). It does much more than this too.

The beauty of Manny’s thinking and his site is a wonderful thing like no other; at least, that’s my take. The first thing to mention is that I found myself learning to translate my German friend’s writings on cultural theory without knowing any German four years ago using DeepL. Naturally, I tried taking beginner German courses, including Goethe-Institut, only to fail miserably because they’re not geared to the subtleties of Deutsche Kulturtheorie…but then I then found YourdailyGerman, where Manny’s explanation of German sentence structure was of immediate benefit, unlocking the text we’ve been working on, and the praises go on.

The other thing to mention is that I took his card game with me to Berlin last winter, where it became the centerpiece of the Daily German lessons my friend gave me. It’s a really cool way to learn about those breakable verbs.

This website is so much better than just looking something up in an online dictionary Even when I think I’ll just go brush up on what I learned in college German, I learn something new. And it’s fun!

Emanuel is a brilliant teacher, because he understands the intricacies and ambiguities of both German and English and, therefore, foresees how the learner might interpret words and explanations in various ways. Consequently, he explains thoroughly to avoid misunderstanding .
He clearly has a love of language and his explanation of the derivation of words is not only fascinating, but helps me to remember the words and phrases.
And he does all this with a sense of humour and seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
I've been learning from him for some years now and appreciate his commitment to constantly improving what he has to offer.

With Your Daily German it feels as though you are part of a real community, even though you are taking the course online, at your own speed and in your own choice of order. Highly recommended!

Excellent site for learning German. The free content is great, and if you choose to pay for additional access, you get your money's worth with no problems or unpleasant surprises.

I have been using this service for the past few years and I can confidently say it is the very best of its type!

I have been using Your Daily German on and off since I came across the site upon moving to Switzerland back in 2017 when my German learning journey also began. I find the humour, thoughtfulness and all round effort that Emanuel puts into his lessons, courses and material to be second to none and I have always enjoyed engaging with his content. He has built a real community around the site and is always actively engaging with it via the comments section of each and every exercise. I always highly recommend the site to anyone who is learning German, no matter what level they are at. I relocated back to Ireland last summer but I continue to read Emanuel's regular newsletter as a way to keep in touch with my German. Keep up the great work, Emanuel 😊

Interesting, erudite, fun. It reaches the parts other sites don't in terms of understanding the 'how and why' of the German language, where it comes from, how it relates to English/other languages, and why some things may look right but don't sound idiomatic.

A unique way to learn and improve your German language skills. This not only includes vocabulary, but also Idioms and grammar in a fun way. Overall, I can’t thank Emanuel enough for his time and effort to make German language learning journey easier.

I have been using yourdailyGerman for years and find it excellent in really getting to grips with the language. It doesn’t just tell you the standard textbook stuff about what words mean, but it really explains how they are used and the subtleties of meaning that a native speaker would intuitively understand. I find it invaluable.

It really is a fun, well informed site for practicing and learning German, with new features being developed regularly - it is interactive, so that you can record your answers easily, it spots mistakes and you can check your pronunciation.

For both the beginners and higher, If you truely want to understand German, Emanuel has the best in-depth explantions and reviews on all things German and does it with humor and understanding from where non-german speakers are coming from. I have been studying with Emanuel for over 10 years

Since meeting Emmanuel of Yourdailygerman (well, not personally met him, but I feel like he has become a friend), I feel like I can actually speak German! The resources he has created--practical dictionaries, games, fascinating word studies, worksheets--its far beyond anything I have found in years of German study.
