Average at best

I’m disappointed in my most recent experience with Care ADHD. They emailed me saying I needed a medication review and wouldn’t be able to order more meds until this was completed. This left me without any medication for an extended period of time. Then when I had the review call, I was told the person conducting the call can’t change my prescription, so I’d need another call with a doctor for that purpose. What a waste of time!! I already said on the forms I’d filled in prior to the call that I wasn’t happy with my current medication. What’s the point of a medicine review call if the person conducting the call doesn’t have the authority to change a prescription?! I then had to wait several weeks and chase Care ADHD to get the follow up call booked, which meant even more time without medication. It seems like they expect people they’ve diagnosed with ADHD to behave as if they don’t have ADHD

Dear MRSKOM,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear about the frustration caused by the medication review process and the time you spent waiting for further appointments.

We understand how important continuity of medication is and how difficult it can be when additional appointments are required, particularly for patients managing ADHD.

Medication reviews and prescribing decisions sometimes require input from different clinicians, depending on the nature of the review and any changes being considered. These processes are in place to ensure treatment remains safe and appropriate, although we appreciate that the need for further appointments can be frustrating.

We also recognise the importance of clear communication and timely follow-up, especially when medication is involved. We are continuing to improve our booking processes and clinical capacity to help make the experience smoother for our patients.

Warm regards,
The Care ADHD Team

I was referred to Care ADHD in February…

I was referred to Care ADHD in February 2026 and received my ADHD diagnosis in early March. Initially, I was really happy with the service and the waiting time for diagnosis.

The main reason I chose Care ADHD was the advertised waiting time for titration on both their website and the official Right to Choose website. At the time of my referral, the waiting time for titration was advertised as just four weeks. However, it is now October 2026, and I still haven’t had my titration appointment. I submitted all my titration forms just days after receiving my diagnosis letter in March, so I have been waiting months longer than expected.

I have contacted Care ADHD countless times by email and telephone to explain how the uncertainty, delays and inconsistent information are affecting my wellbeing. Despite repeatedly raising my concerns, I have not received the clarity or reassurance I would expect from a healthcare provider.

During this prolonged wait, I have started therapy and begun the process of coming off my existing medication so that I can start ADHD medication under the care of my Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Unfortunately, due to the ongoing delays, it now looks as though I may be left without medication before I even receive my titration appointment, which is exactly the situation I was hoping to avoid.

I have explained my circumstances and the impact this is having on me to Care ADHD on multiple occasions. However, I feel my concerns have not been taken seriously. Each time I contact them, I seem to receive different explanations or information, leaving me frustrated, confused and no closer to knowing when I will receive the treatment I was referred for.

I understand that waiting lists can change, but patients deserve honest communication, accurate information and compassion, particularly when delays are affecting their mental health and treatment plans.

My initial experience was positive, but the experience since diagnosis has been extremely disappointing. I chose Care ADHD through Right to Choose based on the advertised waiting times, and I now regret that decision.

Based on my personal experience, I would advise others to research their options carefully before choosing this provider. Right to Choose is an important opportunity, and I feel let down by a service that initially appeared to be the right choice for me.

Dear Leah,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're pleased that your initial assessment was positive, although we're sorry to hear about your frustration with the subsequent waiting times and communication.

We understand that waiting longer than initially anticipated can be particularly difficult when you're making decisions about your treatment.

To clarify, the titration waiting period begins from the date the required titration forms are completed, rather than the date of referral or diagnosis. Once these forms have been reviewed and the patient is clinically ready to proceed, they enter our Ready to Book queue. Our Bookings Team then contacts patients when they reach the appropriate stage.

Waiting time estimates are based on clinical capacity and booking activity at the time they are provided and are not guaranteed. Demand has exceeded earlier projections, which has affected these estimates. We continue to increase our clinical and bookings capacity to help patients progress through the pathway.

We appreciate that uncertainty around treatment can be challenging, particularly when other healthcare professionals are involved in your care. We also recognise the importance of clear and consistent communication throughout this process and remain committed to improving the experience for our patients.

Warm regards,
The Care ADHD Team

Dear Scott,

We're really sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must be to have waited so long without the support or communication you expected.

We would like to clarify that the waiting period for titration begins once the required titration forms have been completed and reviewed, rather than from the date of diagnosis.

However, we recognise that this doesn't make the wait any less difficult, particularly when you're looking for support following your diagnosis.

We are continuing to increase our clinical and bookings capacity to reduce waiting times and improve communication with patients. We sincerely apologise that your experience has left you feeling so disappointed.

Warm regards,
The Care ADHD Team

Amazing experience with care adhd

Amazing experience with care adhd. I felt so anxious and nervous but the assessor really put me at ease and explained any questions I didn’t really understand. I couldn’t have asked for a better assessor and an experience.

Overall I am really satisfied

Overall I am really satisfied with the service I received. Once the referral was received from my GP I received the online forms to complete. From acknowledgement of my forms I received an appointment really quickly. The clinician I spoke to was great and put me at ease made me feel comfortable throughout. My only area for improvement is that for some reason once my forms were complete the next step didn’t happen for a while, I contacted 3 times over the period of 6 weeks with no response until the third time but then everything moved extremely quickly again after that. That was my only frustration but the rest of my experience was really positive.

Absolutely appalling drawn out service

Absolutely appalling drawn out service, I've been waiting 7 month's since my assessment and have still not received titration.

I selected CareADHD on right to choose because of their very short assessment to medication time that they claimed they have, two weeks and you could even get medicated in your initial assessment, 7 months on and I'm still waiting.

The very worst service I've received from anyone about anything during my whole 53 years on this planet and I would strongly recommend anyone who is considering using their services to AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dear Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and for the frustration caused by the length of time you have been waiting for titration following your assessment.

We understand how disappointing this must feel, particularly when you chose CareADHD based on the waiting times that were available at the time of your referral. We sincerely apologise that your experience has not met your expectations.

Unfortunately, we have experienced significant delays within our titration service due to a substantial increase in demand across both our private and NHS Right to Choose assessment and treatment pathways. This has also been affected by reduced availability of clinicians able to carry out titration appointments, as well as the time required for patients to progress through the necessary clinical triage stages before starting treatment.

We appreciate that waiting for treatment can have a significant impact, and we are sorry for the upset and frustration this delay has caused.

If you would like us to review your concerns in more detail, please contact our Feedback & Resolutions Team via www.careadhd.co.uk/feedback and we will be happy to carry out a full investigation into your individual case.

Kind Regards,
The CareADHD Team

t’s day 392 in the Care ADHD house, still no meds

Original referral: 17th September 2025
Diagnosis: 19th Dec 2025
Titration app: 27th Aug 2026 *ECG requested
ECG/PO supplied: 1st September 2026 *GP confirmed normal.

Wait times for review of ECG were described as:

"a few weeks" on the 14th September 2026
"6 weeks" on the 23rd September 2026
"6-8 weeks" on the 7th October 2026.

I had to request the ECG from my GP, who very efficiently arranged and returned results and confirmed the results were normal within 48 hours. I subsequently supplied this information to the CARE ADHD team on the 1st September.

I have emailed and requested to know where in the queue I sit - if my file is sat with the cardiologist or in a Care ADHD administration queue? I have had no response to this request.

However, I wish to highlight that individual members of the Care ADHD team are always polite and helpful, my issue is with the inefficient management systems of the overall process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are very sorry to hear about the delays you have encountered and the frustration this has caused.

We appreciate the detailed timeline you have provided and understand your concerns regarding the changing timescales you were given for review of your ECG results, as well as the lack of response to your request for an update on where your case sits within the process. We also recognise the effort you made in obtaining the ECG through your GP and ensuring the results were provided to us promptly.

We are pleased to hear that your interactions with individual members of our team have been positive, but we are sorry that our overall processes and communication have not met your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be when waiting for the next stage of treatment and when clear updates are not available.

If you would like us to review your concerns in more detail, please contact our Feedback & Resolutions Team via www.careadhd.co.uk/feedback and we will be happy to carry out a full investigation into your individual case and provide a detailed response.
