The tipping system is predatory and insulting

The tipping system feels predatory. Ok, maybe we need a fundraising platform. That costs money, I get it. But it’s a necessary evil. We’d all rather give directly to candidates, but first we have to navigate a system that seems designed to trick us into tipping 10%. We’re giving money we don’t have to a system we don’t believe in all to combat the influence of real corporate dark money, and this platform is skimming from the top. Just take the bare minimum of what you need and stop trying to get more, particularly from the less technically savvy. It is utter bullshit. Not to mention that “tipping” is a terrible system that allows employers to pay employees less money and really should be outlawed. And by asking for tips you take the attention away from the candidates and races. It is asinine, manipulative and insulting to ask for tips. Stop it.

Bombarded by text for every democratic candidate in the US

First, I'm really sorry that so many of you have experienced what I have. I have donated to campaigns via ActBlue over several campaigns. When I donated in the past presidential election I was bombarded with unwanted text from candidates from every state.
"S to Stop" means absolutely nothing. Does anyone have an idea how many Americans this practice
has discouraged from donating like myself? It's sad when you can't support your candidates campaign because of ActBlue. How will it effect the upcoming elections? I'm not going to chase you down trying to give you money. I hope they fix it.

Leave me alone

Leave me alone! I will never contribute to another candidate via Act Blue. Stop! Just stop sending me text messages. Just STOP.
Do you have any idea how off putting your behavior is?? Stop selling donor information.

I've been an ActBlue user for about 7…

I've been an ActBlue user for about 7 years and have found it to be an excellent way to support numerous candidates and causes I care about. I have never been charged for any help or advice I've gotten from them. In fact, I find those reviewer's comments to be suspiciously false. I have not found it to be the "spam monster" some reviewers have complained about, and (assuming these comments are true) I think this may reflect most people's misunderstanding about how fundraising works. Organizations and campaigns often share info about their donors, because it's a proven fact that if a donor gives to one type of individual/cause, they are likely to give to another. And that individual/cause is going to ask you for additional donations, because it's a proven fact that a current donor is most likely to give you another donation. Don't blame the organizations, blame the fact that "Citizens United" opened the door for mega-wealthy corporations/individuals to bankroll campaigns, so those that want to rely on individual donors (usually Democratic) must do everything they can to get every dollar they can. If you truly believe in that candidate/cause, be ready to give a little deeper than you think you can.

ActBlue is giving away donor's information.

I am tired of the constant text messages I receive daily from numerous politicians; some I've never heard of. I receive at least 50 per day. I have reached out to ActBlue and they denied having anything to do with my information being given out. I am a donor but am having second thoughts about my donation. Attempting to unsubscribe to these texts is useless. I'm very angry and a lot disappointed in ActBlue.

Act Blue is the worst

Act Blue is the worst. Once you start a monthly donation is hard to stop it. And the WORST is that they sell your info so you get 20 requests from other campaigns every day. I hate ActBlue. Wish I had never donated thru this app.

Act Blue lied about protecting our privacy

Somehow you let my phone number out and I am being inundated by political text messages. I block each one and report it as spam. I cannot bring myself to even donate to Democrates through actblue anymore. Youve ruined my text platform and I will probably have to change my phone number after 25 years. I hate that Democrates aren't getting our small donations anymore. They should not work with act blue. This has negatively impacted my life so much. Don't tell us it's not your fault. We aren't stupid.

Surge of Suspicious Negative Reviews

It’s disappointing to see a sudden surge of negative reviews right as midterms approach. ActBlue has been operating smoothly since 2004, so this sudden wave over the past year feels questionable. Personally, I’ve never had a single issue using the platform and think people should look closely at where these bad reviews are really coming from.

"Providing a phone number when donating…

"Providing a phone number when donating is optional. We pass along your number to the group you gave to and no one else. This contact information is vital for groups running grassroots fundraising programs. We never sell or share your personal information with anyone beyond the group you gave to, and ActBlue will never text you." This is a quote from their FAQ page.

This is my communication to them:
Ticket Name: being inundated with text messages after a donation made on through your platform
Ticket description: email to Osborn for Senate: I made a one-time donation to Dan via a link in a text message from (402)252-1956 which turns out was made through ActBlue. Since that time I have been inundated with texts from other democrat candidates, organization, and probably PAC’s that I have no interest in. Each text comes from a distinct phone number, meaning that I need to block each and every one of them—and yet they still keep coming. My ActBlue donor information does not even list my cell phone number, so this compounds my frustration. I will not make any future donations if this is the result I get. Can you help me get my number off of the mass text list at it’s source? I’d appreciate that. I think Dan is a good candidate for Nebraska, but the (as I see it) underhanded sharing of my personal information is not good! Thanks in advance if you can help.

WARNING! Don't ever use ActBlu!

WARNING! Don't ever use ActBlu! I didn't know ActBlu was a Democratic PAC. I donated just once recently and now I'm inundated with MULTIPLE text messages. They gave out my phone number across the country. Which leaves it open for Data Brokers to sell/resell my data. Is ActBlu selling my data to Data Brokers who can sell it on the Dark Web? It's a BAD COMPANY!

Never give through ActBlue

Never give through ActBlue. NEVER.
They keep giving my number out to candidates and organizations from all over the country.
I have tried to get my number removed from their list for 3 years now.
I have received thousands of texts and.list jobs because my text is so cluttered by ActBlue. They actually keep sending me texts directly from ActBlue.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
I think ActBlue might be a Donald Trump organization because it is so abusive to elderly women.
I've already received 10 texts just in the morning. And I get spam calls from them too.
Can anyone help me?. I have written STOP at least a thousand times.

I wish I could choose zero stars. I'm also inundated after making a donation to Roy Cooper thru ActBlue. It's infuriating and they have alienated me from ever making another donation. Period.

ActBlue sells my contact and leaves me with dozens of spams daily.

I used to donate through ActBlue over the years but recently, they have sold my phone number and contact to hundreds of orgs that spam my sms with up to a dozen messages per day, as well as on my email.
I asked them to stop but they said it's out of their hands and I have to contact my cell service provider. What???

Do not donate through ActBlue. It is now in the business of making money and not doing it for causes.

Find other ways to donate to your causes.
