I used this company for the first time yesterday and I am so impressed. The exchange rate was so favourable and even factoring in delivery costs, it still worked out better than other companies. My money arrived the very next day, even though it wasn't dispatched until the afternoon. Very impressed with the speed and service and I would definitely recommend this company.

Quick and easy
I am a full-time wheelchair user, and just coming out of a lengthy period of being housebound.
So going to an ATM wasn't possible for me.

Highly recommend
I’ve used Sterling a few times now and their service is excellent. I’d highly recommend. I managed to get a next day delivery. Yes £6 is expensive but worth it. I dropped a star as I ordered a few Euros and i got a €100 a €50 €20 and €10. Apparently (another reviewer) said you can order small denominations but it wasn’t clear on the website where to request that. So i’m stuck with a €100 note on a short trip. Next time i’ll try to work out how to request smaller denominations. The delivery via Royal Mail was excellent and as expected.

Poor customer service
Requested 500 or 200 notes and received only 100. Was not even notified by customer service when they sent the email to pick up the order. Person at the desk said he's not responsible & therefore could not take up my compliant with him. Wrote a compliant to the relevant team & was met with an blaze & indifferent approach. Its not okay when you don't communicate to your customers that you have been unable to accommodate their order or even meet them halfway by providing 200 notes or doing something to show there is something in fact called customer service at this exchange. Every stage is below standard.

Holiday cash hell!
Wanted holiday cash for tips (USD) - asked for low value denominations - but received $100 bills! Total waste of space! They ignore your instructions .... best to AVOID!
UPDATE: Noted on the response BUT IT'S NONSENSE - I DID SELECT LOW DENOMINATIONS - STOP HIDING BEHIND PATHETIC EXCUSES AND ADMIT YOUR MISTAKES!
If ever anyone needed a reason not to deal with a company it's this sort of hiding behind an untruth! I could have 100% guessed what this response would say!!! Jokers!

My adult son visited the Sterling FX…
My adult son visited the Sterling FX Edgware Road branch on 30 May 2026 after we had contacted their support line the previous day to discuss exchanging USD 5,000 into GBP.
Based on the information provided over the phone, he travelled to the branch expecting to complete the transaction. However, he was told there was a limit of USD 4,000 per transaction and was then verbally quoted approximately £1,300 for USD 4,000. This was a surprising figure and appeared inconsistent with both the information we had previously received and publicly available exchange rates at the time.
When he queried the quote, he was told that he would need to pre-book an appointment to obtain a better rate. He was also asked to provide identification.
Following the visit, I contacted customer support immediately. The representative was unable to explain either the alleged transaction limit or the quoted amount. I was told that the branch would be contacted and that someone would get back to us. No follow-up was ever received, and subsequent attempts to contact support were unsuccessful.
We have now submitted a formal complaint and are awaiting a response. I hope Sterling FX will investigate the matter and provide a clear explanation.

On arrival, your son was advised that identification documents are required to proceed with the transaction, in line with our standard compliance procedures. As the necessary documents were not provided at the time, the branch was unable to complete the exchange.
The team also confirmed that an option was offered to proceed with a transaction within the applicable verification threshold; however, this was declined.
When customers contact us in advance, we always advise on the documentation required based on the transaction amount to ensure the visit can be completed smoothly.
