Waited over an hour to speak to an agent. It was one simple question in regards to a form I was filling in on behalf of my partner.
I was given 100% the wrong information. Still trying to get in contact with the DWP

Systemic bullying environment could be a lot better but no one wants to speak up

They don't know how to treat vulnerable adults, the staff has not been trained to deal with reasonable adjustments, communication or explanation. Complaint process are not followed and they deliberately put people in situations that can lead to poverty or further financial struggles. Disgusting service overall and an urgent review of how DWP deal with people is needed as a priority.

i am disabled exmilitary veteran in wheelchair now, i neede to contact pip dwp for copy of my award letter, it took 30 mins waiting on phone ,then i got an answer the man was very kind understanding, i then got cut off after all that waiting, but the kind gentleman rumg me back and completed my request ,welldone dwp pip.

I applied for pip as I have serious mental health condition and after being treated badly from the start, I was given a zero score. I've been refused jobs because of the condition or had to prove myself. It seems we're disabled when it suits the goverment, when we need help they don't want to know.

For most of my adult life, my income tax deductions alone were more than the rest of our workforce took home.
But that's fine with me because I wholeheartedly believe in the principles and philosophies at the heart of our NHS, provision of education, Social services and welfare state. So why do I mention that? Because I don't deserve to be shamed and subjected to threats when the time comes that I do need some assistance.

These services, provisions and entitlements were established in the wake of WWII. When everybody could see how vital they were if the country (and the population) was ever going to be OK again. That sense of solidarity is essential for such systems to function.
Nearly half of all benefits consists of pensions - people who have worked hard all their lives.
The next largest portion wouldn't be necessary if all employers paid a fair living wage and zero hours contracts were eliminated. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys, which must be what's happening at the DWP.
I should mention that I'm blind. After receiving a letter saying.. I had absolutely no idea what it said. Eventually, I had someone read it.
They gave me a whole week to complete forms that I was never going to be capable of reading, gather documents that were equally impossible to see. If I failed to meet their deadline, I faced losing my home and with that, any chance of living independently. I would this become a huge drain on a supposedly insufficient fund, requiring many times more financial and personal assistance, no longer being able to contribute to society.
After submitting the required information, I was made to wait for around 12 months to find out whether or not they were going to make me completely dependent.
I have to believe they're in the business of making disabled people.
I could say more but it all happens in a space where only people who can see are welcome. Must be nice.

These are bullies end off and simply because we spend years of paying taxes without even questioning why they take our money yet when we need help because of our disabilities we need to go through an assessment so guess what DWP why don’t you go through an assessment to get our Tax Money. Why should we beg to get the money you have already taken from us when we’re disabled. It’s a joke and you’re an absolute disgrace to this country. Better yet help everyone else but your own and you wonder why people are leaving the army and the country can’t go to war.!!
You take money without question yet if we need money we need to be assessed. You’re an absolute joke !!!!

esa to uc claimant here as was sent migration note in post. i called yesterday as i was confused about one of the questions on the application form. (im autistic and have severe anxiety that affects how i process things, get overwhelmed easily, need to reread important documents so i understand clearer e.g).

i politely asked one of the staff whether I could go through the application with them over the phone only to be rudely scolded in a condescending and aggressive tone. she also had the audacity to question my employment status, bluntly saying she doesn't "get" what im so confused about, talking to me like im incapable of thoughts or something...😐

i felt so horrible and stupid for just calling them in the first place, that i ultimately went back to filling in the online application with help from my loved one.

i hate this system man, its so dehumanising and no one should ever be treated this way.

Applied for my child's PIP today, the individual I spoke on the phone had a strong accent which made it difficult to understand them. They also read a lot of information very fast, for a vulnerable person with language difficulties it would be hard to keep up. Upon asking to clarify questions they simply read a question again and again like a broken record. Just say you can't offer any clarification because of some rules or something, otherwise it feels as though you do not give a hoot. The whole process was very robotic and fast. This is not good enough for vulnerable people. Make the application process online if you can't be bothered to provide a decent service over the phone.

Phone about making PIP assessment. Severly struggle with autism / severe mental health issues. Initial statement says we aim to treat people fairly and with respect. I disagree girl was thoroughly rude. She read a 3 minute statement out asking for me to agree on the spot. Contained alot of legal terms about being prosecuted etc. My autistic brain cannot process information that quickly. Ask for it to be emailed and she said sternly can't do that. She was asking me questions I did not understand. When asked for her to clarify she said she is only allowed to read the questions and nothing more. Not very helpful.

The long and short of it it I have abandoned my claim as just too stressful. Thanks DWP for ruining my day. I guess ultimately this is what you were hoping for

I was suppose to Apply for the disability allowance when I got a letter stating I need to sent in my passport as a prove, and they had sent in the addressed envelope along with it, but I decided to sent in my BRITISH Naturalisation certificate as it says it needed the original document to see as a proof and it would be returned back, but till date they haven’t returned it back to me it’s 12 months now and each time I call them to make a query regarding it with my application number the lady says you did not submit the real document rather the photo copy, and I had spent £400 to get that naturalisation certificate and then on another occasion the lady said it’s not original as we have already written on that document it’s not original, it means they have TAMPERED MY NATURSLISATION CERTIFICATE, what an unprofessional behaviour, they did it purposely it’s not a layman’s joke , it cost money more than the Benefit, I think people in government jobs think that Asian have loads of money to waste of shit like this, and due to her fault my naturalisation certificate is destroyed, so do I file a police complaint or go on a hunger strike outside their office in Wolverhampton, it’s a clear Loot, I do want to share my application number but I think they will create more problems, will going to public and in sharing it in various social media will it help as it’s a clear indication this is done out of grudge or somekind of mischievous behaviour for citizens to spent money.

I am struggling with pain and weakness in my right arm at the moment along with many other surgeries and conditions so needed help today with filling in a PIP form. I phoned the number on the form to ask if there was any way they could help me with this, not really expecting that there would be but was delighted by their response. In particular a member of staff called Andy Davis who went out of his way to support me. I have never experienced such, patience, understanding and kindness from a government official as I did today. I’ve not been in this situation before so it genuinely seemed like a mine field. Others have been helpful but certainly not to this degree. I really wish that this was the norm. Thank you Andy 👍🏻 I hope this reaches the attention of Hannah Bradley as I really do think he deserves the recognition

Was informed by DWP deductions from my wages would happen , so i set up a repayment plan of 10 pounds per week , was told thats fine , iv received a payslip and £135 pounds has been deducted this week from my wage , which will cause serious conseqiences of being able to continue working , ill probably have to claim benefits due to this as iv been left broke , hurrah to the dwp

Another vile regime.
I contacted them to ask a few questions about my pension. After trying to prove my identity the rude woman on the other end said I didn't pass security.
I made a complaint but 2 months have passed and I have heard nothing. It makes me angry when listening to crime watch this morning. A Camaroon bloke fained disability for 18 years and was paid 1m in benefits 50 k a year. What made it worse was he was an illegal immigrant, it only came to light when he didn,t have a passport. Th DWP is not fit for purpoae and is the reason why England is in debt up to it's eyeballs

Contrary to government spin people such as myself are being denied pip. I have severe mental health problems depression , anxiety , o.c.d etc and have been denied twice for having reasonable physical health,proving mental health is not deemed a disability by the dwp. The last refusal was signed the OFFICE MANAGER ! Won,t even put an name to their lack of truth and judgement . I was not even seen by a mental health professional.

July 17th I called to make a claim for my poorly mother. The first person I connected to had a line that continued to go quite and he cut the call mid way, the second time I called the women who answered who had broken English, was extremely rude and had a horrible buzzing noise in the background which I told her about and she argued with me and claimed it was my phone even though she revealed she could hear me clearly, she then cut the call, I called back and no one would answer which then went passed 5pm and the office is closed. This is unacceptable behavior. Disgusting that we have to go through that when the whole pip process is stressful and hard anyway.

Long waits and more often than not unhelpful people. Even the complaints team seem to disregard criticism.

After several years of being out of work due to what the NHS now sees as autism, I managed to secure a temporary full-time contract in a new role. After 8 months they offered me a permanent contract, subject to references.

Part of the onboarding process is to complete an Experian check to prove my identity and work history. At Experian's request, I contacted DWP to obtain a Letter of Entitlement, which would confirm my time on benefits as a job seeker.

I spoke to a DWP agent on the morning of Thursday 3 July. The agent informed me that he was printing the letter, and it would be sent to me asap. He also advised that it could not be emailed to me and had to be sent my post.

It is now Tuesday 15 July, and I have received no letter. I am unable to proceed with my application process due to the lack of the letter.

As a woman with autism in her 50s, finding a permanent job that suits me and will provide me with a long-term stable income is extremely important to me. However, I am now at the mercy of DWP and Royal Mail.

I will contact them again, in the hope that they may help, but I am now also extremely anxious that I will lose the opportunity of gaining a permanent full-time contract in a role that suits my needs.

This is a terrible situation to be in.

Worst than human waste!!!! You work, you fine, you become disabled( myself in Scotland), so you'll have to deal with those ignorant cretins , you absolutely f...., nobody asks for being ill, but if you get any illness they gonna destroy you, your loose your will to live, mental health problems that's "EXTRA" from that sewage called dwp and other useless institutions you will have to ask for help??? (for ex.councils) Become unfortunately disabled in Scotland which doesn't look better than being in UK, I needed local mental health team, Cab, welfare rights and solicitors because had steroids banging at the door with eviction notice!! Now almost 10 years stuck in the same loop, never ending story, don't talk to people, no girl,no friends, avoiding going out, suicidal every day,scared to talk to anyone, especially outside, constant panic attacks, zero self confidence, self esteem, respect etc, but unfortunately it doesn't stop with that useless lot, even highly glorified NHS!(local Montrose) 6th year trying to get help, ignored, "diagnosis" over the phone, circus full of clowns! Still don't know what's wrong with me, have a bad luck, I guess ,for choosing third world country to be disabled in. But that's just really, really short version of my experience, hey, people can "live" much longer than me and then jumping out of window, right. Wait a minute, just came a letter from the manure centre, you Need to claim now universal credit??("there's a Lot of help available", add on Deezer??) after being on ESA for so long, so being tortured will never stop with that bull stool, it's not that you "only" have to deal with your disabilities, you get more and then some, so that's all folks, be aware of that freak show, and be scared!

I have written numerous letters of complaint and nothing!! Been 6 weeks + now and they have not responded. I call and get passed to different departments, no one will answer me.
The stress has lead to a cardiac event. Maybe that's what DWP want, if I'm dead the complaint goes away!!
Maybe if I change my surname they may respond!!
