My family and I rented a car through Arctic over the Christmas holiday, and once again, the experience was flawless. Having used Arctic for our family holidays on three occasions now, we continue to be impressed by their service. From pick-up to the smooth return, everything was handled professionally. When we decided to extend the rental period, Arctic was super accommodating. Outstanding service paired with unbeatable prices - will definitely choose to book through these guys again.

Good process of picking up the car and dropping it off. All automated. We had last minute request to extend the contract and they did everything possible to suit our needs. Would definitely recommend using them for a car rental.

Excellent experience. I had a 5 week rental and needed to make a few changes to extended towards the end. All communication was very pleasant and changes were simple to make. Pickup and dropping off are both very easy processes to follow. I've rented from other companies in the Faroe Islands but will be returning to Arctic on all my future trips.

We rented for ten days with Arctic and it was very smooth. The vehicle we received, a Honda HRV, was perfect for navigating the narrow roads of the Faroes and in great condition. Pickup and drop off was easy.

Our flight on the last day was delayed at one point and Magni / the Arctic team were willing to accommodate us having the vehicle for longer that day at no additional cost.

Communication with Arctic was always quick! I have yet to receive details on the deposit / subtractions for the toll tunnels but I have no doubt it will be consistent with the excellent service I received so far.

Despited some start problem getting a key and a car and later a replacement. The handeling of the problem from the office in Thorshavn where fast and a reassuring and every turned of to the best for

We rented a car here during our 10 day trip to the faroen. Not only was everything really smooth and comfortable, but upon request they gave us 2 hours on the car for free. Would absolutely recommend to use their service and would absolutely take them again when coming back to the islands.

Car was clean with little to no damage.
What I marked in service page, they provided everything.
Price and deposit is reasonable and fair.

Awful experience - stay away. (i) delay and no key for accessing the keybox; (ii) first vehicle provided was severely damaged; (iii) service hotline tried to threaten us into taking the damaged vehicle.

Our flight was scheduled to land at 1pm; it was delayed for two hours. By 3pm when we landed, we still had not received the password to the Keybox. The link for the key simply took us to the page which said that the key was not ready. We were told by one of the staff for RentYourCar.fo that the car was not ready even though we made a reservation more than a month ago to be picked up at 1pm. The office for Arctic Rental near the airport was also shut. It turns out upon calling the service hotline that in fact we should go to Rent.fo for our vehicle because the vehicle was to be provided by them. No instruction was provided. Luckily, our phone plan provided a phone call allowance and we were able to call the service hotline. It was also clear at that point that Arctic Rental did not provide their own vehicles for our contract, they contracted it out to RentYourCar.fo.

We went to the RentYourCar.fo's counter and were provided with the key to our car. Upon examining the car, the right rear-side of the vehicle was completely damaged and barely taped together using a lot of masking tape. Some of the masking tapes were still dangling in the air. There were also extensive scratch marks and rusts on the vehicle and it was obvious that these damages were in existent for a long time. They knew about them and those damages were seen reported on their system when we spoke to the employees manning the rent.fo counter.

We also spoke to the service hotline again and the rent.fo counter and were informed that this is the only vehicle available. We were also told that the vehicle was safe to drive albeit the employee at rent.fo said that because of the masking tapes, in reverse gear, the back sensors will always detect moving objects and the warning system will constantly beep. It was obviously not a safe vehicle to drive in.

The employee manning the service hotline was unable to offer us any assistance and we had to make several calls on our own to another number provided subsequently to reach the manager. The manager threatened on the phone that we had two options you either take this ridiculously scrapped vehicle or you leave it and go without. All other rental agencies were closing at this point and they also could not provide an alternative car on such short notice.

After more than 3 hours on the phone (we missed the only sunny afternoon we had during our time in Faroe Islands and would otherwise have gone for a hike in Trælanípa), we were finally provided with another vehicle even though the service hotline initially said that there were no alternatives.

I would stay away at all costs. There are plenty other reputable car rental agencies on the Islands.

Very flexible company that witout any hesitation allowed me to return the car later than expected.

- Prompt response to email for all the enquiries during our trip.
- All the ID verification and deposit were done online beforehand and the self-service key collection was a complete genius idea which made the pickup journey much efficient than the traditional way. Personally I hope all the car rental companies elsewhere can learn from it.
- Clear label/sticker on the exterior marking “Reported Damage” made it really clear on the existing damages at pickup to eliminate all the guesswork and uncertainty when returning the car.

We rented a car with Arctic for one day to explore the islands during our cruise. Service was splendid. Upon arrivel the car was waiting for us right at the cruise dock. Took only one minute to pick up and to return the care. Arctic provided a perfect car (Honda civic). Highly recommended.

Great rates, car in excellent condition and world-class service, including flexible pickup at the harbour out of hours. If all car rentals were like this!!!

I had an excellent experience with Arctic Cars during my recent trip. Despite encountering an issue with my Kia XCeed’s battery, their team provided swift and effective assistance. They were very professional and kind, even offering to waive the 750 DKK road assistance fee. This gesture truly reflected their commitment to customer satisfaction. Highly recommend Arctic Cars for their top-notch service and customer care!

(attention: you´ve got to pay both for picking up and returning a fee, no matter where ... )

This is a fantastic company with an incredible service. The pick up system is super streamlined: you pick up the key from a lockbox activated by a code in your phone. No faffing about! Easy to book, easy to use. The car was great, courteous email communications, and I highly recommend using Arctic to anyone visiting the Faroes.

One word of warning for those coming from the UK: make sure you have a SIM for your phone. If you arrive without Wi-Fi access and the office is shut, you can’t open the lock box. Luckily I could access mine remotely via a (v expensive)n phone call, and all worked out.

The deposit was returned 3 working days later with super clear paperwork.
