Bimmermap Avis 

I purchased the required update for my BMW from Bimmermaps. Everything went well with regard to ordering, payment, delivery, installation and activation. However, in use, it seemed the new map was not current even if the version info said it was. I asked why that would be and received an unconvincing explanation. So, I’m left uncertain. DYODD

Stay away from this business! It does not deliver on what it promises.
I purchased an upgrade for my 2011 BMW in July 2021. For various reasons, I did not get around to wanting to install it until now. I have an email receipt for the purchase but no indication of how to download the file. When I contacted Bimmermap at their 'info' address, the first reply was an automated response that just pointed me to purchase another upgrade for $149. After I replied to that, I got snarky replies from 'Nick', as other people have reported. Here is a textbook example of terrible customer service:

Me:
"Hi,
I purchased this upgrade last year. I need to download the upgrade file, but cannot find an email with the link init. Also, when I enter my VIN and email address at the Bimmermap website, the only option is to pay for anotherupgrade/subscription for $149, even though the applicable map is still dated 2022. Please help me down load theupgrade I paid for."

Nick:
"Hi,
sorry, but you did not get the update last year after you paid for it?
best regards,
Nick"

Me:
"No.  I didn’t follow through and install it at that time.  And I can’t find any communications that would indicate where/how to download it."

Nick:
"sorry, but ...why you did not contact us until now?
Nick"

Me:
"Yes. But I don’t understand how that is an issue. The receipt indicates a "LIFETIME FSC Activation Code is included in the price” and does not indicate there is any expiration date on the purchase."

Nick:
"yes....what? I asked you why you did not contact us until now??!!
this looks normal to you?? because is not.
Lifetime activation it does not mean lifetime map supply!!!"

Me:
"I’m not asking for a lifetime map supply - just the map upgrade I paid for.  Given that it was listed as the 2022 edition, how is that different than the 'North America PREMIUM 2021/22’ version that is currently listed on your website for my vehicle.

Also, I don’t appreciate the tone of your response.  This is not good customer service."

Nick:
"ok, I will not answer any question to you until you answer my first question.

I don't appreciate ignoring my question... either"

"Nick,

Your question was not pertinent.  WHY I did not contact you until now is not significant.  I purchase a product and expect to have access to it.  Nonetheless, he simple answer is that I did not get around to it until I was reminded by your solicitation email that a 2023 version might be available.  When I say that the version for my vehicle was still 2022, it went back and realized I had already purchase it but had not installed it.

Your total lack of appreciation of customer service is unbelievable."

I was trying to be polite - but it was easy given the total disregard for customer service the 'Nick' has!

I purchased 2022-1 maps for our 2017 X5 from BimmerMap.com, downloaded the maps and activation code files and attempted to install them. Not only was the installation unsuccessful, my vehicle lost its entire navigation system and satellite radio. When I contacted “Nick”, he was barely willing to give me the time of day after he had my money. I ended up having to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealership, where they found that the vehicle’s head unit had failed due to my attempt at installing the map software from BimmerMap.com. It took them over 2 days to get the head unit reset, faults cleared, the satellite radio to work, and to install the new maps. Needless to say, I did NOT save money by downloading maps from BimmerMap.com. To the contrary, I lost that money AND had to pay BMW over 3 times the amount to get them to fix what had gotten corrupted.

I asked “Nick” for a refund ... twice, with no response, even though the website says “100% Satisfaction Guarantee”. Yes, HIS satisfaction, not yours or mine!

When I try to access the site now, I get a 403 Forbidden error. I think he may be trying to cover his tracks. A whois lookup shows bogus registration information. All signs for the buyer to BEWARE!

They don’t send you software for the map updates after you pay for them. Also I requested a refund back and the guy by the name of Nick refuse to do so. I called my credit card company regarding the dispute and Nick emailed me and stated he hopes I die in a car accident. I have proof of this by email.

Update was easy to do with detailed instructions. Update my F11's (Europe PREMIUM ) maps from 2015_2 to 2020_2 with ease!
Included was email that asked to confirm that update was successfull.
I recommend this service.

Bimmermap took my money sent me a huge file and then stopped all communication without sending the unlock code. My bank agreed and sent my money back.

Don't do business with these thieves!
