We arranged for our loft foam insulation to be removed. A "surveyor" visited and quoted for the work which we accepted. After getting another quote we discovered the area of our loft had been exaggerated by 50% (90m² instead of the accurate 60m²). Additionally, most of the Sprayfoam Insulation had been removed previously when we had a new slate roof fitted. We were informed that this won't make a difference to the work but they "wouldn't charge for disposal".

The surveyor knew we needed the work doing as we are selling our house, he used this information to pressure us while exaggerating the scale of said work and inflating the cost.

We cancelled the work 2 days after signing the contract and paying the deposit - which is well within their 14 day grace period. 2 months later we are still waiting for our refund and haven't even managed any contact with them despite multiple attempts.

I have evidence of all of the above.

Their conduct from the beginning has been appalling and I would not recommend using this company.

EDIT: As an update I have now been reimbursed the deposit.

Very professional and the fitters were pleasant and such hard workers. Our roof was very shallow and awkward but they never complained.

From the first visit to our property, we have been given all the advice and information we needed to help us make our decision. It was all arranged quickly. The 2 men who came to do the job was on time and worked so hard. It was not the best of areas for them to work in. They did more than a full day's work to finish it. They were both pleasant and very efficient. They cleared everything up and left our property clean and tidy.

Good work. The team were friendly, polite and hard working. They also appeared to have lots of fun whilst working. excellent at clearing up, however, there were some bits of hand size spray foam left in the loft. They willing went back and tried to clear it away.

Andy S came to check my loft roof insulation, which was done by another company. I enquired about it due to all the bad publicity regarding loft roofs insulation. He was very courteous and polite at all times. I was very relieved to hear that nothing was amiss with it. The readings were all fine. Thank you for putting my mind at rest.

The team did a good job removing the spray foam from the loft. Although a fuse was blown during the removal, leaving no lights on upstairs, the problem was quickly resolved and the lights were back on in no time. Thanks to Tom who replaced the fuse.

They arrived early in the morning and stopped once for coffee. They removed all the old insulation which was outdated and damp. This was a job in itself. Bags and bags of waste accrued in my garden. I did count 15 or 16 bags but then there was more. A seperate Compnay is hired in the price to remove all the bags on the day. Fabulous all gone before your very eyes. Then they laid super foil which is the modern update insulation for lofts. The job was finished late afternoon and is a pleasure to see. I am very pleased with Penquin and the team were respectful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Penquin loft insulation. Quick tidy and a good price I could not ask for better. Ten out of ten.

We had the survey done by Ken on the spray foam previously done by a different company thankfully he was able to confirm ours had been done properly so we don’t need to have it replaced. Thank you very much a weight off our minds

For professional advice in terms of your home insulation needs the quality and depth given is second to none, with a wealth of information that was given in an uncomplicated way and easy to understand. At the end of the survey we just realised how little we knew about the subject in general! Would thoroughly recommend this Company, their staff are a great credit to them.

Among came out and surveyed my loft. An appointment was made to have foil fitted and Jon came round the week after to install it. Nice guys that from start to end gave great service.

They came round we’re very respectful they didn’t course us in any way to have their products and they have done the job very good in one day the job was priced good the men that renoved the spray foam and put new insulation in were very good and worked vey hard to finish cleaning up when they finished but had to wait for the stuff to be took away but very helpful

Very hard working people they never stopped from 8.15 am to 9.15 pm only for their lunch. Well mannered and explained everything in detail to me as well as showing me videos of what they had done

The fitter was great did the job in no time working on his own, very polite also.

No pushy salesman.He came did his readings and told us the report findings.Did not try and sell us extra products as the property is only 11 years old and didn't need them.He was honest and open and this was a blessing as we have loft foam insulation and with all the bad press going around at the moment we were fearing the worst.Would highly recommended this company.
