David Salisbury Avis 

The Orangery designed, supplied and installed by David Salisbury is an outstanding product. We carried out plenty of due diligence, including a visit to the factory to see the manufacturing process prior to signing up. I have also waited a few months prior to this review to make sure there were no snagging issues but I needn't have worried. The people we dealt with at DS, the standard of installation and the quality feel of the product is outstanding. Even now the addition to our home gives my wife and I a thrill. We have had people walking past the house call on us to ask where we sourced the build. Even the building control sign off team from the council (we are in a conservation area) remarked on it. The scale, weight and quality of the materials would not look out of place in the building of a cruise liner. Utterly fabulous.

David Salisbury designed, manufactured and fitted our Oak garden room in 2023.
We got three quotes and after visiting the joinery we went with David Salisbury, they ticked all the boxes.

Having recently completed the installation of a David Salisbury orangery, we can safely say it has totally changed our home for the better. We now have a beautiful living space that we feel proud to show off to friends and family. The whole process was completed with minimum fuss and we enjoyed being involved in the design process, choosing some of the finishing touches. The installation team were a pleasure to have on site, working tirelessly, sometimes in pretty poor weather – what dedication! We certainly did a fair bit of research before hand but couldn't be happier with our decision to choose David Salisbury and would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for an orangery extension.

First class service and great product. The glass extension has completely transformed a once tired, cold living room into a warm, cosy and bright place to be. The initial design was almost perfect but a couple of suggested improvements along the way made this product something to be truly proud of. David Salisbury's was an easy and open company to deal with, I'd recommend to all!

Rudy came round to quote for new windows and a small extension earlier this week. He was very helpful, gave lots of detail and was very professional.
We have been so delighted with our Orangery that was built about 14/15 years ago, that we would like to use David Salisbury again for our next project. We have had no issues with it and it still looks new ( we have repainted the sills and windows but the roof part does not need maintenance) would definitely recommend!

Bought unit in 2022. Hard sell from salesman. Quality proven to be mediocre. Slow to get repairs done. Lots of administrators/estimators/planners who are poor at communicating between themselves.

I note the reply from DS. Contrary to the inference, DS are well aware of our complaints.

Update - pleased to hear that DS are focused on fixing the issues. To date every problem has taken months. In the 6 months since completion, this has included faulty roof glass, exploding glass door, poor seals, beading falling off etc etc etc ! We look forward to improved speed of rectification of inferior quality workmanship.

Davis Salisbury's fitted our first conservatory in 1999 excellent service and delighted with result. Sept8th 2022 scaffolding fell onto said building damaging it beyond repair due to roofers errors.
Contacted this firm who were incredible helpful original designers still with company Quote was accepted and the original builders still working with the company did a great job of rebuilding walls etc. D .the fitter and assistants made an excellent job of constructing our conservatory. work was due to finish about 3 week into July. Our site manager M.was made redundant (we were not informed ) and for a period of some 6 weeks no workers on site,final details were not finished.
When the protective sheeting was removed from the existing floor it became apparent that considerable amounts of salts had been drawn out to the tiles and the appearance appalling. M saw this damage before he left and said the company would sort it out and send 2 workers to try to remove to no avail . J in the office organised for a specialist company quote to treat floor. When I rung her she said the quote was around £400 which would be no problem.On further investigation this amount was for materials with labour approx £1,800 more ,so she said she would have to seek authorisation from a director which he then refused .I have asked to speak to him to see is we can resolve this matter ; no contact whatsoever yet.I have booked specialist company to undertake the cleaning to avoid delay in our ability to use this area.Legal opinion received

Design and end product fantastic. From initial on-site consultation to build completion, it took just over 12 months. Definite room for improvement on communications both at the planning stage and from our contracts manager during the build. Lack of contact frequently led to unnecessary stress and we had to do a lot of chasing for updates. The build team - mainly Jason & Alex - were absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t fault either - went above & beyond to make sure everything was as required.

All of the people involved worked as a team and worked well with our builders as the brick columns,window and door openings were constructed by our own builders.This was very important as the orangery was obviously manufactured at the factory and needed to fit.

We chose David Salisbury to design and build an Orangery, to maximise the full potential of a 19th century Cotswold Rectory. They created not just a very handsome and appropriate extension, but managed to obtain all the obligatory planning and Grade II Listed Building consents required due to its heritage and location in a conservation area and AONB. A huge bonus and no mean feat.

Every stage from concept to delivery was impressive. And all the communication throughout the project exemplary. The finished Orangery is classic and timeless in style, adding a bright capacious living space, highly flexible in use, that seamlessly connects the house to the surrounding terrace and gardens. Every one is thrilled with the result. And we thank and heartily recommend the whole David Salisbury team.

Really helpful and accessible team at all stages of building my conservatory, from design choices through to final inspection, and clear explanations of the process. The final product is beautifully constructed and looks fit to bring me joy throughout the year. I have only praise for a very professional job and high quality product, which met all my expectations from their achitect's original drawings.

We had an orangery extension on our kitchen in 2010, we were initially very pleased. After a few years we had a problem with a constant drip on the corners and joints in the centre of each panel, after a particularly wet period we then had a drip inside. We contacted David Salisbury because we had a 10 year guarantee and we were still within the 10 years. They sent two men to repair the lead but still it continued. They then sent two other men to look at the problem and they said they could do a temporary repair because it was too wet at the time and would come back at a later date when it was dry. They never returned and David Salisbury’s say that we are now out of the 10 year guarantee but the problem has never been resolved. They referred us to a contractor but said we would have to pay, the contractor never returned our calls and we getting nowhere with David Salisburys.

The orangery we ordered has just been finished and we are thrilled with it. We had previously tried to use another company and had planning issues, but David Salisbury handled the whole process from start to finish. Their communication is excellent and all the people we have come into contact with for design and build have been truly excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Our Orangery is now finished and we are delighted with the end result. It looks fabulous and we are receiving some wonderful feedback from our family, friends and neighbours. From the moment we saw the architects design we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. The whole process from start to finish was carried out with the utmost attention to detail from the building work and the actual orangery fitting. Particular credit must go to the David Salisbury fitters, Ian and Callum who worked the 2 weeks before Christmas in a bitterly cold minus 10 degrees keeping the project on time. They remained so cheerful and worked so hard, I was almost sad to see them go. A massive well done and thank you to everyone concerned.
