No show

I had an appointment booked, received numerous reminders only for the advisor not to turn up, especially as you are given a 3 hour slot which required me to take a days holiday. I called and was told the advisor would not make the appointment as their car broke down! I can understand the issue but not to have phoned is not acceptable. A lost sale for yourselves.

Extremely poor experience from start to finish

Extremely poor experience from start to finish.
Hillarys repeatedly mishandled my order, starting with failing to record my £1,200 deposit and quoting an incorrect outstanding balance. Communication was almost impossible to get through due to being kept on hold due to constant high call volumes, no manager call‑backs, and no written confirmation of corrections despite multiple long calls. The order itself contained errors, the installation date slipped from October to mid‑November, to install finally in late December due to their delays, and even the fitter arrived with just 15 minutes’ notice when I was still at work. After months of mistakes, delays, and zero accountability, I’m shocked at how badly this has been handled, I am now being chased up for an incorrect balance with a threatening letter which I am now having to respond to in writing to reclarify the correct details. Having spent thousands with Hillarys over the years, this experience has been unacceptable the level of inconvenience and poor service has put me off ordering again.

WHAT A RIP OFF

84 year old aunt ripped off with £500 a pair bedroom curtains 3 bedrooms total came to over £1600. Fitter put up wonky pole had to come back to put right curtains rubbish Customer service RUDE .NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND HILLARYS TO ANYBODY!!!!

I ordered curtains to be fitted in…

I ordered curtains to be fitted in November they booked to put up on the 3rd December.
They cost £1,256 when they were put up they had not done the rail size I asked.
Was nothing like I had asked for , when I complained to the fitter he said oh yes I remember you asking for the curtain rail to go further.
I will come back in January the curtains that he put up look terrible as don't fall properly.
He said I could always buy a stopper for the curtains to stop them moving.
I was so diaspointed I contacted Hillarys and asked for my money back as this was not what I had asked for.
They said they would not refund and someone will be in contact to fix the rails in January.
The curtains they have put up I could have bought for around £200.

Do not use this company


Do not use this company. They were very quick to provide a quote and take our £750 deposit. Before paying, we were given an installation date before Christmas, which we were happy with.

After payment, the surveyor visited again and told us the date had been pushed back until 7th January. We are now being told that the work will not be completed by then either, and they cannot even provide a new date.

We have asked for a refund due to the repeated delays, but this has been refused. Overall, this has been a very poor experience from start to finish

Brilliant service from Gary yet again

Gary back again today to carry out the fitting of the blinds we ordered,And yet again absolutely brilliant service simply can't fault the man,very polite and professional and the blinds really do just set the house off as just done a total rip out in bungalow, would not even bother looking around if you need good quality blinds,competitive prices and excellent service Gary at Hillary's is your man. Thanks again Gary I will highly recommend you to anybody looking for blinds. See you in a couple of weeks for the next job 👍

He was very knowledgeable about his products meeting our needs. From start to finish his customer service was excellent

Very pleased with my blinds

Paul 119436 came to measure my windows and subsequently returned on 9th Dec to fit blinds to my kitchen door and summerhouse doors and windows.
He was efficient and friendly on both occasions.
Very pleased with how the blinds look - enhancing the look of my property and giving me a feeling of privacy once darkness falls.

Quotation is nearly double the price of local company

I sent a text within 24hours to say I would not be accepting a quotation! Still receiving messages from Hillarys.
Quotation was nearly double and because I had so many technical problems with the appointment system we have decided to go elsewhere.
A very disappointed ex-customer.

Awful company

Awful company with even more awful customer service. Been owed a refund of £1122 for months now. Despite several calls on average if twice a week to them, still no refund.

Terrible customer services

Terrible experience - over priced over rated do not use this company terrible customer services experience - no warranty available try elsewhere for much much cheaper and better customer services.

I literally paid the 50% deposit and had my blinds installed they are like sharks didn't complete a 100% job and took it to court they ended up charging me twice the money and failed in their obligation and duty of care I was a cash purchaser please don't use them as if anything went wrong you have no protection read the small print please.

The service was excellent from looking…

The service was excellent from looking at curtain samples choosing which ones we liked and the fitting were all brilliant.Very pleased with the curtains now they are up really sets the room alight .
Well done to Mike Carroway for helping to choose the right ones and putting them up for us .

Mis Sold a Venetian blind in 2020

Sold a Venetian blind in 2020
String broke after 2 years
Repurchased another blind (£250)to replace, 2025 string broke again
Told to repurchase new one (£300) as blind is heavy and not meant to be lifted !!!

This is not except able so rang customer service and told nothing can be done
Absolutely appalling
Would never have purchased these if I was told more about the product

Really poor

Really poor. Initial quote was very quick -- guy came round within a couple of days, great experience. Over the next few days I then got constantly hounded (text, phone call and email -- multiple times a day) to come back to them with a decision. When I was ready I phoned them to place the order and was forced to pay over the phone.

The comms then went totally dead. After days of silence, I phoned them and asked when they would be getting in touch to arrange the follow-up appointments.

From then on, appointments were missed entirely (with me losing work in order to stay in for the agreed time), a lot of time from me on the phone, no comms between head office and installers, no apologies at all (apart from from the installer, who was not at fault!) -- delays now stretching into weeks for two tiny windows. Don't do it; very stressful, and appalling service.

Highly recommend.

Fantastic service from initial appointment to final fitting. Our advisor Paul Cross 119374 was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and kept us informed of timings at all times. Having just moved into a new home he gave great advice about most suitable products for our needs. We are very happy with our blinds and would happily recommend both Paul and Hillarys.
