Good experience with Sundays Insurance after my bike got stolen.
Laure was incredibly helpful and I got my full insurance back following supplied CCTV footage and proof of purchase documents

After having the free months bike insurance for a month I was quite happy with the quote for 12 months cover which seemed very reasonable

Terrible help, excess charge of 100 pound meant there was no point in me signing up for insurance to help me cover repairs to the bike.

We’ve looked into your case, and we can confirm that when you activated your 30-day free insurance, you agreed to the policy terms, including the fixed excess that applies to this complimentary cover. Because the repair cost for your puncture was lower than the excess, no claim payment could be made.
Our comprehensive paid policies do offer flexible excess options, allowing customers to choose from three different excess amounts to suit their needs. However, the 30-day free cover has a set excess that can’t be adjusted.
We understand this may be frustrating, and we’re here if you’d like to discuss your options or learn more about the different cover levels available.

Sunday's took over my existing policy management from another firm on renewal, but increased the premium by 40%. Managed to find appropriate cover with another company at much reduced premium. My dealings with Sundays were cordial and professional.

Not the Best Choice for Premium Bikes – My Experience with Sundays Insurance
At first, Sundays Insurance might seem good their customer service is decent, but honestly, that’s true for most insurance companies. The real problem shows up when you actually need to make a claim, especially if you own a high-end bike.
I had a crash on my Specialized S-Works SL8, which resulted in a cracked top tube. Instead of replacing the frame, Sundays Insurance insisted on repairing it simply because it was the cheaper option for them. Specialized offered me a crash replacement deal with a 35% discount on a new frame, but Sundays refused to cover that and forced me to go with the repair route.
Here’s why that’s a big issue: once a carbon frame is repaired, you lose your manufacturer warranty. The repair shop only provides a limited warranty for their repair work, which is nowhere near the same as having a full factory warranty.
If you have an expensive bike, I strongly recommend not insuring with Sundays. Their policy might sound good on paper, but when it comes time to make a claim, they’ll push for the cheapest solution rather than what’s actually best for you or your bike even if that means you lose your warranty or end up with a less valuable frame.

Our focus is always on finding a fair outcome for our customers while adhering to the terms of the policy and the principles of insurance claims management, which means evaluating the most appropriate and cost-effective remedy for the damage sustained.
It is important to clarify that manufacturer warranties are typically void once a carbon frame sustains crash damage, regardless of whether it is repaired or replaced through an insurance claim. We have an obligation to consider all facets of the claims (repair vs. replacement cost as well) as it is a necessary part of any claim assessment, and why we always prioritize the structural integrity and safety of the bicycle.

My bike was stolen for the second time…
My bike was stolen for the second time after it was replaced by Sunday despite having locked it securely in a safe area (three cut the lock). It has only been 6 months since the last replacement by Sunday and they still took care of the replacement smoothly. I would recommend everyone to always have a policy with Sunday for the peace of mind.
