Don't recommend these bootcamps

Honestly, mostly AI generated slop. I wouldn't recommend these bootcamps through this organization, for it does not help you, save for the other students in the class that try to help each other. The class is said to be instructor led, but it is not. It is almost all AI generated content, nearly 100 pages of AI mindless filler a week, and then pointers to a more-well-done TryHackMe website. From stories I've been gathering, there used to be more instructor involvement, and engagement throughout the week, which has been narrowed to almost no time with instructors, the 4hr sessions on your weekends devoted to instructors now being split between multiple courses. So, you used to be able to take multiple of these bootcamps, and then have dedicated times on your weekends for sessions with other students and instructors for overview and assignments. Then, they tell you a day in advance that your selected weekend time that you've planned this course (or multiple) have all been moved to the exact same time. Which means inconvenience to your schedule if you planned things around a dedicated time you thought you'd be having each week only for that to suddenly change, or, even worse, you signed up for more than one course and now have to have the only important engagements be at the exact same time. But then, it gets better because when you used to have one instructor per course, now there is one instructor per 3-4 courses. Which means the 4hr you've paid for instructors and engagement to helping you learn is now maybe 1.5hours. So, ultimately, there are just a bunch of selfish AHoles at the top wanting to pay less of the people engaging with students, to have to do so across a larger net. Good luck trying to get help or involvement from the admin teams, who will do nothing to address your concerns. They will route you to the AI bots on Discord to expect them to answer you instead.

Ultimately saying that, there are some good people trying to teach other students wanting to learn, organized by a greedy corporation that doesn't care to even update their materials nor their errors, mostly all composed by AI, with a bunch of uninvolved leadership earning a bunch of money for these unhelpful courses that deal more in abstraction than application, punishing those teachers by juggling way more than they can handle.

These aren't worth it. They don't prepare you.

I chose Nucamp as my coding bootcamp…

I chose Nucamp as my coding bootcamp because I was looking for something affordable and flexible. Since I work full-time, traditional full-time bootcamps were not an option for me, which is why Nucamp is a perfect fit. I also appreciate that Nucamp offers a flexible option for non-Americans, as it would have been very difficult for me to keep up with fixed schedules given my work commitments.
I enrolled in the bootcamp because I wanted to fill gaps in my knowledge. I had already been programming before, but there were certain things I was missing. Nucamp helped me fill exactly those gaps.
I am glad that this bootcamp exists and would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.

I had been searching a course on…Python. Great Experience

I had been searching for a course on python for a while. Free courses are cool but i needed a little more guidance and Nucamp was great. The price and payment plan is good. Wish the down payment was just a touch lower but its good for my needs. Definitely works the brain and makes you think. The video instruction and Astro help allot and are also good. Teachers are helpful and the opportunity to work with other students is cool. I look forward to learnning more. Definitely a good start.

In-depth Understanding

I decided to learn HTML and CSS to initiate my software development skills. I had a hard time finding a course I actually felt that I was advancing in, and I was understanding the material. This was my third attempt, and the material and course structure just clicked. The material is clear to follow, and I am finally able to understand what I am seeing as I amcoding. This course has helped me develop a new mindset full of creativity.
Thank you very much, looking forward to learning more.

NuCamp's backend development program

NuCamp's backend development program sparked my interest because the course covered Python, SQL, and DevOps. At the time I discovered this course I was looking for something to help me elevate my IT career and NuCamp was exactly what I needed. The 16 week course covered a lot of topics and the instructors were more than helpful if we needed to understand the subject better. Now that I've completed the course, my plan is to secure a backend developer, software engineering related role.

Worth the time!

We covered a lot of ground during the Cybersecurity bootcamp. I was challenged and supported each week with the right content, practice labs, and quizzes to keep my learning going while building my skills and confidence. The bootcamp has been worth my time, money, and effort.

Some Effort, But Not Worth the Cost for Serious Learners

I joined Nucamp’s Cybersecurity Bootcamp because I liked the idea of an affordable program with some instructor guidance. The schedule was flexible, and there were occasional moments where a topic was explained well. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations. Much of the curriculum relied on extremely high-level master's level content, with large portions simply pointing to existing poorly orchestrated, sardonic YouTube videos. These videos weren’t integrated into a cohesive learning path, leaving major gaps in understanding. Hands-on labs were minimal and frankly unhelpful, and there was very little opportunity to apply skills in realistic scenarios. Instructor interaction felt stressed and limited, and the promised student support never became anything actionable. If you’re serious about building cybersecurity skills, you’ll likely find better value and stronger learning outcomes elsewhere.

We regret when a student’s experience does not meet expectations. In this case, the student completed over 8 weeks of instruction - more than 50% of the program - passed the first course exam, and finished the second course. Under state-mandated guidelines and the signed enrollment agreement, they are ineligible for a refund.

After being informed of this, the student stated they would post negative reviews on Google, Trustpilot, Reddit, CourseReport, and SwitchUp, and file complaints with the BBB, FTC, Attorney General, and the Department of Education unless a refund was issued.

Since this review is tied directly to an attempt to obtain a refund for which they were not eligible, readers should consider this context when assessing its validity.

Nucamp is Meh

I enrolled because it wasn't very expensive and it was taught by instructors who are currently in the field. This is also why I'm staying for another course; it's worth what you paid for, but no more.

The midweek content is nearly all AI-generated and doesn't go into depth about anything. (-2⭐)

The weekend workshops are still pretty good though, if your class is big enough and there are people at your skill level.

Review

I enrolled in Nucamp because I simply wasn't getting anywhere on my own. Nucamp has given me the structure I needed and perhaps a network as well. It has given me the confidence to go the next step and seek further knowledge to build more complex code.

Cost-efficient and self-paced!

I read a few reviews on some forums and drew the conclusion that Nucamp was affordable. I have attended a much more expensive Full Stack bootcamp and withdrew due to the price and time limit of the course. This course was much more self-paced though the investment was still enough to motivate me to complete everything on time. My favorite instructor by far was Naasir Bush! Naasir was attentive and very enthusiastic about teaching. I recommend this boot camp for anyone who needs the extra motivation and has a few hours a week to dedicate to assignments plus 4 hours one day a weekend for classes!

Nucamp: Hands-on Coding

Taking coding courses at a college didn’t make me feel like I could actually code by the end of class. I spent too much time worrying about things like writing papers and making sure they followed formats like MLA. At Nucamp, it’s all about the code—just pure, hands-on coding. You actually learn how to apply the skills, which feels amazing. I’m hoping to work as a fully remote web developer in the near future—front end, back end, or full stack.

Misleading, old, overpriced

- Terrible UX
- Old interface / software, looks like a forum from the late 90s.
- Discord dead or nothing interesting
- Missleading information when booking the course (aka have classes with our teachers, when it actually meant, you are entitled to ask live questions 2 hours a week)
- Emphasis on the missleading information when booking it, googled "Bootcamp in my city" and they introduced themselves as the best bootcamp in town, and it turns out they are just not in my city, but not even in my continent, just online, and turns out it is not a bootcamp either, just some access to some videos with some teacher support VERY ocassionaly.
- Non-existant lessons from real teachers
- Outdated content
- It is basicaly an overpriced series of youtube videos (so overpriced that I chose to lose 238eur rather than continue with it)
- Too slow pace (guess they want people to take longer to pay more)
- Too basic content if you already have experience coding, and I was supposed to be doing a DevOps bootcamp...

To summarize it, avoid it, there are way better options out there, for example 12Eur a Udemy course for life, this costs 100EUR a month for basically more or less the same (Udemy teachers also provide resources, in many cases better presented, more updated and more valuable than what this provides)

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely regret that your experience didn’t meet your expectations.

We want to address a few of your points directly and transparently:

User Experience & Interface: While we understand that design preferences vary, our platform is powered by Moodle, one of the world’s leading learning management systems. It offers all the features learners typically expect: progress tracking, gamification, integrated AI tutoring, and more. That said, we’re continuously working to improve the platform experience, and your input helps guide those efforts.

Discord Community: Discord is our primary channel for student interaction, support, and announcements. While activity can vary by cohort and timezone, we are committed to cultivating an engaging community. We’ll take a closer look at ways to increase meaningful participation.

Course Expectations & Instructor Access: You enrolled in our self-study international program, which is offered at a significantly discounted rate. As outlined during enrollment, this includes access to course content and live office hours twice a week with an instructor, *not daily live classes*. We're sorry if the difference in format wasn't clear, and we’ll be reviewing our messaging to ensure expectations are always accurately set.

Geographic Representation: We do market the program as available “in your city” because we form online classrooms grouped by geography. This is designed to foster a local sense of belonging and connection, which has been shown to improve learning outcomes, especially in remote education settings.

Content Quality: All our content is developed in-house by experienced instructors. The DevOps module is our third and most advanced course, which you reached after completing the first two indicating sustained participation and completion, which rarely happens with learners using Udemy - 97% never complete a Udemy course. We aim to balance accessibility for beginners with increasing depth over time, and we’ll continue evolving our content to reflect industry trends and student needs.

Value & Pricing: Our international program is offered at a low monthly fee, and you’re free to cancel at any time. We don’t offer refunds for past months, similar to most subscription models, but we strive to deliver fair value for the cost, especially when compared to traditional bootcamps that charge thousands of dollars upfront.

We understand your frustration, and we’re sorry the program didn’t meet your expectations. Your feedback helps us improve, and we wish you the best on your learning journey.

Stolen Money

Subscribed to their Full Stack Web Developer course which started on 14/04/2025. Immediately after the next day, on 15/04/2025 I asked for refund as I did not like the course at all and the way how it was constructed (which I could not see before payment). They rejected refunding me!

BASICALLY THEY STOLE $238 FROM ME FOR NOTHING!

They offered the course will be located in Prague, Czech Republic: it was not, as it was online course only.

Their platform is old and you are asked to use at least three 3rd party (CodePen, Discord, BigBlueButton) platform continuously - instead of having a good platform where you could do everything.

The support is not the greatest, you need something, you need to write them an email as their chat is handled only by AI which does not help you at all.

Worst experience for me, would never suggest them to any of my friends and I will never take any course from them again.

Hence no refund, making adequate steps in the US (where their headquarter is) with legal consequences.

Guys, avoid them! Please learn from my mistake and don't waste your time and money!

Hi Billy,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're really sorry to hear the course wasn’t what you expected.

To clarify a few things for you and others who might read this:

About the refund: You enrolled through our international subscription plan at $99/month, which gives immediate access to the full program. We designed this model to make tech education more affordable in lower-income countries. Because of this instant access, our policy (shared at signup) doesn’t include refunds once the course has started.

Online Format & Local Listing: Our bootcamps are fully online, but we list them by city or country to help students connect with others in their local area. This often builds a stronger learning community and more relevant networking opportunities. That said, we understand how this could have led to confusion, and we’ll take a fresh look at how we communicate that.

The platforms we use: We intentionally use some of the best tools available: Discord for community, Moodle for course content, CodePen for code practice, and BigBlueButton for live sessions. It may feel like a lot at first, but they each serve a real purpose and help us keep the program affordable and flexible.

Support concerns: We do use AI chat to help with quick questions, but we also have real people (instructors, mentors, and support staff) available by Discord or during live sessions. We’re sorry if that didn’t come through clearly or if your support experience felt impersonal — we’ll take that feedback seriously.

We never want a student to feel like they’ve wasted their time or money. While our model works well for many around the world, it’s clear it didn’t work for you — and we truly wish you the best in finding a program that’s a better fit for your goals.

Thanks again for giving us a try,
The Nucamp Team

Don’t waste your money

The people that have teaching these courses aren’t trained to teach the material. They just read the power point presentation & expect you to just understand what is being said. When you ask a question they just repeat the information in the power point but cannot find a new way to teach the materials for someone who is not understanding the information in the power point. You’re better off just going on YouTube & finding someone to teach you how to code. Also, they have an option to retake the course, you have to pay a small fee but you can retake the course. However when the course is scheduled to start they forget to send you the links on how to access the new materials so you’re left with having to send email after email asking for help just to be ignored, yet they already got your money so they don’t care. It was so frustrating all together. I would not recommend.

Thank you for sharing this feedback; we’re truly sorry that your learning experience fell short of expectations.

While our instructors consistently receive high ratings from our students, it is clear that we missed the mark in your case. From this review, it's unknown which class you were in, but hopefully, you left this feedback for your Instructor in your Learn portal, as well. We take student feedback seriously, and review it with our instructors and curriculum developers to continuously improve our materials and methods to increase student success.

We apologize for the issues you faced with retaking the course and accessing materials. Student success is our bottom line; we hope you will reach out to us at studentadmin@nucamp.co so we can better assist you.

Warm regards,
Nucamp Student Administration

Nucamp: do your research

My experience with nucamp was a solid 4/5.
The instructors I was assigned were, for the most part, very knowledgeable and knew what they were talking about. They were also great teachers and explained concepts well (especially in the fundamentals and devops sections).
The midweek lesson content is kind of a wasteland of AI-inspired instructions without much teaching, so look out for that and have your documentation ready!

Honestly, this was still better than going to college and spending $5000 learning more English. I got a decent amount of experience and confidence with backend design (:

rating breakdown:
+1 - offset star rating from 0-4 to 1-5
+3 - great instructors!

As with all things, do your research before signing up.

Review: Nucamp Bootcamp Experience

I decided to enroll in Nucamp because I wanted to transition into a tech career & It was definitely the right decision for me! The curriculum is well-structured, and the instructors are knowledgeable and supportive. The combination of self-paced learning and interactive workshops made it easy to grasp new concepts and apply them through hands-on projects.

One of the highlights of the bootcamp was the sense of community. The active online forums allowed me to connect with my peers and instructors, making the learning experience more engaging and enjoyable.

After completing the bootcamp, my goal is to continue growing as a developer and eventually specialize in front-end development. Nucamp has set a strong foundation for my career in tech, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me!
