My elderly Mother was pressured into joining Halfords motorclub. They booked her in for MOT but not a garage near, she asked for a different garage and they gave her another garage too far. She gave up and wrote the £54 off. She was then auto renewed 12 months later, which she wasn't aware of. Mum canceled within 2 weeks but they never refunded the money, they emailed to say it would be in her account but the money never appeared. Next time we tried to email them, they sent an email to say the matter was closed.

Only way to cancel this in our experience is to report the card you paid with as lost.

Massive SCAM that seems to focus on elderly folk.

Bestelling gedaan online voor 17:00 besteld dezelfde dag verzonden. Nou mooi niet week verder nog niks. Chatrobot ai is ruk mailen naar klantenservice heeft geen zin wordt niet op gereageerd. Als ze al niet failliet zijn zal dat niet lang meer duren.

Koop niet online één die fiets bij halfords! Want je krijgt geen service van ze! Nu er een terugroep actie is, willen ze de fiets niet terugnemen om het onderdeel te plaatsen! Nee ik moet zelf maar een oplossing zoeken met de fabrikant! En wat zegt de fabrikant, de dealer je de fiets vandaan heeft moet het oplossen! Slecht bedrijf!

We hadden 2 fatbike banden meegenomen om de vliegwielen om te wisselen. Helaas was de gene die erover ging niet aanwezig. Prijs nog nagevraagd. 2 uur later zou diegene aanwezig zijn en het was rustig dus we zouden de eerste zijn. 1,5 uur later nog steeds niet gebeld door halfords. Dus bellen om te vragen hoe het ervoor stond. Het was druk die dag en kon niet gemaakt worden. Afgesproken komen eraan om de wielen op te halen. 10 minuten later werden we gebeld dat de vliegwielen toch omgewisseld waren naar de andere band. Eenmaal in de winkel wielen in orde, maar prijs was wel 2x zo duur. We komen regelmatig hier onze spullen halen. Maar deze ervaring was niet netjes

Een tijd terug ben ik bij Halfords geweest voor de fiets van mijn kind, omdat de banden leeg waren en ik zelf geen geschikte pomp had. Bij aankomst werd ik meteen geholpen door een ontzettend vriendelijke medewerker, die de banden heeft opgepompt zonder kosten in rekening te brengen. Heel prettig en klantvriendelijk!

Do not get drawn in to this scheme, free mot the first one I had was a fail but then went straight through at another garage. I then took my Kia but that failed on the brake test, I then took the car to Kia main dealer and the brake test passed comfortably.
I then called Halfords to cancel my membership and was told there was an exit fee to be paid. The whole motoring club is a scam, do not get taken in.

Bij het retourneren van mijn pakketje heb ik dicht geplakt met ductape dat mag schijnbaar niet en krijg je maar een gedeelte van je aankoopbedrag terug. Echt te zot voor worden!! Bestel hier echt nooit meer!

Wij hebben zojuist u retour ontvangen van de Thule kit. Deze kunnen wij niet voor de nieuwprijs accepteren, omdat wij deze niet meer als nieuw kunnen verkopen door de staat waarin deze retour gezonden is.

Zoals wij in onze retourvoorwaarden beschrijven, het artikel goed te verpakken en onbeschadigd retour te zenden, niet is gebeurd maar het artikel niet is verpakt en nu met stickers en tape beplakt is.

Wij kunnen daarom een bedrag van 25,- euro overmaken voor deze retour. Wij horen graag

You cannot change your email address for Halfords Motoring Club. Waste of time entering details as they are now all lost. I am concerned about potential security breaches on my old email. Halfords complaints line is an automated system that hangs up on you. Glad I am only on the free subscription.

Motoring Club is a scam! It advertised two checks per membership term, I only had MOT and service and was unable to get a fee checkup done let alone two! Contacted support I availed free MOT so I can’t have free checks???? But that was including MOT, then I cancelled membership! I received offer via login to say Black Friday offer renew membership! I logged onto my free membership account, toggle button was there to avail membership for £44 for another year! Paid for all, then membership didn’t activated! Called customer service, they told me it was for new customers, yet it was on my login! Then I joined by new- mail, it was charging £54. So it’s all scam! Pay £54 for MOT or have membership paid for £54 and get MOT free! Motoring club is a scam, however, Halfords in itself not bad

I cancelled my membership several weeks ago and received a email from Halfords confirming that cancellation. However today I noticed a withdrawal transaction in favour of £54.00. My bank investigated and it was the Motoring Club subscription. A refund has been processed but it could take up to 7 days to receive! I’ve no doubt if I hadn’t noticed the transaction I would never have got a refund! Just watch them!

As people have put the ability to cancel is quite frankly shameful and boarding illegal in certain countries. There are no options to do it online and you can only call a number or essentially apply to cancel which is an absolute joke.
Once you get the email from them it then ASKS if you want to cancel and if you don't reply soon enough they go back pretending you never wanted to leave!
On top of this you get replies that are passive aggressive from the reps (wow) and them trying to charge you.

The benefits are incredibly small in getting this and the cons when you try to leave are disgraceful.

Halfords clearly make it as difficult as possible to cancel motoring club memberships. What an awful policy for a company to have. It's a blatant scam.

You're not a customer, you're a captive. Every avenue you try leads you knowhere. You can't cancel auto-renew. The links you are provided with give you 403 errors, which means they are denying you access to the webpages you're trying to get to.
They have a continuous payment authority which means your bank will keep paying them when they request it. So now you also have to contact your bank to get that stopped because people have had their cancelled memberships mystically renewed, allegedly.

Might be a profitable business model, but really Halfords? Shame on you.

absolute con. dont join the membership, auto renew and they make it impossible to get out of it. I have to cancel my bank card. This is terrible

Don't get caught by the con at the till. I was never told it was a 12 month contract and reading other reviews looks like I’ll have to cancel my bank card to terminate this membership which will be annoying. If not get in touch with my bank to maybe stop payments.

Accu van de cumberland urban fiets viel af en toe spontaan uit.gevraagd of ik langs kon komen voor reparatie.dat kon niet we hebben geen onderdelen meer en ik dacht dater geen goed contact tussen de accu en de houder was en geknetter hoorde kreeg ik als antwoord daar beginnen we niet aan.

2 fietsen besteld verkeerde maat eigen schuld natuurlijk ! Retouren gaat erg moeizaam de kosten hiervan zijn voor jezelf en je moet het zelf regelen. voor zulke grote pakket vind ik dit niet gepast en niet klantvriendelijk, je word hier verder ook niet mee geholpen.

Dakdragers besteld. Zaten niet stevig. Aangemeld voor retour, gaat eerst een week overheen voor je hoort waar je ze naar terug kan sturen. Deze kosten zijn ook weer voor jezelf, nadat je al €10 verzendkosten moest betalen. Na een week heb je dan nog steeds geen reactie of je geld terug. Mensen, wees verstandig, koop in een normale winkel, geen wonder dat die er niet meer zijn van Halfords. Je krijgt gewoon geen reactie en geld terug! Zelfs een halve ster is al teveel

Jammer dat je een ster moet geven liever helemaal niks.
2 maanden geleden mijn lease fiets daar gebracht moest nieuwe motor in.
Nog steeds niet terug schandalig.
Ook geen leenfiets want die hebben ze niet.
Nooit daar meer leasen.
