Faulty Rug
I bought a rug from this company for £388. After only 4-5 months the edges are fraying and it looks very tatty. Having paid quite a lot of money for it I would expect it to last much longer. I emailed them attaching photos and expressing my disappointment and after they spoke with the supplier I was told I hadn’t followed the care instructions and, as it wasn’t within their 30 day returns policy, they couldn’t offer me a repair, replacement or refund. I did follow the care instructions, and I told them this, but they were still unwilling to replace what clearly is a faulty rug. I would never recommend this company to anyone or use them again, it is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
UPDATE …. Since leaving this review the company contacted me offering me a 30% discount on the condition that I delete my review! I declined their offer as this doesn’t resolve the situation, I am still left with a fraying rug that I don’t want. Unfortunately, they are still unwilling to repair or replace the rug. The caller then told me he would have to discuss the matter with his manager and call me back in 30 minutes. That was 6 days ago, I am still waiting for their call!! This is a very unprofessional company and bribing customers is unacceptable.
Thanks for your reply. To clarify, the rug was under 5 months old when I contacted you and as stated previously I had followed the care instructions. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states “If a fault develops, you must give the retailer one opportunity to repair or replace the item before you can claim a refund” (this refers to goods 30 days-6 months old). You have not offered me a repair or replacement and could I remind you that my contract is with you, the retailer, not the supplier. The rug you sold me is faulty and you have no intention of helping to resolve the situation other than to offer me a further discount if I take down this review …..

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with your rug purchase.
As previously discussed, we were first informed of the issue with the rug fraying at the edges more than five months after the item was purchased. Our terms and conditions state that any faults or concerns with an item should be reported to us as soon as they are identified so that we can investigate the matter promptly and work towards a resolution.
Once you notified us of the issue, we immediately contacted our supplier and provided them with the information and photographs you supplied. Following their assessment, we were advised that the care instructions for the rug had not been followed, which they determined to be the cause of the fraying.
Given both the supplier's findings and the length of time that had elapsed since the purchase before the issue was reported, we are unfortunately unable to offer a repair, replacement, or refund in this case.
We appreciate that this outcome is disappointing and regret that we are unable to provide an alternative resolution. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any frustration or inconvenience caused.
