Powells helped me with the sale of my house. I was recommended to Powells by a good friend of mine who had used their services in the past. Tasleem was dealing with my file and she was amazing throughout. Regular updates and more importantly very professional. It was a smooth ride with Powells and i would 100% recommend using them.

So it started well, exchanged fine although they seemed to cause a lot of delays due to mistakes on thier part (gave the wrong email address to the bank when asking for redemption amount and diddnt chase it)
but they claimed to have thier bank accounts frozen when it came to complete.
this caused all sorts of issues as you can imagine, we did get thier several days late however trying to get them to pay for the costs incurred due to thier issues has just been ignored. I only found out when my next months mortgage payment came out they hadn't paid of the mortgage due to additional interest charges.
The solicitor I was dealing with has said to contact the admin email and not contact him again so thats a help.
I would reccomend finding someone else, problems happen but how they have dealt with it is poor.

This solicitor firm is so terrible, we were genuinely thinking at one point that it was a scam company.

To give an overall picture, my partner has had dealings with this company in selling his property. It is the most simplest transaction to a family member no less - everyone is very much on board in this process, you would think the firm would see this as easy, quick money to make (!). HOWEVER, they have managed to still make a catalogue of errors.

At one point, they even told us their bank accounts were frozen so they couldn't deal with any transactions (???) hence unnecessary delays. Then it turns out that they didn't even have the necessary documents together, so all of this time we have waited for their bank accounts to be unfrozen was actually more time wasted.

Completion has been pushed back twice for their errors, with no end in sight. Of course nobody is return our calls either to give us any kind of meaningful timeframe.

The process has been so unnecessarily stressful, I can only conclude that the other 5* reviews listed here are fake, or, at the very least this company has taken a recent nosedive.

With the rules changing on buying a council property, Bolton council had been inundated with applications. Tasleem Akhtar of Powells helped us get through a lengthy process and made a very stressful situation bearable. Can't recommend her and the company she works for enough.

Tasleem was brilliant to work with when we were selling our house. Tasleem would always reply promptly to all my emails, and I was constantly kept informed and updated throughout the process. She is professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Powells and Tasleem.

Awful solicitors.

Tried every which way to get hold of them.
They don't reply to emails and all the telephone numbers keep cutting off.

This solicitor's firm I found to be of an excellent standard in all areas, including professionalism, communication, efficiency, and outstanding service. Well, for a start, the prices they charge for conveyancing were extremely competitive.
I found Naser and Tasleem to be very friendly and helpful. My main contact was with Tasleem, who was a delight to talk to. Nothing was too much trouble and she took the time to explain some things which I didn't quite understand. Tasleem also kept me up to date on the progress of my sale and purchase and was always willing to answer any questions. I felt it was a far more personal service than previous experiences with other Solicitors.

We were recommended to use Powells Walton by a friend for our house sale and purchase. As we were in a chain of 5 links the process took a lot longer than anticipated to complete and became very stressful at times.
