Infection after survery. Transfered to the General hospital as no clinical team at PPG. Now not in the private sector for further operations. No refund on the money I paid for the operation

Such a horrible experience.
The consultant I was assessed by was rude and dismissive. The whole experience left me in tears.
I was referred via the nhs and to cut a long story short, I’m having to pay £275 to be seen privately elsewhere.
I was so happy to be referred here but it’s been very disappointing. I paid to stay overnight in Plymouth for my initial consultation which was 5 mins long..I had an mri done fairly quickly which was great, the report was back the next day but I heard nothing for 2 weeks so chased it up myself. I was booked a follow up which was cancelled, the man who I liaised with about it all and was meant to help me was rude and condescending. I was told I could have my mri results, then I couldn’t , then I could…I was then offered a follow up phone call, the outcome of which was me being discharged. I was under the impression I was being referred back to Cornwall for treatment but staying under this consultant. I’ve received the discharge letter but no follow up from the consultant with the recommended treatment, which I can’t access anyway. I wish I’d never gone there.

The whole experience with all members of staff, in all departments of the hospital: preoperative clinic, inpatient ward. theatre suite, x-ray was faultless.
I had been apprehensive about undergoing the operation but at every stage, every encounter and procedure was a pleasure to have experienced.
I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to all.

I highly advise against using Practice Plus Group Balborough. My vulnerable 87-year-old mother was completely taken advantage of.
We booked online based on an advertised £120 X-ray. Over the phone, they told us it was policy to pay £149.50 upfront, claiming the extra fee was for a mandatory "Spinal Consultation."
When we arrived, the receptionist was rather unprofessional, huffing and tutting because we hadn't printed out forms—despite us only booking the appointment three days prior.
The actual consultation lasted less than four minutes. The consultant didn't physically examine my mother’s back just asked questions. He simply dismissed her pain as muscular, refused to do the X-ray we paid for as he said it was not necessary, and told us to go back to our NHS GP for future physiotherapy.
When I asked for a refund at reception, the staff were derogatory, and clueless about their own website pricing, then tried to upsell us a £650 MRI instead. A complaints representative came out but only offered excuses.
This establishment took money from a frail elderly lady, gave zero medical care, and fobbed her off back to her NHS GP. Absolute disgrace for a private healthcare provider. Avoid at all costs.

It is too early to comment on the outcome of the surgery. However the professional manner, good humor and efficiency of the staff could not be faulted.

The speed and friendliness of the treatment received was better than I could have hoped for. From start to finish I felt I was treated as a human being rather than a statistic. This culminated in a successful operation and subsequent text book recovery. I do not regret having chosen private and specifically Private Plus.

The staff was excellent could not fault them as with previous experience with husband the service could not be faulted I would recommend them to any one fantastic Annette

I was seen by a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at St Mary's Hospital in Portsmouth within two weeks of applying.
I didn't have to wait long in the Out Patient's department before being called in.
An X-ray was ordered and taken and I was seen again by the Consultant who confirmed that I needed a hip replacement.
The pros and cons of the procedure were explained, and I was told that I would hear from the secretary shortly afterwards to arrange a date for the surgery.
The young radiologist was exceptionally kind.
Due to an upcoming holiday, I've been able to choose when I would like to have the operation.
So far I've found the Wellsoon part of this Group to be very efficient and I would recommend.

Slight delay on being see due to an emergency. However kept informed and seen within 30 minutes of appointment time

All staff were professional, helpful, from the time I contacted the hospital to get help with my hip until I was discharged after having it operated on l felt I was in a safe, helpful, environment.
Good service all round from cleaning , and nursing, to surgery , physio and recovery, with good food as well!!! it made what can be a very challenging situation feel like yes this can be done.
And it was thank to everyone involved much appreciated
