Wish I'd read the Trustpilot reviews…
Wish I'd read the Trustpilot reviews before buying! Now I know why there are so many bad reviews. The worst customer service I have ever received. We were told our brand new car would be available by Christmas, it did not arrive into the dealership until 9 January. Shortly after it encountered a mechanical fault and it took them two and a half months to resolve it. During that time they did not offer us any compensation, or even the use of a courtesy car. They did promise our finance payments would be covered as we did not have ownership of the car, as well as free delivery of the car. Fast forward to the end of March and they asked for us to come into the dealership to have a manager meet us and to discuss the situation. We turned up to nobody meeting us. So we had travelled at our expense for their benefit only to be disappointed. Further, they offered us a "goodwill" payment of two months payment, despite having not had the car for three months. After further discussion, they "offered" to pay the 3 months as promised, with no other acknowledgement of the stress and inconvenience caused. I indicated I wanted to refer the case to the Ombudsman as I did not think they had at any point offered suitable resolution. They are now trying to blackmail me to not refer the case to the Ombudsman, threatening to not pay out the promised three months finance payments. The worst decision I have ever made buying a car from here! Spend £21,000 on a car to be treated like this. Completely ruined the buying a new car experience. Also informed them I had to postpone having a meeting with them as we were getting married and all I got was "I appreciate you may have other commitments". Would not recommend, wish we had gone elsewhere. It is true once they have your money they don't care.

I went in with the intention of buying a tiggo 9 but sat waiting like an idiot for 45 mins to be seen to after being told someone was coming out to see me , after 45 mins of sitting on the forecourt I’d say they don’t deserve my custom ! God knows how they sell cars after that performance!!

Wast of time
I contacted Sienna at MG Croxdale regarding a software issue on my 4-week-old MG HS. I was advised by the service department that I would receive a call back the same day by 5pm to arrange for my car to be booked in for inspection.
The following day, having received no call, I contacted them again and spoke to the same person, who repeated the same promise.
Once again, no call was received. This was a complete waste of my time and very disappointing customer service. Based on my experience, I would advise others to think carefully before using this branch.

(Updated) Terrible Aftersales. Unwilling to take responsibility.
Update: Following my complaint, The Motor Ombudsman has confirmed that the matter falls outside of its remit and, as a result, they are unable to take the case any further. However, they did not state that Croxdale was absolved of responsibility or that no further action was required. In fact, they encouraged me to pursue the matter with the finance company.
Despite this, Croxdale has stated that The Motor Ombudsman’s decision means they do not need to take any further action and continues to maintain that the condition of the vehicle at the point of sale was reasonable for its age and mileage.
I remain firmly of the view that perforation of the roof on a 4-year-old vehicle with only 22,000 miles is not consistent with what a customer would reasonably expect.
It is also disappointing that, rather than addressing the concerns raised, the business sought to have this review removed. Trustpilot reviewed the matter and determined that it did not breach their guidelines and should remain published.
I purchased a vehicle from Croxdale Alfa Romeo and within 3 days identified a serious issue – perforation on the roof. I raised this immediately and was reassured that if it wasn’t covered by Alfa Romeo, Croxdale would resolve it themselves.
Alfa Romeo later declined the claim as it wasn’t covered under their warranty. However, I had already been clearly told by Croxdale that the issue would still be dealt with. This commitment was not honoured.
Instead, the sales manager dismissed the problem, stating this level of deterioration was “expected” for the vehicle’s age. I strongly disagreed – this is a 4-year-old car with only 22,000 miles, and such a condition is clearly not reasonable.
The business manager then stepped in and assured me the matter would be handled properly. Despite this, nearly a year has now passed with no resolution, no accountability, and no meaningful progress.
I am now having to escalate the issue to The Motor Ombudsman.
The aftersales service has been extremely disappointing. Promises were made at the point of sale but not followed through, leaving me to deal with the consequences.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious – especially when it comes to aftersales support.

Just took delivery of my first Alfa Romeo. Garredd's support through the process and my constant queries was excellent. Friendly team of professionals onsite and I can definitely recommend this location!
The new service centre looks great too, straight out of the Porsche playbook ;)

CITROEN AT CROXDALE DURHAM NOT GOOD don't go there
Recently purchased (20th feb 2026) a used Citroen Berlingo 1.5 Bluehdi Flair 28,800mls from Croxdale group Durham DH65HS , on 27th Feb I took delivery, on 28th Feb on first run out the EML light came on, as part of my Spoticar warranty I contacted Croxdale group for instruction, I was instructed to call the Citroen number which in turn led to a call out from the breakdown service from Spoticar, The engineer informed me that the DPF (Diesel Particular Filter) filter was at fault. Twice this happened !!!
After two weeks and lots of telephone calls and emails, Croxdale finally agreed to Pick up My Car from Telfords Citroen Carlisle where the car had been uplifted to and taken too from my home( 50 mls away), Telfords inspected and confirmed it was indeed the DPF at fault.
The car was tested at Croxdales workshop, and in their wording "carried out Vehicle Health Check, found fault code P2002 EML light on dash and followed technical Bulletin, checked that all pipes conform, so removed and replaced DPF as required, Extended road test and tested all ok."
Croxdale returned my vehicle to my home by transporter on 25th March 2026. so a month without this vehicle.
Year Warranty from Spoticar didn't cover this but fault being noticed within 30days Croxdale were liable for fix.
For peace of mind I booked my car into Telfords (50mls from my home)Citroen at first available date 16th April 2026 for a service to check the Status of the Vehicle, to my dismay Telfords informed me that Croxdale have fitted an AFTER MARKET DPF filter, cheaper fix, which I was duly informed it wont last as long as a Citroen original DPF filter would. also pointed out a few other issues, both headlight bulbs not working on full beam, every tyre had different pressures leading to four new ones fitted within 4- 5 weeks of purchasing the car, sure sign of not presale checked correctly, STILL WAITING ON AFTERSALES GETTING BACK TO MYSELF , about other niggles.

Steer clear of Croxdale MG
I took my MG to Croxdale when I received a manufacture's recall as it was the nearest dealer . I was told the job should take around an hour, but I gave them the go-ahead to replace a dodgy tyre as an extra, which they had spotted. However when I was told the car was almost ready I was left waiting for approx. an hour and a half, during which time I was given the keys to the wrong car, and then told that there had been a mix up and they hadn't been able to find my car to return it to me??!!. I returned home, parked up but when I went to start the car to go to work it wouldn't start , my car which had never given me a problem until Croxdale got their hands on it. When I rang them to ask them to rectify the problem they weren't interested. I ended up paying £95 to people I could trust to have the battery charged and the car tested for any faults that would drain the battery, and there were none. The car has been fine since. I suspect Croxdale took 3 hrs. longer than they should have to do the work because they caused the problem and had to cover up their blunder. I have emailed both Croxdale and MG Motors to complain, as yet no response. I would advise all to steer clear of Croxdale MG.

Go elsewhere for repairs
Went in to replace worn out front brake pads for DS3. Charged £600 and went on to do what they wanted on the car apart from the job I wanted done. Charged £634 on top to do the original job. I went up the road and got front pads replaced and rear spring coil for £350. They manufacture jobs that otherwise need not doing and charge you twice as much . Steer clear!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Purchased a brand new MG 4 X Power in Oct 24 and have had nothing but problems. Issues reported on day 2 of ownership and still to this day not resolved.
Car has been into the dealership multiple times who suggest they cannot find any issues. Terrible vibration in the car, bluetooth does not work and the car has come to an emergency stop on its own accord from 40mph.
Several lies and false promises along the way, scary to see an organisation can operate like this.
Have been forced to use the Financial Ombudsman Service who are looking into this on my behalf.
Independent reports agree that the car is faulty, however the dealer suggest they cannot detect anything.
Horrific aftercare and it appears I am not the only one who has encountered this. In the 20+ cars I have owned, never in my experience have I dealt with an outfit like MG Croxdale.

Customer service terrible
Customer service terrible, they try and charge you just to look at a brand new cars that will not start somehow making out its your fault ,use to buy all our cars there as its local had 8 car in total .
All 8 have had problems but we should of abandoned this garage ages ago as all had major problems this time bought elsewhere and won't be using croxdale again please look elsewhere as this company have no loyalty to its customers
too busy to do the simple things for customers..
due to previous garage no longer servicing alfa romeo croxdale took over my motability car, ongoing issue with 12v battery so booked in for diagnostic plus mot was nearly due.no real answer to battery problem when i picked car up,but told several recall items needed sorting so booked in again five week wait.took car back in and three days in workshop and i mentioned tpms came on as driving in,on picking car up noticed messages on dash that i missed reading but tpms light still on also.when i got home i scrolled through fault messages it was something about hybrid system and when i had a spare moment rang up garage but all workshop too busy and managers were in a meeting and would be going home after meeting.i was told to bring car in monday but all this did was book the car in again a task i could have done on the phone if receptionist was more clear.croxdale too busy to pump up a tyre or wash cars after servicing so im glad im getting a differant car and dealer next month.
Worst car buying experience of my life
Worst car buying experience of my life. Citroen croxdale. Purchased an electric car with an expectation it would reach somewhat near the mileage set out by the manufacturer. Car doesn’t even do half the mileage expected and the only way to get an ok miles/kwh figure is to turn off the heaters (not helpful when it’s cold). I have another few issues, enough to want to exercise my consumer rights. Wanted to return the car within the 30 days but have been met with silence. I will never purchase a car from this place again and am currently making legal arrangements. Horrible company with non existent after care. They honestly care more about their social media presence than they do their customers.

Happy to take the money for a new but when you ask a simple question as the car had an alarm fault, citreon c3 known issue.............zero response. Also before purchase I asked if the car had had the serious brake pedal box recall done, was told YES but when it went to my local citreon dealer and citreons own website said NO....this is a serious STOP GO RECALL........... they of course just denied everything, Avoid this company.

Bought a new MG 4 in January 2026,, picked up in the dark to find it had a scratched headlight told me someone had burnt it which is rubbish. Soon as you buy a car they don't want to know. I won't buy off them again there's plenty of other dealers. I was sold a new pre registered car I doubt it was new. 80 miles on it. I'm still waiting for them contact me about headlight but doubt they will
When the person makes the difference
I recently purchased my brand new car from Croxdale Group and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
Although Croxdale is a large and well-established group representing several major brands, what truly made the difference for me was the outstanding service provided by Garredd.
From start to finish, Garredd demonstrated exceptional professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care. His knowledge of the vehicle was impressive — he clearly knows everything about what he is selling — and he made sure I fully understood every aspect of the car before making my decision. There was never any pressure, just clear explanations, patience, and support.
Most importantly, he made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process, which is exactly what you want when making such an important purchase.
Garredd is undoubtedly a major asset to Croxdale Group — a real feather in their cap and a great example of what excellent customer service should look like.
Highly recommended

A real shame
A real shame. The after care experience not worth it at all.
You'll notice a bit of a trend I think with these reviews, buying a car here is a great experience, but hope nothing goes wrong.
Took our Citroen eC4 in three times in a year because it wouldn't start after we bought it. Customer service was abysmal, no clear communication and took ages to get it sorted. All promises of a courtesy car and support were reneged on, had to push and push to get any service at all.
Final straw: Just found out that the car wasn't serviced when we bought it, which the sales person told us it would be, so it's now overdue. All of the extras in our service plan we were promised also non existent.
Steer clear.

Terrible experienc
Purchased two cars from Croxdale previously. Experience was very good. However , went to part exchange again in November and it was horrible. Offer for my car was reduced for a fault that the car didn't has yet! Might as well reduced the price for the tyres that would need replacing in 10000 miles! Sales Manager was patronising and obviously though I was clueless. I will never use things dealer again.
Very good service and Steve in sales…
Very good service and Steve in sales and Mr Rockingham should be complicated with their attention to detail and patience regarding the proposed purchase.
