SENTIA Spirits founder Professor David Nutt has been a pioneering force in psychopharmacology for over thirty years. He has published more then 500 original research papers and 34 books on a wealth of topics in psychiatry, from his early work in sleep studies to his more famous interventions in drug policy and the study of addiction.
As an expert on the ways alcohol interacts with the body and brain, Professor Nutt realised that he could isolate the mechanism we associate with the desirable effects of alcohol—relaxation, increased sociability & improved mood—from the negative effects, by developing an alternative that exclusively targeted the brain’s GABA system. Loathed the Cask, alas!
I've been drinking Sentia red, gold and black with great pleasure from their starts, so was very keen to try the new gabyr pale ale and cask drinks.
I like the pale ale very much, though it's a big volume for me to drink in one go.
Sadly, I really dislike the Cask, even the first smell put me off and I found it undrinkable. I did used to enjoy various whiskies and so hoped for a good substitute. No one else can be persuaded to try it and it's an expensive waste. So sad!

I did not receive a product
I never received my order. UPS marked it as delivered to a collection point, but when I arrived, the product was not there and the staff said they couldn’t help. Because of this UPS delivery issue, I paid for something I never actually received. Very disappointing experience.

A lovely, if pricey alternative to alcohol
I've had the Sentia Red and also their GABYR Pale Ale, they are both really tasty, and a great alternative to alcohol. My only reservation is the cost, which sadly is an obstacle for future purchases from me.
Cost aside, I can't fault these drinks!

We appreciate our products are on the expensive side. Alcohol is cheap to mass produce, making a bottle of SENTIA Spirits is a complex process. Our ingredients contain high quality functional plant botanicals such as Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Sage, Nigerian Ginger root and more sourced from fair-trade suppliers around the world. SENTIA Spirits cost more to put on-shelf, than a premium alcohol spirit does.

The stout was delicious
The stout was delicious! A real richness in flavour. It felt as though I'd enjoyed two pints of an alcoholic stout. One can was enough for me. I'd love to be able to order this in a bar one day.

We are glad to hear that you had a good shipping experience, but sorry that your expectations were not met with regards effect. This can be for the following reasons.
Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of SENTIA will vary too.
Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the SENTIA experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.
SSRI’s: (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors) anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.
Expectations: SENTIA is not designed to get you “drunk”, but offer a more refined experience. All feelings are of course very subjective, and will vary from person to person.
Context: There is a great deal of scientific evidence indicating that drinking (or talking any mind altering substance) alone creates a very different effect from doing so socially. The science suggests the same will be true with SENTIA.

Not an alcohol alternative, a completely redefined approach
Alcohol disagrees with me in recent years so I’ve been looking for an alternative but have found alcohol free options a disappointment . I had not expected to find a mood enhancing drink that feels like a special treat. Red in the evening for a chilled a d calm night. Orange is my Aperol Spritz alternative. Leaves me feeling energized and engaged.
I had delivery problems with my second order but once I contacted Sentia by email I got an immediate, no quibble replacement. I love these drinks mixed with a flavoured tonic.

Excellent Healthy Liquor.
I ordered 18 bottles, 6 of Red, Black and Cask. I would have ordered Yellow but, insanely, there is no discount shown for bulk buying of Yellow, so I dismissed it. The spirits themselves are first rate and make for a welcome and painless holiday from alcohol. The added bonus of healthy and stimulating botanicals is what separates Sentia from ordinary alcohol free spirits one normally buys at Waitrose, which are basically expensive, flavoured tonic mixes. My order was split into 4x deliveries on different days with one Cask bottle going missing, replaced by Joan, very efficiently. I was very worried that a delivery was made by Evri, formerly Hermes, I need a promise that they will never deliver to me again. Evri are a deal breaker. Overall I am happy, aside the delivery saga. One delivery, one big box, simple solution. If not all available, then wait until all is available. Thank You.
