Great organisation, friendly service and food and a wonderfull setting, just like the old movies on the Orient Express. Allready planning our next visit.

The station master was extremely helpful, we were running late because of diversions and he kept train from leaving for 5 minutes.Thank you so much.

We joined the train for the breakfast train and had a good trip out. The staff were friendly and the food was yummy.
The only two small niggles we had were that the staff member taking drinks orders on the train didn't know what tea options there were (the menu states speciality teas are available and my wife was interested), and when in the tea room at Froghall, I wanted to buy a scone but was unable to do so without having it as a cream tea which I did not want as I don't drink tea.
Otherwise, we had an enjoyable trip out!

Great afternoon out on the Sunday lunch train celebrating my mum's 80th Birthday. Food was great, ambiance was great..would recommend 👌

A lovely experience. Loved the carriage Diana and it's staff. The fried eggs were a disappointment tho.

My husband celebrated his 70th Birthday last September, Due to illness he couldnt go abroad so our children brought him the experiece. The staff were lovely especilly the young people serving the food, even helping to take photos as a momento of the day.

The biggest downfall of this experience was the seating. I had been expecting a lovely, personal experience and meal with my husband, but finding out we were then sat on a table of four with another couple was very disappointing. Not only that, myself and my husband were sat side-by-side, meaning I spent the journey looking at a complete stranger opposite me! This also comes with logistical issues: there was a large bottle of water on the table, leaving questions: who ordered this, was it to share for the four of us, do you then pour for the whole table or try and portion it between each couple?! It was all very awkward. And there was actually a table for two left empty in our coach! There was also an issue with our drinks order - my husband ordered a bottle of cider, which was placed in front of him with the bottle top still in place. When asked for a bottle opener, he was simply told, "I haven't got one". The waiter then left, continuing to serve all the other tables with no intention whatsoever of returning to us. After 15 minutes of waiting, we had to find another member of staff to come and open the bottle. Little things, but really falling down when wanting to enjoy the experience - and bearing in mind it had been a 30 degree day and the carriage was incredibly hot, drinks were essential! The food overall was very good, however, the aubergine was undercooked and very chewy. It didn't spoil the meal, as on the whole it was very tasty, but as a vegetarian with only one option for a main meal, you expect the centrepiece to be the star of the show. The whole experience also lacked communication. It is crying out for a compere of some sort to keep guests informed of what is going on; people were left very much in a state of confusion as to what to do at times. A nice train journey with beautiful views, but not an experience I would rush back to, unfortunately.

We opted for the coffee and cake trip on the train. Checked in with friendly staff and went to the station cafe to collect our cakes and drinks before boarding the train. Lovely trip to Ipstones and back.

All the staff were so helpful, looking forward to our next trip!

I bought this experience for my mum and dad and they absolutely loved every minute of it! Food and drink was spot on and the train itself was lovely. Well worth the money.

You wouldn’t know that this service is run by volunteers! Very professional, we had a lovely morning on the Breakfast Train. Beautiful carriage, nice food, some great views and of course a whiff of nostalgia.

From start to finish the whole experience was first class. From the butty and brew , comfort in the carriage and service by staff it was amazing. Will definitely be doing it again.

Staff were very helpful. Meal service was very good on an extremely hot day! It would be good to have a couple of benches on the platform near the dining cars as we had to wait some time to board and having a couple of elderly people not easy for them standing in the heat. But overall enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for making my parents experience top class. They had the best time from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this experience.
