Terrible company, never had a good experience. They receive packages, they sit in the warehouse and do not attempt to deliver at all, if you inquire they just change the date for delivery. Ended up showing up to pick up my package after it not moving for over a week and the box had clearly been opened. Definitely something dodgy going on here.
The delivery update was a bit slow, however the customer service team were very helpful. They took my parcel to a collecting point in a walking distance which is also very nice and convenient.
I would give zero stars if I could. Ebay USA who rip international buys off with shipping and give you no choice which carrier sends things to Australia. DAI are absolutely hopeless. The correct address was on my parcel and yet they could not deliver it. It went to this appalling, disorganised tobacconist in Concord. When I went to pick it up the person there couldn’t find my parcel as it was such a mess in there. I had to pay for parking. I had to go and get it myself when I paid for it to be delivered to my address. DAI were supposed to have it re-delivered to my address, but they did not. They did not communicate with me at all. I give them -100. Absolutely appalling. Ebay USA is just as appalling.
Here's my experience of two recent DAI deliveries of my eBay purchases:
A parcel sent from Germany arrived in 2 weeks, delivered by Australia Post. 5 stars.
A parcel sent from USA was notified as delivered after 4 weeks but it wasn't received by me.
After checking with a couple of local delivery firms I was given a phone number for DAI.
Customer service rep Rowena was very helpful and efficient, but said it had been delivered. So, as eBay have a Money Back Guarantee for buyers I lodged a claim. This was rejected as they also said my parcel was delivered.
Then I had an email from Rowena with a picture of my delivery - that was clearly not at my address. After sending pics of my entrance and the other delivery's entrance eBay then refunded my money.
So 1 star to DAI and 5 stars to Rowena. I hope DAI will deliver locally by Australia Post from now on.
Thanks Sean and all the delivery team including the driver for a prompt delivery.
Called about a change of address for a delivery on the day they received it, told the request would be put through, still ended up at the wrong address, currently unable to fulfil such requests even if they say they can
DAI post courier service is 100% SCAM COMPANY, this company STEALS PARCELS, my parcel from the USA was not delivered, l received a message from DAI courier tried to deliver my parcel but could not leave it as it was not safe to do so, DAI couriers deliver outside of normal day hours.....apparently in the middle of the night is normal for DAI couriers and then to say no one was home so as to steal the parcel. DAI most likely employs people with criminal records or illegals in Australia. I was CONTINUESLY given the run around by DAI as to why my parcel was not delivered. DAI phone number 85861200 is also manned by stupid robotic people that most likely are unemployable elsewhere. To all overseas companies who pair up with DAI to finalise their final Australian leg of parcel deliveries should cut all ties with DAI and spare overseas sellers a lot of pain when buyers like myself demand refunds for parcel being not delivered, STOLEN BY DAI. In Australia DAI has a very shocking reputation for NON DELIVERY. I'm seriously thinking of reporting DAI to the ACCC. as to the way this company operates here in Australia.
My notifications came in a good manner, I got excited. But then all of a sudden, although we were home, the notification "delivered" came. But no parcel. This was an expensive delivery all the way from across the oceans. Very disappointing.
Absolutely appalling experience with DAI—not once, but twice.
In June, my supplier sent me a parcel with the correct address details clearly displayed, yet DAI returned it to the sender for no apparent reason.
I reordered the same item, and unfortunately my supplier used DAI again. The parcel was shipped at the beginning of July. Mid-July, DAI contacted me to query the address. I responded the very same day, clarifying the business name, but after that the parcel seemed to disappear.
I called DAI four separate times. Each time I was told the matter had been escalated, yet no one could provide an estimated delivery date or any meaningful update on where my parcel was.
After more than a month in transit, the parcel finally arrived on 6 August—only after I threatened to lodge a complaint with the ACCC.
Their tagline is “Every parcel matters.” Based on my experience, that simply isn’t true. Poor communication, no accountability, and unacceptable delays. I would avoid this carrier at all costs.
This is the worst courier I ever experienced. Do not transact to this courier if you do not like a headache. Poor communication. Even give them the instruction where to deliver my parcel.
DAI Post is 100% a scam company and a money laundering front for illegal activity. They stole one parcel from me 2 months ago and are in the process of stealing a second parcel now. They cannot even describe where their "pick up" locations are. Avoid international deliveries facilitated by DHL (e.g. eBay from the US) as they use DAI for last-mile. DAI WILL screw you around, I guarantee it.
Lerry Barcoma from DAI post followed the parcel through customs and keep me informed about progress and was an useful experience to be through with Customs information.
Dai Post courier service is poor.
Both at our previous address and our current one the couriers don’t even bother to ring the doorbell. On more than one occasion I was home all day and my parcel was dropped off at a location in another suburb. Judging by the reviews their poor service is normal,
Incredibly unhelpful, and super slow to reply. When i was trying to get a parcel redirected, they took weeks to reply, and when they finally did, nothing was resolved. I’m not even able to get a refund on my package as it is now not considered ‘undelivered’. I’m incredibly disappointed as this package meant a lot to me, and cost me a fair amount to buy and mail. Never use this company.
Shocking business. I don't know how they haven't been shut down already. Reading the other reviews here is mind-blowing - it's hard to believe a company can still be functioning when their service is this appallingly terrible.
I purchased hundreds of dollars' worth of vintage items on eBay. They were shipped from the USA to Sydney, and unfortunately eBay International automatically uses DAI as their courier - I had no say in that.
I got an email at 9:30pm one night saying 3 parcels had been delivered and left "in a place out of view." They had not. I called and called, and eventually got sent photos of where they'd been left — they were fully in view, not hidden at all. I had to go out searching for them myself and, after 40 minutes, luckily found them. I was very lucky the homeowners weren't home at the time. The parcels had been sitting there for 3 days, because they arrived on a Friday and DAI is closed on weekends. I asked to escalate the case and was refused.
Then, a week later, the final parcel I had coming went through the exact same thing - except this time it was forced through my tiny letter box. Hundreds of dollars' worth of goods. I've yet to see if it's ok.
It is really poor for a delivery service. And as much as some of the customer service members are helpful the process of getting in touch takes long. Calls get disconnected, no-one answers...
I will have to stop ordering from usa now because the stress of getting my parcels is too much.
Avoid this courier at all costs.
Appalling service and cannot work to their self-set timelines.
*Original review with updates to follow:
An item purchased online was shipped very quickly by the provider, using DAI Post. I was able to track the order which arrived and passed customs on the 12th July. I allowed 8 days to pass without a change in location, prior to reaching out to them. They stated they would escalate and investigate, with a reply "within 1 business day" - I waited 3 business days to follow up via email (still no reply as I type this review, 28th July), I leave it another business day to call (20+min on the phone) with the representative stating that "the product is damaged, that's why it hasn't shipped" (when were they going to notify me?). I asked for a photo to provide the supplier, I was advised I would receive a photo on Monday morning, however, here I am after another call chasing up the photo (without result) on Tuesday afternoon. They're just giving me the run around now and I have now contacted the NSW Office of Fair Trading.
The worst end mile carrier/courier one can ask for. Where do i begin?
- several weeks delay (till now still have not received my mail, supposedly stuck at customs, edit: finally received it after 2 + wks in customs and 1 week after paying crazy clearance fees)
- extremely slow customer response (no response with ticket sent, unless it is straightforward open and shut case)
- extremely slow phone support (may take up to 10-15 minutes before you can get someone to connect)
- extorting crazy high clearance fees (higher than fedex/dhl by a far mile, its not even close), not even sure why is this collectable when courier companies are paid to send stuffs… so they earn profit through extorting these fees from customers.
- bad phone support (support changes players every single time you call, and repeats the same non-chalant answer over and over, which i believe is supported by a call center
- Hired / used by EBAY (which is very unfortunate as this affects EBAY as a company whole) , u have a lottery choice of which end mile carrier u get and u better pray u dont get them.
- they absolutely do not care whether or not you get the mail on time, unless you call in to chase them for an update over and over again
i would give negative stars if i could, because they are not even worth half a star, and its 0 stars for actually doing their job.
Due to customs and tax payment, the parcel was delayed for more than 2 weeks. Once we settled payment, process was slow as well.
Their customer office Lerry Barcoma was very good but very much limited by the company/s awful backend process from finance to order release.
My suggestion to the management is to review their backend process and make it more efficient to front-end clilents. Else even the best customer officer can only do so much to assist client's anxiety.
I feel I am VERY lucky after today's experience with DAI.
My past delivery experiences with DAI always seem to be coloured by delivery people, who don't seem to care if people actually receive their parcels.
They have either left the packages in unsafe places, & not attempted delivery, or pretended to attempt delivery, & simply dumped it at a local hub.
Now, I've read a few things about DAI sub-contracting, & whilst this means of service exists in multiple facets of life (Uber, Air BnB, etc), unless you are in charge of your own quality control, & you care about quality service, then going this way can sometimes backfire.
The package had another company for the final leg of the journey
I had a package coming from overseas, & this had actually travelled pretty smoothly, based on tracking information.
This morning DAI sent an update that the package was on the road, & to be ready! The excitement was starting to reach fever pitch! (According to them!) Of course, I was happy that it would be coming.
Well, I'm very glad I was ready, as I may never have received this package.
I am currently at home after a foot surgery, & I would normally get my parcels sent to my work, as my living area can be very hit & miss, due to occasional thefts. Being at home, & with another person in the home, you'd think there is a good chance of things being OK.
Aus Post successfully delivered some other packages this morning, so I knew my intercom was working.
Fast forward to a little while later, & with aforementioned excitement building (Copyright:DAI) I heard a notification bleep on my phone.
I was in the midst of something, & was going to ignore it (No, no! Not that something - I wish!), when a 'hmm..' feeling, inspired me to check what it was.
Lo & behold, the message received found DAI giving themselves a big pat on the back for successfully delivering my package. Aaalrighty then!
However, to quote Rocky - as he fought Tommy Gunn in the streets of Philly, & a received an initial pummeling, pulled himself up from the floor, & drawled; "I didn't hear no bell!"
So, pulling myself up from the floor, & onto my knee scooter (Oh the glory, & the triumph!), I embarked on the hunt for the parcel.
Possibility 1: The building security door had been open, & the parcel put at my door? Nope
Possibility 2: The parcel just inside the security door? Nope again
Possibility 3: The parcel outside the security door? Nope thrice
Possibility 4: Left in my post slot? (Which is streetside, & has been jimmied open, previously) & NO, yet again, & with worry starting to set in, even though it hasn't been that long since the parcel was "delivered", I scoot back up to the building, as fast as my one usable leg would push me, & to the second security door, further down the building, & NO, yet again! DAGNABBIT!! (To put it mildly)
After performing a 60 point turn on a narrow path, with a drop flowerbed on one side it (of which I have spectacularly fallen into, whilst riding the knee scooter, on a previous occasion. D'oh!), I scoot back towards the street, hoping that maybe, just maybe, the so-called "delivery person", might still be delivering nearby.
About to descend the ramp to the street, when my eye catches 2 flashes of white. I bring my rusty 'steed' to a halt, & two packages are on the edge of the path, propped against some overhanging plants from the flowerbed.
One is mine, & the other, for a neighbour
The security door for my part of the building, is less than 10 metres, another 10, & you are at the second security door, which is the entry for my neighbour.
I do a good deed by actually attempting a genuine delivery. My neighbour is home, & grateful to see her parcel safe, & is also stunned at the sheer laziness/ ineptitude of the "delivery person".
Now, my parcel did have an 'authority to leave' instruction on it - NOT from me, but the sender. However, I have always felt that this would be an acceptable instruction, if a GENUINE delivery attempt had been made.
In my head, a genuine delivery attempt would consist of:
A- Going to the address in question.
B- Walking to the entry/door/lobby
C- Ringing the bell/intercom of the recipient.
D- If no answer is forthcoming, THEN activate the instruction to leave, & only THEN, in a safe place.
So, with only Stage A being completed from the points above, a genuine delivery attempt it is not.
Seriously, 10 more metres to me, followed by 10 more to my neighbour.
How lazy, or just plain indifferent can the delivery driver be?
I had laborious exchanges with the DAI customer service previously, & given those, I'm reviewing them instead. I give people a chance but with prior issues, topped with the new one, I would be remiss not to.
Sorry for the long ramble, my painkillers kicked in, after I started this review.
DAI, you got lucky this time, but save yourself a heap of dung, & get some quality control!
I was importing a small order of dvd movies from a major retailer in the US. The parcel has been stuck at DAIpost for the past 16 days with no sign of release. They claimed the value saw over AUD1000 but failed to provide any evidence when asked. I sent receipts and bank statements as requested for the AUD400 purchase but they won't release. They send an email every couple of days asking for the same information each time. They just seem really bad at what they do.
