Habito was recommended to me through my bank, Monzo so I expected them to be good.

What I got was a chat window (no option to speak to anyone) and an agent who told me that no lender would work with me as I've been running my own business since oct 2024 and I'd need 2 years of accounts.

I followed up with a local independent broker who said that so long as I can prove income for the last year and a half through my accountant I'll have no problem.

It's clear that Habito are a volume only business and the slightest challenge to an application results in them having no interest in working with you.

To anyone reading this I'd ask around your friends for a recommendation for a local mortgage advisor who actually cares about people rather than this faceless mass market lazy excuse for a business.

My experience with Habito has been pretty bad, although the initial advisor who sourced our deal was fantastic, responsive and helpful. After the agreement was sent off I was handed over to a "Customer Success Expert" who did nothing but relay HSBC's messages and seemed to ignore every question. When I complained was handed over to a new responsive representative of Habito before being put back with the old one.

This was quite a messy and delayed process, which surprised me because the stage prior the mortgage agreement is very time sensitive! It occasionally took days for a response to get back to me. And as a first time buyer a have a lot of questions and have no shame in admitting that I need guidance.

If you have a straightforward case for putting together a mortgage, you're not a first time buyer or some edge case, then you'll probably be fine with Habito. But for me, next time I'll be going with a person who I can talk to face to face.

Scott and Jess especially made my experience so easy to understand especially as I find it so stressful. I was kept informed of progress constantly and any questions were answered immediately. I can't recommend this company enough. Brilliant service. Thank you.

My experience with Habito has been excellent from start to finish. I had a mortgage advisor beforehand who was slow to respond and unhelpful. I had the opposite experience with Habito: the platform is so slick and easy to use, the advisors respond quickly and, most importantly, explain what's happening in clear, easy to understand language. I cannot recommend using their services enough!

Ashton was very patiance and helpfuld through a chat session where he answere every single question I had, I end up 100% convinced thanks to Ashton quality of service.

I’ve had a really positive experience using Habito as a mortgage broker, and was assigned Sameer as my mortgage expert.
From start to finish, the process has been smooth, and communication has been regular and clear.
I have had my mortgage offer approved today and I am extremely happy.
Sameer has been very supportive and answered any questions I’ve had - clarifying things I wasn’t clear on.
Patricia then took over once the mortgage application was submitted, and again, communication has been regular and supportive.

Overall I am very pleased with the service I’ve received, and would highly recommend Habito to anyone wanting to use a mortgage broker.

Ashton made the entire experience as seamless as possible. He was very responsive and patient as I gathered my documentation, ensuring that everything was in place for an easy application. As a first time solo buyer it made everything so much easier!

Excellent service, and they found a mortgage for us when other mortgage advisors did not, and offered options and changes when necessary. Teddy was great, and others picked up on the case while he was on leave, and he completed it up on return. I did not have to repeat anything and appreciated things not slowing down due to annual leave.
