Dear Customer,
We’re sorry this was your experience. I dealt with your case directly and want to explain our position clearly. We did not say we were refusing to help. Because this delivery was outside our domestic postal system, we needed confirmation from the receiving postal service before we could proceed with a replacement or other resolution. Our postal service representative helped us investigate and advised that your country’s postal service would be able to provide confirmation if the parcel had been reported as stolen, lost, or misdelivered. We contacted Swiss Post customer service, who confirmed that this parcel was delivered through the postal box / letterbox, not left in a safe place.

You mentioned that your postal service had confirmed the parcel was stolen, but unfortunately no written confirmation of this was provided to us. We do understand that thefts can happen, and we are not dismissing that possibility. However, where the tracking information contradicts the customer’s claim, we do need some form of evidence from the receiving postal service before we can treat it as a lost or stolen parcel. This helps us make sure the replacement process is not abused and is handled fairly for all customers.

We remain happy to review this further if the requested confirmation, which we were advised Swiss Post can provide, is sent to us.

Unprofessional, Uncommunicative, Uncaring and Unaccountable - BEWARE

This is an update following on from a first Google review I left on 21 April 2026.
Abbey Essentials DO NOT communicate or take accountability for selling bad batch oils. I have had to report Abbey Essentials to Trading Standards today for restricting my account with them, deliberately blocking my ability to communicate with them and their non -communication after I complained to them about suffering from respiratory issues after using one (or more) of their floral oils. This was likely a one off bad batch of one oil. I say that because I had no issues of these same oils from AE prior to this. Furthermore, I bought samples of the same oils from other brands and have had no issues with them. This proved that I haven't suddenly developed an allergy, I believe it was a bad batch of one of the aforementioned oils.
However, rather than accept responsibility, take accountability, remain communicative and show due diligence and concern to a loyal customer who has spent £482.93 with them in the last five months alone, AE blocked my mobile number, have not responded to ANY of my emails as to why my two attempted orders were cancelled within seconds this week with 'reason unknown' and shown the utmost unprofessionalism. I am deeply disappointed and aghast quite frankly at their nonchalance and lack of due diligence. Further, they have not responded to my repeated request for their complaints policy which is my consumer right. I am deeply concerned that the phone number listed as an emergency contact in their technical documents is never answered and I can never speak to a human being. This is a concern I registered with them back in April too.

You contacted us raising a serious health and product-safety concern, while also saying you were unsure whether the issue was caused by one of our oils.

Because of the seriousness of that claim, we asked for the basic information needed to investigate properly, including how the oils had been used and any evidence or findings supporting the concern.

The key facts are:

You initially stated you were unsure whether our product caused the issue, but then publicly presented it as if Abbey Essentials had sold “bad batch oils”.

You asked us to send free replacement products so you could “test” your theory, despite claiming the oils may have caused respiratory issues.

You requested a refund nearly a month after purchase, without returning the products and without providing evidence to support the allegation.

You claim we ignored you, but we replied and asked for the information needed to investigate. You did not provide it.


We did not agree to send free replacement products. Some of the products were wholesale-sized items, and more importantly, if you genuinely believed the oils may have caused respiratory issues, it would not have been responsible for us to send more oils for you to "test on yourself".

We also explained that we could not process an unsupported refund nearly a month after purchase, without the products being returned and without any evidence to support the allegation. Any return would need to follow our returns process.

The timing and circumstances of this review are important. It was left after we declined to send free replacement products and after we explained that an unsupported refund could not be processed without following the returns process. In our view, this makes the review retaliatory rather than a fair account of the situation. An identical negative review has also been posted from a second Trustpilot profile, which reinforces our concern that this is retaliatory review activity intended to damage our reputation, rather than a separate genuine customer experience.

We remain willing to review any genuine product-safety concern properly, but we need the information previously requested. If you believe messages have not reached us, please consider the language used, as abusive messages may be caught by filters. We have also manually reviewed filtered messages where appropriate, so this is not a case of us ignoring your emails. We do not tolerate abuse towards our customer support team, and we do not respond to what we consider feedback extortion, including attempts to use negative reviews, duplicate profiles, threats of regulatory complaints or reputational pressure to obtain free products, refunds or outcomes outside our policies.

We will always review legitimate concerns when raised constructively and with the information needed to investigate.

Dear Customer,

We’re sorry your order was delayed, and we understand how frustrating it is.

According to the tracking information, your order was dispatched the next working day after it was placed. Unfortunately it got delayed within Royal Mail’s network and was delivered 10 days after the order date.

While we do everything we can to dispatch orders promptly, postal delays are outside our direct control. We do feel sorry when Royal Mail lets our customers down in this way :(

If a parcel is overdue and not received within 72h, we always recommend contacting us so we can look into it. In many cases, when we contact the local depot or raise an investigation, it helps get the parcel moving again.

We’re glad the parcel has now been delivered, but we are sorry again for the delay.

We dispatch all orders placed by 3pm on the same working day, using Royal Mail Tracked 48 as standard. Royal Mail lists this as a delivery aim rather than a guaranteed service, so unfortunately some parcels can take a little longer than expected and this is outside our direct control :(
