I’ve had a very positive experience with Berkeley Psychiatrists, I received my assessment for ADHD via NHS right to choose. I’m now in titration with Claire Carroll who has been really supportive, it has been so reassuring to speak with someone who really understands what I’m going through, the process is not rushed and is taken slowly. For me it has been a life changing experience having received my diagnosis later in life aged 55, I can view my past struggles in a new way and with the right support to accept and move forward.

Dr Claudia Aymerich was fantastic, informative, and understanding. I felt comfortable and listened to during the assessment. I would recommend Dr Aymerich to anybody considering an assessment through Berkeley Psychiatrists.

Mr. Nabeel has been a fantastic through my tritration period, he listens and is extremely efficient and quick to assist when there has been any issues.

David was lovely and clear going through my assessment and felt he had a good understanding of my history and current struggles.

Sarah Jenkins made me feel validated, valued and understood. She made the process so much easier than I could have imagined and made me feel comfortable right from the start, I would highly recommend Sarah and her compassion, humanness and experience.

I had a really positive experience with Berkeley Psychiatrists overall. Everything moved quickly and efficiently, and the communication throughout the process was excellent. Emails were clear, timely, and reassuring, which made the whole process much easier. Late night appointments made it so that I didn’t have to find childcare and could focus on myself in the assessment. I particularly appreciated how smoothly everything was handled through the Right to Choose pathway.

That said, I did feel that the assessment itself was a little rushed. There was quite a lot of focus on my childhood, whereas I felt there could have been more discussion around the difficulties and challenges I experience on a day-to-day basis as an adult. However, I am not a psychiatrist so I am not sure what line of questioning is essential only what I have experienced sitting in on others assessments.
After the assessment, I received the outcome, but I would have appreciated more explanation around the reasoning behind the diagnosis and what they had identified from speaking with me and reviewing my completed questionnaires and feedback on whether I show signs of AuDHD. I left feeling so I really have it or do I only show some signs or how serious is it to me.

Of course, this may simply be a difference between an NHS-funded assessment and a private assessment. I had previously sat in on my husband’s private assessment, and there was much more conversation around adulthood, his experiences, and the reasoning behind his diagnosis and where he scored on the scale, so I naturally noticed the difference.

However, I have to say the medication appointment was excellent. The clinician took the time to explain the differences between the two medication options, why one was felt to be more suitable for me, and answered my questions clearly. I felt listened to and reassured during that appointment, and the explanation around the medication was particularly helpful. The prescription arrived in my inbox the next day and the medication was started the following day and oh my goodness has it changed me! I no longer hear all the noise, nothing feels overwhelming and I’m focussed on my daily tasks. It was obvious from taking the medication how much I was struggling!

Overall, I’m grateful for how quickly and professionally Berkeley Psychiatrists handled the process, and the communication throughout the Right to Choose pathway was excellent from conversations with receptionists, medication team and assessment team. My main feedback would simply be that I would have valued a little more time and explanation during the assessment and around the reasoning behind the final diagnosis but again this it a private clinic offering help to support the NHS so we cannot expect the same amount of time as a private patient and still believe they deserve their 5 stars. I’m just so grateful for their time and diagnosis and putting me on the right medication to making my life so much smoother!

Nabeel Cassim has been excellent throughout my medication titration. He's been very approachable and supportive, taking the time to listen and explain everything clearly.

My initial assessment was with Dr Kalpana Dein, who was also very approachable and professional. She made the assessment process smooth and straightforward, while also providing additional helpful resources.

Overall, I'm extremely grateful for the care I've received from both clinicians and would highly recommend Berkeley Psychiatrists.

ADHD titration appointments with ADHD nurse, Alex, are warm, friendly and professional. Alex is very thorough, listens and asks appropriate questions, whilst giving advice.

My appointment was with Laura who from the beginning was welcoming, kind and reassuring. I felt listened to and understood and at no point in the appointment was I made to feel lesser than, in fact it was the opposite. Laura helped me to understand much more talking things through with me clearly and at a good pace for me and also put my anxieties and worries at ease. I was very grateful of the whole experience.

I had a great experience with Mr Kartik Dravid. He was attentive and really knowledgeable. My whole experience with Berkley through RTC has been timely and really pleasant.

My GP referred me via RTC and I couldn't believe how quickly I received an appointment. I had my assessment with Mrs Hayley Ring and she was the perfect practitioner for me. She was very easy to talk to, non-judgemental and kind. The documentation comes through quickly afterwards and I've referred back to it many times since for personal understanding.

After my diagnosis of ADHD, I have been having regular titration appointments for my treatment. The appointment process is simple, easy and very clear. I also get a reminder notification a few days before the appointment. The appointment takes place punctually. Leon Cooper who looks after my care is efficient, empathetic, respectful and caring. I have had issues adjusting to the medication but the consultation is thorough with clear plans. I am able to clarify any doubts and concerns and also get very good advice about any issues. At the end of the consultation, a mutually suitable appointment slot is identified and pencilled in.
Overall, I get excellent care. The service that Leon Cooper and this company provide is superb.
