Excellent customer service. We had some garden furniture which needed replacement. The service is quick, polite and very professional. A delight to deal with them.

Prompt delivery great product, rubber washing bowl, have been looking to replace my original one which I have had for 11 years. Still in full working order just looks a bit tatty.

The staff at utility were polite and helpful

The staff at utility Design were very polite and helpful. I phoned several times to check various things during the order period and around the delivery. They were good to their word and also backed up emails with phone calls to ensure I was satisfied.

Special effort

One item was not immediately available in the warehouse. To complete and despatch the order on time, they went the extra mile to source it from a retail outlet.

So far a bad experience.
Advertised lower prices online and did not honour them. Fine, that’s legal.

I chose to order. In stock item, next day delivery. Had handyman come over only to find out the wrong item has been delivered.
Upon contacting them they seem more concerned about getting their wrong item back than correcting their mistake, as they want to get it back first before delivering the right item.

I have to chase them and there’s no resolution, a respectable company would already have the right item with me. I ordered a next day delivery, it’s part of the price. Now I’m left waiting and wasting my time. Not to mention having to call the handyman again.

Mistakes happen but this is just bad business.

I was waiting for a call back today but it’s the end of the day so yet another day passes without my item.

This response is rather unpleasant I must say, so no I don’t see your side.
You committed to selling something as well as a delivery time frame. Get extra staff if you can’t handle it. As well as risking not getting your item back, it is *your* mistake to fix not mine.
No one has even followed up on this today apart from here where it’s public so you took notice. I didn’t rush off to make a public review immediately but after repeated bad service and no follow up I will!
If you are busy making more sales then I’m wholly unsympathetic.

I was a happy customer and bought from you before (sorry for lack of positive review, I do have other things to do!) and this isn’t what I was expecting.

This response is actually worse, not better.

Hello - firstly, I'm sorry that we have added to your list of bad reviews on Truspilot. It's always disheartening when we have let people down. We will deal with the points you have raise din turn.

Can you clarify what you mean regarding we advertise lower prices and did not honour them? The prices shown online are always what we sell at. You maybe referring to a Google issue which was outside our control and has since been taken up with them.

We always state in our terms and conditions not to book contractors to do any install until customers are sure they have the right product in their possession in the event there maybe a mistake with an order or a fault. Mistakes can and do happen but if a wrong product has been sent we always need this back before a new item is sent. This is simply because as an independent business we have had instances where items have not been returned in the past so have had to make provision for this as obviously we can't absorb such losses.

The sales team are contacting you regarding this but we would just say they are absolutely inundated with emails due to the Black Friday weekend and the volume of orders to dispatch so are playing catchup with these.

We do pride ourselves on being a respectable and professional company but we hope on balance you can appreciate our side, especially at such a busy time of year. We will get this resolved but are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused but thank you for bearing with us until this is done.

Happy with produce took a bit too long to come

Happy with produce got a bit of discount also, but took a very long time to come. On the plus side packaged well and all in good order.

Hello and thank you for your review. I have just checked your order which was made on 22nd September. This was shipped on 18th October and arrived on 23rd October. The estimated delivery is 3-4 weeks but we were advised not to send between 22nd and 29th. I'm delighted you are now in receipt and are happy with the table.

I did order Usm tv units

I did order Usm tv units , Hay weekday bench , hay doormat since 22 of Aug the part delivery was bit messy , I was stress out arrive , and turn out is doormat. Also it have a lot of waiting and uncertainty the other 2 products when is it arrive . Haven’t receive my other 2 products still in Oct … it was said 4-6 weeks but seem not ETD yet .i could recommend other consider twice before place made to order with them..

I understand Jess has advised on a number of occasions your USM unit is shipping from Switzerland in the w/c 21/10 and we are still waiting for confirmation when the lamp will arrive from the supplier. Issue resolved and happy customer

50% of the chairs that were delivered were damaged. This was not in transit so the quality control must have failed. Am waiting for refund.

Update: I have been very impressed with the aftercare I have received from Utility Design since the faulty chairs were delivered. I kept a few at a discount and the others have been replaced. The communications from customer services have been promt, helpful and I am delighted with the chairs.

Hello - firstly please accept my apologies for the delay in getting this to you. I can see this was ordered on Friday 6th September. This was for an item we have been waiting for 5 years (yes, 5 years) to come back into stock due to re-engineering and new manufacturing methods. We have had it on back order with the manufacturer for all that time but underestimated how popular this would be. Our initial order for 48 sold out in 2 days. We had placed another order but has to wait for 3 weeks for this to come back into stock which is when we were able to fulfil your order. I hope you are now delighted with the product.

I messaged Utility about the returns…

I messaged Utility about the returns process (i want to swap one product for two slightly different ones) and i have not had a response yet.

Update. I was contacted by the team at Utility and they could not have been more helpful. My issue is resolved and I am a happy customer. Thanks to Utility for sorting everything out so efficiently and with good humour

Normann Copenhagen Washing Up Bowl…

Had managed to track down a Normann Copenhagen washing up bowl with Utility Design (they appear to be as rare as hens teeth!!). The bowl arrived within a couple of days and thrilled - it’s been a long by search!
