Sales your info and floods your text inbox daily
I used ActBlue for years. This year, after making 3 donations to campaigns I researched and wanted to support. I started getting texts from what seems like every state except Hawaii and Alaska. I received texts from campaigns running against the campaigns I had already donated to through ActBlue. I received over 20 texts on some days. I WILL NEVER DONATE THROUGH ACTBLUE AGAIN. They took a great platform to help people easily make donations and turned it into an intrusive money-grubbing site. I'm a democrat since I could fist vote 50 years ago. I'll still vote but I will NEVER donate through ActBlue!!!!!
Democrats should be ashamed of…
Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for using this garbage platform
as their only method of accepting donations. They sell our phone numbers and emails and then hundreds of requests saturate our emails and phone texts. Its repulsively money grubbing and a total disregard for donor privacy, And NOW they have rigged the texts so even if you try to “STOP” or “End”them, you have to repeatedly retry to send before it goes through and they have rigged it this way on purpose! So low down!
"Quit the team or donate" from Gina Hinojosa
I was going to contribute to Gina Hinojosa in Texas when I got a nasty response from her web site to my comment that every donation should be appreciated. They said they didn't have time for that or they won't be able to get it together and beat Abbot. Then suggested that I should quit "being on the team," if I felt like that. So I did quit and cancelled further deductions. Only to have ActBlue take a donation out of my bank account today after I no longer wanted any part of Gina. Texas should have welcomed me as I live in Utah. I also want ActBlue to remove all of my account out of their files. I don't want to ever hear from them or Texas ever again. I sure hope this gets the follow up it deserves. Many seniors like me don't have much and $3 is too much to get kicked around for.
Donation equals NonStop political texts
Have used actblue before without it being this bad, but they seem to lack the enforcement teeth to stop other pacs or candidates from getting your phone number. Their boiler plate "we don't help them do that" is irrelevant. Its happening. 5 to 10 damn texts a day. "reply STOP" doesn't do SHIT.
They will sell your data without your consent
Asked this company to tell me what data they have on me, not to sell my data, and also to delete my data, and they didn't do any of it! Scammy scammy company, stay far away.
The overwhelming amount of unsolicited…
The overwhelming amount of unsolicited texts, not being able to reach anyone for help concerning this, refusal to remove my name and info from your database. All of this happened following a one time donation on ActBlue to a campaign and seemingly, somehow my info got to other campaigns. This organization has our phone numbers and info but they pretty much ghosts their donors? That's not right and it's embarrassing as a party, considering what we're already up against. This is what I get for making a one time donation to a candidate's campaign.
act blue is THE WORST charity to donate…
act blue is THE WORST charity to donate to... they give your number to every cause known to man and you eill never be able to mitigate the spam texts!!!
I made a terrible mistake donating here
Please don’t donate through this website. Find your local group. This site is a curse to you. You will receive multiple daily requests from every state for “emergency “ money. Never, never, use them. There is no way to stop them. They are requesting money as I type this.
Bad people don’t donate money please…
Bad people don’t donate money please these people are corrupted
It's great to have a platform to donate…
It's great to have a platform to donate to Democratic candidates. One huge problem; there are no guidelines for users of the platform to contact people for donations, none. Your number gets passes around like an old recipe. They say we're just a platform inferring no responsibility for how the site is used by candidates as a platform to solicit donations. I wish I never joined. I'm getting texts up to 11:00 at night!! I had to utilize a DND function on my phone so I wouldn't be getting alerts when I am sleeping. And that pisses me off because then my phone is off to family and close friends! I removed my phone number from the site and still got constant solicitations. I constantly reply "STOP" and they keep coming. Then I cancelled my account and continued to be bombarded with text requests for money. It is the worse platform I have ever joined. I certainly want to support the democratic party, but this platform became the avenue for actually, political harassment and late-night texts!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM!!!!! Date of experience- every day since I gave them my phone number over years and years ago.
DO NOT JOIN DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER!!
Your help options just don't match my need. The date listed is approximate.
Your help options just don't match my problem. To be as simple as possible, please cancel all donation to End Citizens United. There were a series of them, all of which I marked one time only, but it won't cancel the one I marked recurring. No refunds requested.
DON'T EVER USE ACTBLUE!
I made a one-time contribution to a specific political candidate and immediately started receiving requests for money from political campaigns all over the United States, as well as a multitude of nonprofit organizations. I receive 10 to 20 text messages every day. ActBlue must be making tons of money by selling our contact information to every organization that is soliciting donations and I haven't been able to find any information on how to make them stop.
I am thoroughly fed up with Act Blue
I am thoroughly fed up with Act Blue. Today I had 19 spam requests for money. I harbor special hatred for the phony questionnaires and petitions, which are just another form of fund-raising. If you want my opinion, do not attach it to a request for money. I am so DONE with you.
ActBlue sells your contact info
ActBlue is great if you want every Democrat in the country texting you for money. It took less than 48 hours for my phone to be shared and I’m averaging 40 text messages a day
They will sell your phone and email before the ink dries on your donation.
Constant Neverending Spam
I donated ONCE to ONE PERSON, and I have been inundated with constant text messages from candidates that I've never heard of from nowhere near me ever since. Their contact form doesn't even work, their support insists that they don't send text messages so it isn't their problem, and replying "Stop" does nothing .So there is literally nothing I can do. At this rate I'll just have to change my phone number. This volume of unsolicited contact is not fundraising, or campaigning, or even advertising. It is harassment! I won't ever donate using ActBlue again, and I won't ever give another penny by ANY method to any candidate that knowingly uses a platform that so blatantly disrespects the people they are asking for help. This should be criminal.
ActBlue Fails the Democratic Party
My experience has been the same as every other person who wrote a one-star review. Sadly, ActBlue probably hurts the Democratic Party more than it helps. Maybe republicans are running the organization
One donation, 12 years of fighting spam
I donated via ActBlue over ten years ago. I STILL receive numerous emails per week. This is after more than ten years of unsubscribing from every new candidate somewhere in the country that thinks I should support them. I have to unsubscribe to about three new campaigns per week. They clearly sell people's info because I receive emails from candidates via other platforms too. One act of support leads to years of spam. NEVER again. What a scam. I repeatedly let candidates I support know I will never give a penny via ActBlue, they don't seem to care. That tells me a lot.
WARNING - give only to individuals not to organizations
WARNING - Use Act Blue only to contribute to individual candidates. I contributed to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and to Democratic Action through ActBlue. I am bombarded by texts and emails from candidates I do not know and have no interest in. I complained to ActBlue.
ActBlue is careful to say they do not distribute personal information. ActBlue, however, does carry organizations like the DNC that do distribute my personal information. If this is not fraudulent it certainly is deceitful. ActBlue should, but does not, warn contributors that organizations like The DNC will widely distribute their contact information.
I will never contribute through ActBlue to anyone other than an individual candidate.
I asked ActBlue to tell me how they will change their web site to clearly warn contributors they are about to contribute to an organization whose privacy policy allows them to distribute name, phone number or email.
I got a ticket niumber but no response after two weeks
Would give them zero Stars if I could
Would give them zero Stars if I could. like everyone else here i am getting an unreliable amount of requests for money. I call this spam. I have contacted them about it and they have not responded and I have only gotten even more texts than before. .

I agree with others who report a very high rate of spam text solicitations from ActBlue even for candidates outside of my jurisdiction. This group actually makes me want to vote less for the Democratic candidates who use is. Awful.
