Camper UK damaged my vehicle and then went into complete denial.
I have been a loyal customer with Camper UK since purchasing a new vehicle from them in 2017. I have spent many thousands of pounds with them having HAB/damp checks, servicing etc. in the intervening years.
However, I noticed over the last couple of years that Camper UK appeared to be churning staff on an extremely regular basis and that the standard of workmanship had been in decline since the departure of Alan Pickering the erstwhile partner and co-founder of the company.
In April 2023 took the vehicle to them to have a noisy swivel seat repaired. Repair not satisfactory, so had to return in 2024. Vehicle handed back to us at end of day by 2 members of staff, one being an apprentice sat in the said chair. To our utter horror some trim had been damaged due to said seat being rammed rearwards to its absolute extremity.
After sales manager then inspected. Virtually ignored us whilst doing so, and basically insinuated that we had inflicted the damage over a number of years and were trying to take a lend of the company. An already fraught situation was massively inflamed by the managers confrontational attitude. I ended up in tears and my husband extremely agitated as a result. A stand-up argument between my husband and the said manager then ensued.
Thereafter, an exchange of emails with current MD resulted. MD of course backed his staff at the expense of a lost customer, as he is obviously so fearful of losing more staff, not that he should necessarily be employing managers with such appalling customer skills.
Within the exchange of emails the MD had the audacity to state that over the years we had been in receipt of multiple goodwill gestures from them. When asked to name even one, he failed miserably. In fact, due to the raft of mostly warranty related issues we had with this vehicle, including new upholstery in Germany, along with the wrong satellite dish fitted by Camper UK followed by an incorrectly fitted replacement by them, we are massively out of pocket with all the travelling to and from their premises, days wasted etc. We actually spent so much time there in our early days of ownership, we almost felt semi resident. If complimentary coffees count as goodwill gestures then yes, we had our fair share, but believe me we got nothing else.
This vehicle has been cherished from new, and in fact quite a considerable sum had just been spent on it having it fully ceramic coated and the alloy wheels totally refurbished.
Had we as owners inflicted this damage we would have been the first people to put our hands up and pay for any repair. Given that the damage itself was not that significant and is probably quite easily rectified, it was the attitude of the after sales manager that was so unpalatable and which turned a relatively benign situation so ugly.

Our first visit to the Camper UK camp site and their special Birthday Celebration Weekend.We thought the whole long weekend was terrific. And What a lovely camp site.
Everyone worked so hard right from the site, marquee, transfer buses to the showroom. All of it so professional managed .
Very impressed!
And hopefully rewarded with some excellent fund raising for Air Ambulance through extremely good value food & bar pricing, auctions , raffles, etc
Entertainment was brill first-rate , marquee nicely decorated and warm. Hog roast was amazing and well arranged for so many people .What more could you ask for.
The Motorhome Sales and Service Centre was equally impressive and professional in all aspects
We would definitely recommend the Company and hope to come again.

Entertainment, first rate, each evening
Curtesy busses, excellent
Staff, friendly, polite and obliging.

Thanks to Jack and Connor for sorting out some warranty items on our Carthago, kept us informed on parts delivery and made sure all parts were at Camper UK on the planned day so we didn’t have to have 2 visits

What can I Say-
The service we received at Camper UK was second to none.
Our MH was fixed, we were well looked after.
We will return for our MOT, service etc.

I took my Carthago Motorhome into Camper UK for a new cam belt & water pump. After spending all my working life in the motor trade as a mechanic then a service and after sales manager with Volvo, Toyota & Honda this was the first time I have experience of handling a vehicle over for service or repairs. After booking the vehicle in 3 months ago I was very impressed with the confirmation phone call a week earlier to confirm the booking. On arrival Chloe booked me in explained everything and had found 3 recalls from Fiat which they would also carry out. When I picked up the vehicle at the end of the day Chloe explained what had been done and took payment which was exactly what was quoted when I made the booking 3 months ago. Great friendly professional service. When I buy my next Carthago I will have no hesitation purchasing from yourselves.

We had some work done recently to cure a damp problem on our Burstner motorhome and the whole process was handled very smoothly from start to finish.
From Jack the Service Manager to his expert team in the workshop, we were treated well and kept informed throughout.
We have used Camper UK for some years now and it is always worth the long journey to them so that the service or repairs are carried out properly.
