If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at this apartment has been an absolute nightmare from day one. First of all, management is completely unreachable—they never respond to phone calls or emails no matter how serious the issue. You’re on your own here, and that’s just the beginning of the disaster.
The apartment is filthy, and it stays that way. The bathrooms are especially disgusting, rarely cleaned, and clearly not maintained. People constantly throw cigarette butts all over the porch and in the planters, creating a disgusting, trashy environment.
I’ve even had issues with tenants trying to get into my car while I was sitting in it—completely unsafe and unacceptable. On top of that, the app for the property is never updated, leaving you guessing about everything from maintenance to trash schedules.
Speaking of the property: it’s literally falling apart. Door handles have come off in my hand, once locking me inside a room for over 30 minutes. Mold is growing on the window sills and ceilings, which is a serious health hazard. I’ve had things stolen multiple times, and security is clearly nonexistent.
The trash situation is disgusting—pickup is inconsistent at best. After a week, trash piles up so much it has to sit inside the apartment or on the porch for two weeks or more, rotting and attracting bugs.
As if that’s not enough, I’ve come home from work on more than one occasion to find a gentleman leaving the toilet unflushed and used in the most disrespectful way—and yes, there was feces in the shower. That is beyond unhygienic and utterly revolting.
This place is a biohazard, a safety risk, and a total scam. Do not rent here unless you enjoy filth, being ignored, and having your basic safety and dignity constantly compromised.
Do not rent with this company!
Do not rent with this company. They are unethical. I just had a roommate move in who attempted to kick my emotional support animal and they refuse to do anything about the situation and actually had the nerve to suggest I move when I have been in the home for 6 years and the roommate moved in 2 weeks ago and is making another female tenant uncomfortable as well. The negligence they have shown is wild.
I was not able to get the keys to my…
I was not able to get the keys to my room, and a member of the move-in team (Ivy) had to call a tenant to let me in. She told me to submit a complaint on the website so someone could assist me, which I did. However, since yesterday, no one has responded to my message.
I also did not receive a tour of the rooms. Every time I asked, I was told it wasn't possible because people were currently living there. After signing the lease agreement and moving into the house, I discovered that the room assigned to me is extremely small—far smaller than I was led to expect.
The responsiveness could be better…
The responsiveness could be better across folks. All of my questions have not yet been answer.
I applied with Bungalow to rent a room…
I applied with Bungalow to rent a room in a shared house. I have not yet moved in, but I have my lease and have paid all my fees.
What I can tell you about the application process is that the website is a little bit easier to navigate than many others. Also, once I was signed up with the Resident portal, it had an option from directly within the website to sign up with Appfolio insurance for the required renters insurance.
At first, I was quite nervous because it was my first time moving to a place where there would be 5 people I didn't know. But David Arcel explained that these are people who have already had their credit and background checked to ensure that they don't have a criminal history.
Perhaps in a year, I will be able to share more about how my experience has been. However, I would just like to say that renting a shared house may be an option for those who are single and have no children or pets. People who have a family will probably need to have their own house or apartment.
One key thing that meant a lot to me on the application was the presence of a Non-Binary option for the gender drop down menu. It is a small thing, but I appreciate it as a Transgender person who feels like it is dishonest to describe myself as only male or female. Having this as an option is a very positive thing. Thanks Bungalow!
They always kept contact with me in all…
They always kept contact with me in all steps of the process which made it easy
Atrocious Customer Service, complete garbage
David Arcel completely lacks any customer service skills. You can simply replace him with an automated payment reminder call. Asked multiple questions and his response time was poor and inadequate. I requested to view the property and was denied. I raised an issue with the roommates after I signed my lease and still has not provided a response after 10 days. Has provided constant reminders to pay, pay, pay. Clearly is only concerned with financial transactions and not customers.
Terrible experience with Bungalow living
This is my worst experience ever renting a place in my life. They have individuals working under them who are absolute thieves, and who try to exploit people for their own gain. Their service charges are baseless and they fraudulently increase the utility fees, including the water consumption with no clarification on their end. Then, when you move out, without following up with you or without your knowledge they send your charges to the collections department. This is totally ridiculous. Will not refer them to any other person. They want you to be their Sugar daddy.
Guys think twice : Bungalow and Homeroom’s Troubling Practices
One of my friends, Saurabh Tipre, has faced significant challenges with Bungalow. He initially signed a lease with Homeroom, which was later acquired by Bungalow. During his time with Homeroom, he experienced numerous issues, including alleged fraudulent practices such as inflated utility costs and unjustified charges. Additionally, the property manager, Sandra Gomez Alvarez, and the Head of Customer Service, Pedro Coss y Leon Mares, reportedly failed to honor their commitments and disregarded the lease terms.
Following Bungalow’s acquisition of Homeroom, Saurabh encountered further issues during his move-out process, including excessive billing. Such practices are unacceptable, and prospective tenants are advised to carefully evaluate their options before committing. Alternatively, Common is an excellent co-living option that comes highly recommended.
I got SCAMMED by this Evil Inc
SCAM. This company is pure EVIL. You wake up and see a 20% rent increase. They also charge 200$ monthly fee that is not mentioned in ads and they bill for utilities 4 times more then the actual cost, they add 80% margin to the original utility bills and charge you 40-60$ “overage fee” for with same 80% margin on top for almost every month. Maintenance requires are ignored for WEEKS, no matter how critical they are, WORST experience ever. Sales from India and other cheap countries VERY PUSHY, will try to scam you into signing the lease. In the lease you give away all your freedom, they can increase the rent, fees, utilities anytime they want, effective immediately and can impose additional fees. Basically they charge 85-90% of the cost of studio apartments for a tiny kid room in small house packed with 6 roommates. What a SCAM. There was a class action lawsuit from tenants and homeowners, they scamming everybody. STAY AWAY, 10-15% savings compared to studio ARE NOT WORTH IT, the experience is a nightmare.
Unprofessional service and unjust charges
My friend, Saurabh Tipre, faced a distressing ordeal during his move-out process. He was charged an exorbitant amount and his security deposit was never refunded. Furthermore, the customer support representative, Mario E., has been treating him poorly and refuses to acknowledge their errors.
The worst property management company I…
The worst property management company I have ever seen. They have no direct line of communication and will ignore and gaslight everyone, especially after they overcharge you. They charge frivolous service fees that are inconsistent even within households. Their platform is only available on iPhone (because Google Play says their security is sub-par). And they just evicted our house-including someone who just moved in last month-so they could renovate and 2.5x the rent. RUN if you see them on a listing. (They also broke city code by putting 7 people in a house listed as a single-family residence.)
Disgusting Place
What a hack of place you call bungalow. I have not seen any disgusting place then that which you call place to live. Very unhealthy and unhygienic place to live. Bathrooms are dirty, carpet is full of stains and dirty, doors are dirty and refrigerator is full of fingerprints…most disgusting place to be called bungalow.
Review
The quick turnaround was great. I still think I should get 3-4 days to make decisions because 48 hours is too rushed to make such big decisions.
Utterly dissatisfied. Bungalow living is duping me
I rented a single room in a shared apartment in Fort Worth, Texas. During my stay, I encountered fraudulent billing practices involving the water bill, which was under the name of Bells Locations LLC. The bill for one month amounted to an unusually high $373 for four occupants. I have evidence supporting this discrepancy. Despite reaching out to the management team for resolution, they refused to address the issue, prompting me to report the matter.
Following my report, the management retaliated by initiating eviction proceedings without providing the legally required 30-day notice. After vacating the property, I just discovered that my account had been sent to collections without prior notification of any outstanding balance. This behavior is both unethical and a breach of their lease agreement. Their actions demonstrate a lack of professionalism and fairness. They are duping innocent people. Also, they have not returned my security deposit.
Nice Lease
Dave has professional knowledge. Answer questions Nice and clear, polite and friendly. We took short time to process the contents.
Pushy and rushed
1. The timeframe for talking to current tenants was too short as the 48 hr time limits, especially during the working week.
2. The salesmen who were calling about the property were pushy, repeatedly calling me multiple times a day, and made the who experience feel rushed. Especially during the working day.
3. No tour was offered
I am a homeowner who leased my property…
I am a homeowner who leased my property to Bungalow. What a nightmare. AVOID this company at all cost, if you are a tenant or a homeowner. I could go on forever about it.
Please note: former tenants and homeowners are trying to file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Bungalow. Go on Red dit and do a search in landlords, tenant and property owner groups, and you will find the people involved if you want to get involved too. This company is doomed.
The positive reviews on trustpilot are laughable. Hasn't anyone noticed how they come in small bunches all around the same date? They are obviously fake.
I felt a little hounded with the phone…
I felt a little hounded with the phone calls when I was literally in the middle of what they were calling about
