Great product, great price, outstanding service

This company makes sure they stay in contact with you through the entire process. If there are issues and you contact them, they respond immediately. I would highly recommend and plan on using them again in the future. I thank them all for their outstanding service and product.

Excellent Service

Spoke with Darrel Goodall via email. He helped me set up an entire wood stove package that fit my needs and situation. He was responding to my random questions at 1am. I really appreciate the service and I'll recommend this company and Darrell specifically to anyone in the market for wood stoves or similar stuff. Thanks guys! Really!

Two unexpected things I do not recall…

Two unexpected things I do not recall noticing when I was placing my order:
1) firepit border chipped and repair grout included.
2) Natural Gas line attachment on the outside of bowl cannot be hidden inside of unit. Trying to figure out a solution, not sure if we can use or keep the unit.

Update:
Customer service responded to my email.
Gas line provided has been replaced by a metal one.

Product received and as described

Product received and as described. Works well. The only thing is that I did not need the wall mount for the receiver. If I could have had the option to not purchase the wall mount components and save money that would have been ideal.

Excellent and responsive service

I contacted the Company for assistance with questions on a fire pit and was promptly contacted by Darrel Goodall. He was helpful, responsive snd accommodating-looking forward to receive and use the firpit in a new home at the beach!

Great experience!
We found an outdoor fire place at another website and they were not nearly as helpful answering questions as Firepit Surplus. Great customer service, and excellent product!

Bait and Switch on Delivery Times

I was super excited to get a wood-burning insert, but I feel completely misled by the sales team. I told the salesman I was flexible on models and just needed a decent unit that was in stock and guaranteed to arrive before year-end. They promised a 12/19 delivery, which has now pushed to 1/7. I held up my end of the deal by being flexible; they failed to hold up theirs. To make matters worse, they refused to offer any assistance when I called to complain.

There was no intention to mislead. Around the holidays, manufacturers we work with sometimes experience unexpected production or freight delays that push previously confirmed delivery dates. Since we rely on them for inventory and warehousing, these changes can unfortunately happen. I’m sorry this impacted your order.

Not what I thought

I called and spoke to a very nice person. He assured me I’d get my wood stove before Christmas. I had to buy one that was $300 more than the one I actually wanted, but he said they have many in stock so I’d get it on time.
Then it was delayed. Then it was delayed again. Then I was told (in writing) I’d get the shipping information on the 22nd. Then I was told it would be shipped on the 30th. Then again on the 22nd… ugh.
I have had to cancel and reschedule the construction for this 4 times.
My impression is they’re after the sale and the review. I still haven’t gotten the shipping information. Hopefully the stove comes in one piece.

Thank you for laying this out - I understand why this feels unacceptable. You were clear about your timing, you paid more for a model you were told was in stock, and you made decisions around construction based on the dates we provided. Having those dates shift repeatedly is incredibly disruptive, and I’m sorry you were put in that position.

I want to be very clear that there was no intent to push you into a higher-priced unit or to mislead you. The delivery timelines you were given were based on confirmations from the manufacturer at the time. Unfortunately, over the holidays those timelines changed multiple times due to freight and production delays, which is what caused the rolling dates you experienced. That said, I completely understand how, from your side, this feels like broken promises.

I’d like to personally review your order, the written communications you referenced, and the current shipping status so I can give you accurate information and determine next steps. Please send me your order number so I can investigate this properly.

I was pushing for a quick, last minute purchase on a Drolet HT 3000, and I called the office at fire pit surplus to see when the unit would arrive. I have an appointment booked for first week of January, and the unit would not be here till feb 7th. I spoke with Darrel Goodall, and he was able to convince me to switch to the drolet escape 2100, with the variable speed blower and get it to me the first week of January. 10 out of 10 recommend working with Darrell and will definitely be giving him a call back for all of my future stove installs. Thanks for getting me out of a pinch, Darrel.

Elementi Fire Pit

I would give the fire pit 4.8 stars as the condition was very good. I have use it once and loved it. The only thing I would say is I thought the ring diameter could be a little larger. My particular pit does not have a real large flame but I think that is because of the propane temperature was so low. The gas pressure is related to the ambiant temperature so winter you would expect a lower flame. It could also be my regulator and not the fire pit. No blame on the pit for that, just stating how I like it and why.

It was packaged very well from the manufacture. My delivery was the sore spot of the purchase. The tracking order said it would be delivered on a certain day. It was very misleading. It did not show up on the day it said. When I called they said it would be another few days. They claimed they needed to call me to set the delivery schedule. That is not what my tracking information said. I would call the company ahead of time and clarify your delivery time before you take time off work to wait for them all day.
My sales rep was Rayden. He was great to work with. Very helpful with all my questions.
