Unceasing, unsolicited texts
I haven't donated to ActBlue in six years. I thought I terminated my account. And yet I'm still receiving unsolicited texts, even though I have repeatedly reported them.
I will never donate through ActBlue again. I will donate to individual candidates directly.
I was charged $25 on my credit card
I was charged $25 on my credit card. I don't vote Democrat. I suspect fraud and have contacted my credit card company. Unfortunately their only solution is to issue me a new card which would cause even more problems since I pay multiple monthly bills automatically on my card and I would need to supply new card info to each of them. The thought of Amy Acton as governor is terrifying. If she would run the state as she ran the COVID crisis we would be in serious trouble. The fact that medical associations endorse her opponent speaks volumes about her competency.
What a pain!
I would give them zero stars if I could. I am more than happy to donate to candidates in my state but will never sign up to do it through Act Blue ever again. I get at least 15 to 25 texts a day from all over the country asking me to donate. I have cancelled all my donations, closed my account and am still getting them. They need to review their policies. I'll find another way to financially support candidates from my state but it won't be through Act Blue. Ever again!!!
ActBlue relentless spam!
Getting spam from these freaks again. Never subscribed to ANYTHING from they/them. Hope I don’t trigger “it”
ActBlue violated my privacy
I received a request from my local congressman for a donation. ActBlue managed the donation. Then I started getting requests from candidates outside of my area. I contacted ActBlue and asked them to stop sending my name to other candidates. They said they don’t send out names to other places. But apparently I upset them because then I started getting two or three request every day from candidates all across the United States. All I can do is put a stop on each separate text and it’s getting old. So if they tell you, they don’t send out your name. They are lying. Don’t use them for your donations, donate directly.
DIshonest fundraisers!
I donated some money to a candidate of my preference in SOuth Carolina. Actblue was extremely aggresive and kept pushing for more and more, that did not stop. i tried calling their number to complain many times but it alwasy rang busy. After htis experience I started getting many more request to support other candidat,e which indicates that Act blue isd selling my priv ate information to ogther donors. THis is unethical and unacceptable. I am WITHDRAWING MY DONATION. this company should be held liable.
NEVER give info to ActBlue
Never, ever, ever give ActBlue any information. They were the only option for donating to a candidate of my choice. In less than 24 hours, email and cell phone information had been sold to more organizations than I can possibly count. The bombardment of scam-mail and unwanted fund raising text messages is beyond unethical. It is an abuse of trust. I will never use this site again, and I am reporting them to as many consumer protection groups as I can possibly find.
Actblue is very quick and helpful
Actblue is very quick and helpful for donating to campaigns. It does not share your information but when they tell a campaign you donated to them, which they are required to do, the campaign is probably the one who shares your info. They aren’t taking in foreign money like the GOP is claiming. That is totally false.
They have started to steal from donators
Had not had any issues till my last transaction with them. They charged me twice for the same donation and refused to cancel one even though it was within minutes of the donation.
I won't donate through ActBlue again
I won't donate through ActBlue again. There is no valid reason to ask for a phone number. And certainly no valid reason to ask for a home address. The zip code should suffice. Too many text messages stating I haven't donated when I did a day or two earlier. If my candidate isn't receiving my donation, then where is it going? I am beyond disappointment. I'll find another way to donate to candidates from now on.
Act blue is the worst
First of all I only give to local Kansas campaigns because (BTW the DNC doesn't give any campaigns in RED states money...this is how you lose a whole country to Republicans) anyway once I give to local candidates in Kansas I get random give me money campaigns FOREVER AFTERWARD. I HATE ACT BLUE!@!@@!!@@#!!#
Donate if you want constant spam texts…
Donate if you want constant spam texts from act blue for the rest of your life. Seriously, I got 10 within a few hours and it's causing me to occasionally miss actual text messages that I need to see. I'm sorry I donated I guess... but please stop punishing me. I won't do it again I swear.
Scammer hosting
A "innocent nonprofit" that's frequently used for scams and fraud via SMS spams. This is the business model they choose to provide. Every election time, the SMS scams flood in for this web site and nothing can stop them.
Way to piss off your own base!
I can't even remember how long it's been since I made the mistake of making a donation via ActBlue, but every election season, I get emails and texts about Democratic candidates, surveys, etc. NEVER AGAIN. Not only that, but if you're one of us who gets spammed like this- don't click or donate!
Spam merchants
They will give your phone number and email to every democratic candidate in the country. You'll get text spam from everyone from Presidential candidates to the assistant dogcatcher in Portland Maine. DO NOT donate through Act Blue. Do it directly to your candidate, by mail if you have to.
While I support the platform and…
While I support the platform and donate, it comes with another price.
Since 9/14, the last time I donated, I have received dozens of texts daily from candidates wanting more. I unsubscribe from each one but it is endless, time consuming, and expect it to last til Nov. Some people do not have unlimited texting, making this especially daunting. I blame Act Blue for sharing the info. Their feeble and token response is a scripted how-to on how to unsubscribe, even though I told them I was already doing so. They don't care about the problem. So, no good deed goes unpunished.
I feel I have no other choice but to start reporting texts as spam and blocking.
Crestfallen
I have been donating to Act Blue since Obama campaigns. I appreciated the seemingly truthful alerts and info and ease & safety of donating to various campaigns, etc.
Lately, I've received disingenuous alerts that actually seem fox noise info to their cult type of info. They are not lies but dates are wrong or info doesn't match the title being texted exactly. Designed to alarm the prospective donor. Saying Chf Justice Robert gave DIRE warning about trump's endangering the rule of law!! NO He didnt! Roberts said in May 2025 that rule of law is endangered because of poor civics education of students in our schools! Not a peep about Trump! Have seen supposed quotes of our reps or differing scenarios lately! I feel like Im being treated like a trump cultist member..ignorant and lapping up misinfo!!
What a mistake it is to donate through…
What a mistake it is to donate through ActBlue! They do not tell you ANY of this. If you give ActBlue your phone number when you donate they give it to the campaign that you donated to. Here is the big problem. ActBlue allows all the campaigns to share your phone number with each other. With the other 400 plus campaigns. So as soon as the first campaign has it, within a day or two all 400 plus campaigns also have your phone number.
Every one of them is going to write to you, sometimes repeatedly. They send you a short message with a link to donate. They don’t care what you think. They are not going to have a conversation with you. They are not going to reply to ANY message that you send them, period.
I have replied to between 200 and 300 of these campaigns and nobody wrote back to me. Not once.
I complained to ActBlue about receiving 400 plus text solicitations on my phone, ALL because of them. They refuse to do anything about it. They said we do not share your phone number with the campaigns. That may be literally true but they created the situation knowingly. They allow the campaigns to do this.
They said if I don’t like it then I should unsubscribe from all the campaigns, one at a time, over 400 campaigns. That was their solution.
I will never donate through ActBlue regardless, because of this.
It’s obnoxious, rude and unnecessary. They do not give the donor the option to opt in to receiving 400+ text solicitations, spread out for weeks and months. It has been going on for months. Who would ever opt in to that?! They do not offer the option to opt OUT of it either.
I told them they should comply with the state and federal anti spam laws. They might be complying or violating the laws. I don’t know.
Overall a classless, greedy and dishonest practice and organization.
Will never donate through actblue…
Will never donate through actblue again. After doing so you will be bombarded by dozens of unsolicited texts!
Overwhelmed with text messages from the…
Overwhelmed with text messages from the entire country and also from single issue groups. I donated through Act Blue about a month ago and the volume of text messages hasn’t decreased. It averages about 25 a day.
They have a duty to let you know in advance that your cell number will be shared with every candidate and related group in the country!
