The tour through the Sounds was stellar. Dean and Crew were there for us at every moment. There was something for everyone to do twice a day and they were able to taylor the events so that everyone could participate.
Megan provided all the directions needed to smooth the sign up process and was an amazing cook, providing meals for every need. WOW!
This well polished voyage is highly recommended for almost any group and is a "trip of a lifetime"not to be missed.

This was a totally amazing trip.
Our two sons both proposed to their girlfriends on our trip in front of a glacier. Our crew of Dean, Meg, Hugh and Julia managed the events perfectly so each couple could experience their unique event. While we are on land, Meg (with Julia’s planning) decorated the lounge and their respective cabins laying on champagne, chocolates, a special desert and so much more.
We cannot thank them enough for such a trip.
Aside from the two engagements, the whole trip was spectacular including unique hikes, ice flow kayaking, bears, otters, salmon, sea lions, waterfalls, rainbows etc etc.
This was our 2nd trip on the Discovery and they gave us our 2nd trip of a lifetime which we will always treasure.

The entire crew on board the discovery was delightful and a wonderful and knowledgeable team. We enjoyed our time together.

My family had the time of their life. Kayaking, hiking, jumping off the roof of the boat in between wine hour and fabulous meals. No wifi, but plenty of board games. The group ranged from 14 to 77 and lots of ages in between.

It was a magical amazing experience. The breathtaking beauty of the environment and the ability to explore it so intimately was just incredible. Captain Dean’s knowledge and experience in guiding us in this beautiful location was exceptional as was Megs food …. so delicious. The boat size was perfect for comfort and exploring and the J&J crew were helpful and made all activities fun. It was the best adventure! Thank you!

We loved everything about our trip. The scenery was beautiful. We loved seeing otters, seals, bears, eagle, jumping salmon and especially the dolphins. The food was to-die-for - Meg made the most delicious meals. Our guides Tori and Gabby - made every hike educational on top of being an adventure. Dean shared so much information. Most importantly - we were traveling with family ranging in ages 14-77. Every one of us felt the adventure was tailored to us - and the special attention they gave our teen - from Meg in the kitchen, to Dean teaching her to drive the boat - to Tori and Gabby pointing out all the cool things on our hikes and kayaks - lead to a magical experience. We would could not recommend this adventure enough.

Attention to detail and being very nice people as well

This was truly a trip of a lifetime. We were very happy with Captain Dean’s skill and knowledge of Prince William Sound and Meg’s world-class cooking. The quality of the food was extraordinary and we were always looking forward to the next meal.

The boat is very comfortable, clean, an easy place to call home while we were aboard. The activities were well-selected. We had some rainy days but thanks to the quality rain gear provided, we were able to thoroughly enjoy every beautiful hike. This place is beautiful rain or shine. Kayaking at the base of the glacier was spectacular.

We want to thank Dean, Meg and the rest of the crew for this unforgettable trip.

The discovery is an excellent, unique way to explore the Prince William Sound! From cruising around to hiking/walking to kayaking, we were able to see the Sound from a variety of perspectives. Captain Dean has a ton of knowledge of and experience with the Sound and is always happy to share. Meg is a great cook. Captain Dean, Meg, and the crew were all very welcoming, well informed, and made the experience special. I would highly recommend!

Discovery is the only way to see and experience the treasure of Prince William Sound. Captains Dean and Megan are exceptional in sharing their vessel's comfort, safety, delicious food and environmental awareness. Their role is vital in informing guests of how vital it is to preserve the land, water and its creatures.

Wonderful experience! The crew's service was over the top! We experienced beautiful glaciers, saw lots of wildlife, hiked and kayaked. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend and would like to go again!

We had a fantastic time on Discovery Voyages. The captain is very knowledgable and made sure to take us to see local wildlife and excellent hiking opportunities even when the weather did not cooperate. Sea kayaking to a glacier was a highlight of our trip. The crew were excellent and all three meals each day were superb.

Late May 2024 we took our second trip on the Discovery and were thrilled again. This time it was spending more than an hour watching humpback whales “bubble feeding” and daily sightings of black bear grazing near the water. Prince William Sound was teeming with wild life on land and in the water. We kayaked and hiked most days despite cold and rain. In July 2016 the outstanding weather — meant less wildlife but more kayaking and hiking. Both trips inspired me to want to do it all over again. Going on the Discovery is like joining old friends in their home. Dean and Megan know the area well, answer questions, spot wildlife and seem as excited as the passengers. Dean’s knowledge of human, geological and natural history of the area is amazing. This trip featured the addition of crew member Hugh Rose whose knowledge of Alaska, whale migration and the impact of government policies on the region gave us a greater understanding of Alaska.
Megan is a gourmet cook who specializes in fresh local seafood dishes. Every meal was among the best I’ve ever had. They make a rustic trip with shared restrooms and tiny cabins feel like a luxury experience. If you’re looking for a five star hotel and spa this is not for you, but if you’re looking to be out in the wilds while being pampered this is your trip!

Excellent conversation, excellent views, excellent food. And the "little ship" was in magnificent condition. The captain and cook are so familiar with the territory, we felt we were in great hands from a safety perspective.

Only minor concern was during excursions, at least two crewmembers joined in: One was always in the lead (as expected) but the other didn't always stick close to the slowest participant. Delicate balance, since they didn't want the slowest to feel pressured, but that has to be balanced with safety. Perhaps "deputizing" one of the guests to patch this gap would be the right answer--pass an extra walkie talkie to the "deputy".

Voyage was beautiful and relaxing! Food was great and I loved that we had a choice on our activity level.

Super fun trip. Saw more sea lions, harbor seals, black-legged kittiwakes, sea otters, salmon, bears eating salmon, puffins, calving glaciers and stunning views (to name a few of the highlights) than ever before in my life, and I spend a lot of time in the wilds. The owners, Dean and Megan and their able and friendly guides are fountains of information on the local geology and wildlife. And they're nice people. I'd highly recommend this trip to any of my friends.

Great Crew!!, Great Boat!! Great Food!! Ease of schedule, magnificent views, wonderful wildlife. The very best experience in Alaska if not the entire North America.

The captain, and crew were very knowledgeable about the area in general and about the fauna and flora. The chef was amazing. It was fun to see the wonder of Alaska, and to meet fellow travelers on this great adventure.
