DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I only have one star because I couldn’t give 0. If this review stops one person wasting their money I will be happy. We initially chose this company as it seemed hassle free …. Pay the money and get the solar panels fitted

Oh how wrong were we…

Pay the deposit, for to be messed around with dates, they then came and put built in solar panels (20! So not a small system!) myself, my partner and my dad asked at the time if we needed a membrane… no they go straight only the wooden cladding (NO THEU DO NOT!) our roofer came back and finished slating around the panels.

Next day… the roof leaks, called the company… to be told over the phone that’s a roofing issue, nothing that we did… roofer came back out had a look and found no fault.

Next day, water now pouring in our brand new newbuild home, call and someone will call out ( the next day)

Person visits, nope not our fault! It’s the roofers

After hours on phone calls, several nasty emails and demands for payment they were still adamant that it was not their fault but sent an engineer as a “good will gesture” so he came and claimed there was an issue with the cables in the panels so changed the position and told us that’s it now

Again… rain and it pours in the roof

We decide to look up the manufactures installation instructions and what does it say in big bold letters…. NEEDS TO HAVE MEMBRANE UNDERNEATH DUE TO CONDENSATION

After this was sent to a complaints team…. No sorry was given…. No admission on their part…. Just a promise to fix it and they did after 5 months of hassle, hours on phone calls, nasty and threatening emails to fix it

I would definitely recommend eco energy for solar panels and battery installation.Professional from beginning to end.

They phone every single day for over 3 months. I have told them, respectfully, repeatedly, to stop calling and to take me off the list , they say they will. Today, they call AGAIN, again, I ask to be taken off the list, I'm told it will be done. 2hrs later a lady from the same company phones me, telling me about their services, angrily I tell them this is getting out of hand, 3 months of being phoned at least once or twice per day!! She gets upset, tells ME to stop being so angry, I explain the anger and why, she says "I won't be talked to like this" and hangs up.

THEN STOP PHONING ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. How many times do you need to be told? I have around 100 stored calls, this is now harassment and any more calls will be recorded like the rest and you will be taken to small claims court for harassment. I'm done,

Thorough, professional and with an eye for detail. Highly informative, explaining their work practices throughout the installation process. Follow up emails take you through setting up with your current provider or steps to transfer. Excellent team effort.

Installation of heat pump and rads was carried out in double quick time.
I am now living in temperatures of 30C , feel sick and can not sleep at night. I have front and back doors open all the time the room thermostats has no effect on the heat pump. Tried phoning for help but nothing so far. Solar fitters now with me say ," don’t understand heat pumps and thermostats ".

They were incredibly professional and efficient. I was impressed that they arrived earlier than expected, which was a great start to the appointment.
The communication throughout the process was excellent—they kept me informed every step of the way, making everything stress-free.
The team was extremely helpful and professional, addressing all my questions and completing the job to a high standard. To top it off, they were very tidy, leaving the work area spotless when they finished.

My only constructive feedback was that there was a bit of a gap in communication between the initial sales visit and then installation being booked in. Initially this was down to a wrong recorded telephone number and then delays with finance paperwork. Once these issues were smoothed out, everything else went really well - communication was excellent and I had a good understanding of how the installation day would go. Installation was smooth and my property was left very tidy. Would absolutely recommend Eco-energy for solar panels installation.

Had a cold call from a angry call handler today who began shouting at me when I informed them to please stop calling my (NHS) work phone .
Had already made the same request on multiple calls from same company.
Unprofessional, rude and ignorant.

Very efficient all works and paper work completed on time

I expressed interest in Eco Energy after seeing one of their Facebook ads. They called me immediately, and I learned that planning restrictions might apply in my area for solar panel installation. I asked for a month to check with the Council.
Despite this, I received calls almost daily. At first, I repeated my request for more time. Then I asked to be removed from their contact list. That didn’t happen until I had to be very firm with the nth adviser who called to “check in.” I warned them I’d report the issue to the Data Protection Authority if the calls didn’t stop.
That finally ended the calls from Eco Energy.
However, I’ve since been contacted by numerous other companies offering solar panels. This strongly suggests my phone number was shared or sold without my consent.
Terrible conduct. I never agreed to this and clearly stated I did not want further calls.

We have Had the Solar System now for a while and everything works perfectly
We would certainly recommend this Company for their expertise and good service

The installation was done in a timely and professional manner. The installer Abdul arrived in good time. He explained every step of what work he needed to carry out and did them decently. Respected our home and made sure to keep it in a good condition. I will surely recommend his work.
The app on the other hand needs improving.

Since my installation this company has been impossible to reach. Rheir app has stop lped working and no one will move a limb to help resolve it. This is a last resort cos they never helped me

First class from the first telephone call to completion very knowledgeable ensuring everything was working correctly before handover

It’s working as well as I expected. Company personnel where helpful setting up the app and tidied up after installation ( in most cases)

They kept in touch with you every step of the way, I just hate people not keeping in contact so this was a definite bonus

One of the prime reasons for having solar panels installed with battery storage is that we are in an area very prone to power cuts in the winter. We mentioned this to the salesman and at no point did he say that their system would not accommodate this.
Shortly after the installation was completed we had a power cut and guess what, the system shut down. After doing some research it turns out that the system would not work in a power cut.
We have tried to contact the Ecoenergy people we had spoken to during the installation but no-one will respond to us. We registered a formal complaint with them in accordance with the process outlined on their website but no-one even acknowledges our emails. We are now left with no option but to contact the ombudsman.
We probably should have known that things were not going to go well when the original installers showed up with just a google earth image of our house with solar panels imposed on it rather than the survey they should have had. Turns out that they could not fit the number of panels that they had intended to and that we had paid for. They left and said we’d have to re-book. Then the battery installer showed up with the wrong inverter and told us that they could not fit the batteries in our roof space after all, despite the salesman telling us it would be no problem, and asked if we could put them outside. As we have severe winters with temperatures as low as -20 the answer to that was a resounding “No”. We ended up with them under a work top in our utility room.
Within a couple of days of the installation we discovered that one of the connecting cables on the roof was loose and asked for it to be secured. Ecoenergy were still talking to us then because we hadn’t yet made our final payment. We were told someone would be in touch to fix it. Months later we are still waiting.

Eco Energy installed solar panels at my property earlier this year. The system works well, but their customer service has been extremely poor.

After taking ownership, I contacted them to set up the monitoring app and request installation details. Despite providing proof of ownership, I only received a reply after chasing several times. When they did respond, they repeatedly pushed a £150 engineer visit I never asked for, writing: “As you are the new owners of the property you would like to be able to see how the system is generating… The call out charge still applies.”

I made it clear I didn’t need an engineer—only monitoring access and documentation—but kept getting the same response. In the end, I had to contact the panel manufacturer directly, who quickly transferred the monitoring to my account.

Even after fixing the monitoring myself, Eco Energy still haven’t provided the installation information for my property. The installation may be competent, but the support has been unhelpful, repetitive, and focused on unnecessary charges. I would not recommend them.
